We went for lunch as it was across the street from our hotel. We were a party of 6 so they put us in one of the smaller rooms. The servers seemed to forget about us and we had to go out several times to get them to take our order, to ask for water refills and to ask for the bill. The food was tasty and portions were big. Osakas is a regular restaurant staple when we go out to eat. There are both good classic dishes you want to eat everytime you visit and a huge menu of new items you want to try. My favourite things to eat here are the Japanese style curry and the Baked lobster roll. Dessert is good but some items are a bit overpriced. Probably the best sushi place in town. read more

so awful.. i've been to more than 200 different Japanese restaurants in China, and had never had such terrible food in my life. i understand the food here wont rlly be high quality, but didn't expect the food in this restaurant to be so horrible. so my suggestion is you rlly should either improve the quality of the food or close this restaurant ASAP for gods sake and i really wonder why the color of the salmon in the sushi and the sashimi look totally different.. one looks so red that i even doubt the fish was actually poisoned, and the other is so pale, like dead human body. and none of them has the color of a normal fresh salmon fish meat. is that some kind of new sepecies this restaurant has invented? thank you for preparing this weird, seemingly poisonous, disgusting and terrible lunch which totally spoil my day. read more

Went here for an early Valentine's Day with my husband. We ended up bringing our 15 year old daughter as well because she worked on her birthday (so we thought we would celebrate both things at once). Because we chose the teppanyaki grill experience I just wanted to give some context. Firstly, the seating style is definitely not conducive to a date night experience (so you might want to rethink this if you are looking for some privacy with your partner during your dining experience). I think there was 9 or 10 seats together at our dining station. This could be something to take into consideration if you or your dining companions are introverts (as you will be sitting close to strangers for the evening. Also I would highly recommend studying the menu very carefully as you order-we had no idea that the fried rice was 5 dollars (each person) extra. It was confusing because we all saw that rice was included (and everyone got the fried rice at our dining station so I thought this was the standard rice). Fifteen dollars on top of our meal wasn't a fun surprise. Also, I recognize that it would be challenging to cook all different steak orders (most of our dining group had steak). My daughter and I ordered a medium (and it was definitely medium well). Also my husband ordered medium well and he got well done (it was pulled off the same time as the diner that ordered well done). My husband ordered a diet Pepsi (which we never got). Because of the salt content for our meal (soya sauce and salt on most of it plus other seasonings) I was definitely hoping a server would come by and bring us all a second (or third glass of water). A server did not come until the last to give us the bill and also takeout boxes (and didn't ask if we wanted anything else). We definitely felt pushed out the door (because we knew that another group would be coming right behind us). Also there was no music so we felt the ambience lacking while we waited for the show to begin at the grill (it wouldn't have to be super loud, we could have still heard our chef with some background music). The chef was amazing and funny, definitely the best part of the night. Again though for introverts, having no choice but to catch egg into our mouth from the chef's spatula (not everyone could do it so the potential for embarrassment is there, especially for an introvert). I think the final straw for my husband was when he paid and there was no option for tipping an individualized amount lower then 18 percent). This is the first review I have ever felt the need to do-I just hope people go in more aware of what to expect (and pay for) thank we did. Happy eating everyone! read more

My friend and I split the small - 40 piece sushi platter. It was way more than enough for the two of us. The sushi was nicely prepared and arranged on a boat-style platter. At $55.95, I thought it was reasonable for decent sushi. We passed on apps and dessert so I can't comment on those parts of the menu. The service was excellent. The washrooms were clean. I went to the restaurant side of this place, not the live grill. The decor inside the restaurant is pretty nice, nothing fancy. The menu is fairly large without a large number of Japanese and Korean dishes available for order. The price is a bit more than what one would expect a standard sushi place. We got a good sample of both sushi and entrees. The sushi was fairly good, but there was mixed reaction to the hot dishes. The spicy bulgogi was on par with good Korean restaurants in Halifax, however I had the Gyūdon and I wasn't impressed. The beef didn't warrant much praise and the stir fried veg was too sweet and didn't add much flavour. I ended up wishing I had just gotten sushi. Overall not bad, but the extra $$ makes you wonder if it was really worth it. I imagine there isn't a whole lot of good competition in Moncton for Asian fare. read more

Really cool dining experience. Went there for my mom's birthday at their Teppanyakki. Loved it. The cook was very fun. Ordered the Tuna dinner and really enjoyed it. The scallops looked and smelled really nice too. It was like watching a show and eating dinner at the same time. You just cannot not enjoy it. Only down side is that it is quite pricey, I would only go there on special occasions. Plus you'd have to sit with strangers if you are not with a group of 8. Coz the cook can't start cooking if there is not enough people around the table. read more

This was very good. It is located within walking distance of several local hotels. The sushi tasted fresh. Several Asian entree options.

