I took my car here 3/21/23 and talked with Mike the owner's son. I told him my regular mechanic was…read morea week (located in Elmhurst) out and I needed something sooner. He told me they were NOT out a week and he'd call me by days end, he didn't. I visited the following day since they're a stone throw away. He said I could bring my car in a week later! I did so this morning 3/28/23 at 8:30 am and I asked what his schedule was like. Mike told me they had 1 car to finish & I'd be next. At 3 pm I walked over since I'd received no call, I was told that they tested it but that they couldn't determine the exact problem and wanted to keep it for more testing. The problem is they were working on OTHER cars when I arrived and this guy had nothing but BS excuses telling me they didn't want to just start replacing parts, and that 1 of them cost $200 like that would be some sort of deterent or reason for not going forward with the repair! I'm not sure if he's infering that I couldn't afford it or if he's just incompetent. Either way I'm very disappointed given that I live right next door & I'm in need of a local mechanic.

The primary owner Joe made me feel like I was overreacting and he was condescending. We had to bring it back 8 times over 11 months before they finally decided to replace the transmission. In addition, poor communication about how long they needed to keep the car each time led me to have to rent a car at my expense for out of town family commitments. It was so frustrating that I started to have my partner talk to them because I had had enough. Mike was better at communicating, but it still didn't make up for the 8 different times that we had to bring it back in.

I had an extremely humiliating and unprofessional experience at King Transmission Company…read more The customer directly before me was allowed to pay by card. When it was my turn, I explained that my phone was about to die and asked to pay using tap-to-pay. Instead of simply explaining whether they accepted that form of payment, the older man behind the counter kept saying that he didn't understand what I was asking. I explained again that I was only trying to pay for my service and leave. I then asked why the customer before me was allowed to pay by card, but I wasn't being given that same option. Rather than answering my question or giving me a clear explanation, he raised his voice, talked over me, and demanded, "Your going to listen to what I have to say?" I am a grown woman and a paying customer not a child. No man behind a register should speak to a woman in that condescending manner, especially in front of her three children. I currently have the flu and was wearing a hoodie because I wasn't feeling well. I genuinely felt stereotyped based on my appearance. I was not asking for anything free or being difficult I was trying to PAY them. I eventually paid cash and asked for my invoice and key. The situation became even more inappropriate when he told me that if he had a heart attack, he was going to sue me. Even after receiving my payment, he continued behaving aggressively and would not immediately provide my invoice or return my key. At that point, I called the police because I wanted my property and documentation so I could leave safely with my children. I left feeling stereotyped, humiliated, and embarrassed in front of my children. This is not how any paying customer should be treated. The entire situation could have been avoided with a clear explanation and basic professionalism.