I really have nothing bad to say about our experience here. The food was delicious, and the service was great! The menu has a nice selection. I tried the special potato fry, it was really good. The only negatives would be the paper placemats and napkins are out of character with the decor and our server got our drink orders wrong twice and our appetizer order wrong then disputed it with us. Possibly the worst sashimi I have had. The white tuna was still frozen. The red tuna (or what they were trying to pass off as red tuna) was completely texture-less and bland, and the salmon was the same. It was an odd experience. The restaurant is divided in 2 sides; the restaurant side and the grill side. I've been to the Hibachi Grill side and it's very fun. It's like having dinner and a show. The food is prepared in front of you and served straight off the grill, piping hot! Always comes out delicious. Each grill seats 12 people and you need to make a reservation. You can go alone or with a large group of friends. You will be seated with other people if your group doesn't fill up all the seats but you still have a good time. read more

Ordered teriyaki shrimp and teriyaki salmon dinners for take out. Their menu states meals include miso soup green salad and steamed rice . We only received the steamed rice. The salmon was very overcooked and dry and the shrimp did not taste fresh. If there was teriyaki sauce involved I couldn't see it or taste it. My parents visited this restaurant two years ago and were really excited to find a truly authentic Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately when they brought me here this month, things changed. First of all, according to the menu, this is now operated by Koreans, so you can assume no more "authentic". Food is not great, but not bad either due to freshness of seafood, location wise (it's close to ocean). We had arranged, in advance, to have our extended family eat at Osaka Hibachi to celebrate my Father in Laws 90th Birthday! That's kind of a big deal right? Unfortunately, city workers clearing snow damaged the gas line and the restaurant was unable to host this event. Not their fault, out of their hands and I understand that but what was astonishing was the way management responded. The least they could have done was comped the drinks that the first six people in our party had received. Perhaps they should have worked the phones to get us a reservation elsewhere as they were unable to provide the service we had reserved. Or maybe they could have offered us a gift certificate or some other incentive to overcome our disappointment and entice us to try dining there some other time.nNope, they said they advised us that the restaurant would be closed for the night, slapped down the bills for the drinks that some of our party had received and left us to scramble around to find for seating for 15, two of whom are elderly and intuitively, suffering mobility challenges. Now the truly disappointing part is that as I passed by, on my way to the parked car after finding a nearby resto willing to take in 15 hungry souls, I glanced in the window at the happy patrons enjoying the food and ambiance of Osaka Hibachi. Seems they got the problem solved faster than anticipated. I won't be back! I doubt if any of us will ever be back, because they didn't treat us with respect. read more

Went there last night with friends. Never mentioned the grill side once during the reservation. This is not my first time asking for a reservation there and it was never assumed that they put you on the grill side. She had trouble understanding me and writing my name down. Made a reservation for 6 and changed it for 7. My friends got there at 7h30pm. They are from out of town and had to drive. The waitress, same lady that took the reservation comes to me very frustrated and ask me when they will be there. I say sorry many times and say they will be there in 5 min. We get seated at the grill but there is no cook. I dont ask questions because i think maybe the other side is full and also because the waitress is very rude. The waitress comes back and ask for our order. I order an appetizer to start and say i will order the main later. She tells me i cant do that because the cook has been waiting for us for 30 min and i have to order a main. In a very rude way i may add. So i catch on that we are getting the grill now and order the main. I dont make a big deal out of it because i dont want to make my friends uncomfortable and i think they did the same. we all wanted sushi. The cook actually made it fun. The food was good. Time to pay and we all get separate bills. My friend offers to pay for me because my husband got him a free night at the hotel. My husband couldn't join us that night. The waitress ask if its my birthday. I say no . Did she think i couldn't pay loll because i wanted to order an appetizer HA ! It is definitely not the case. I was dress a bit edgy because we were going to see a rock show after and She should keep her snarky comments to herself. All in all we spend 200$ on food we didn't even want and got bullied into it getting the grill. Very very rude waitress. I don't understand why they would have someone like that working there. Maybe she had a bad day but you cant take it out on your customers. I have been to that restaurant many times with friends and coworkers and was never treated that badly. I called today to speak to the manager and it was the same waitress that answered the phone. When i asked to speak to a manager she said that she was it and i could talk to her. I said no your are not and i would like to speak to the manager. She says shes not there at the moment. Anyways someone called my phone back. I didnt answer... We had reserved for 15 people to celebrate our grandfather's 90th birthday this evening. We arrived in groups and were offered drinks at we sat down. After the server had brought out the first five beer orders she informed us that there was presently a gas leak in the back which they had discovered just BEFORE we had arrived to the restaurant. Once all 15 of us were seated and ready to order, the server returned to let us know that the gas leak would not be fixed until the following day and therefore would be unable to serve us. Despite not being able to eat, celebrate as planned, and having to quickly find a new location that would accomadate 15 people at that moment, we understood that the gas leak was not something under the control of the restaurant. However, we were pretty shocked when the management insisted that we pay for drinks that hadn't yet been consumed. They did nothing that would entice us to come back in the future as there was absolutely no customer recovery in this situation. Just overall, really disappointed. read more
