Good was good and fresh - lots of choices to chose from. Price is fair. Service was good also !

The 7-day Tour East Bus trip that I'm traveling on stopped here; we have 50 tourists in our group. It's a meal stop so only a quickie review. The $325 meal plan includes 6 lunches and 6 dinners of which this restaurant is one of the venues. The last time I was at this Moncton restaurant was 2 years ago and I didn't think too highly of it. Well, today was redemption day. This eatery has improved so I'm giving it credit after viewing reviews written long ago by others. Prepare for great buffet items that were continuously replenished. I focused on the shelled shrimps, sushi, and won ton soup but sampled most items. Delicious! Server staff were quick to provide drinks and remove plates when done. Ok wow, my new fav Chinese food spot! I ordered the combo #2 and some sushi from skip the dishes The combo #2 had chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli, chicken balls, egg roll, wonton soup and it was so good! The rice is to die for its like smoky idk how to explain it but it's the best Chinese rice I've had! The beef and broccoli was delicious but the broccoli was a little under cooked and you don't get too much which is fine because it's a very filling meal. Egg roll was good (nothing special) The wonton soup was delicious! Very salty soup but I like salt hehe. For the sushi I got the California roll, it was okay. Very small sushi, I'd rather get my sushi at Sobeys lol! But overall, I can't wait to order from here again!! :) read more

Terrible service. Was in line at the no touch buffet, asked me to step aside to serve the person behind me. Thought maybe I'd went in front of someone without noticing so I let her go. Then asked me again to step back for the seconde time to serve someone else. Not gonna stand there and let people who arrived after me get served while I just wait. read more

Visited on Mother's Day. Excellent service at the table, by servers and managers. Food was prepared well and served at good temperatures except the hard ice cream was too soft so they need to address that issue. Sushi was decent and the cooked to order steaks were acceptable however too much salt for my taste. read more

1st time back since pandemic started and it was better then ever. Love the way you go to the buffet and they make your plate for you behind plexiglass. Food was awesome and the service was even better, Fast, Friendly and Attentive. Tables are spread out with lots of room. We will definitely be back, thanks for the great service. read more

Having never been to the Maple Leaf Queens Buffet, my partner and I were excited to try it. That was our first mistake. Staying was our second. I do not post this review lightly, and wish that there was something positive to say about this place, but there really is little I could honestly recommend here. The atmosphere is dark and gloomy. The server we had was unfriendly and seemed rushed. She did not explain how the buffet worked, and the only time she appeared at our table was to reach rudely in front of us to snatch away plates without even asking if we were done with them. The food....where do I begin? As a cook who has worked in many restaurants over the years, I was impressed by the selection, and some of the offerings did look decent. But that was where my positivity ended. The food ranged from tasteless to downright terrible. Some even tasted as though it was spoiled. I tried many things, but with the exception of two items it was all practically inedible. The fried rice and the sweet and sour chicken were actually not bad. When we left we were nearly verbally harassed by a young manager/supervisor who demanded on three occasions to know if we would be coming back. It just seemed really desperate, like he knew how bad the place really was. Do not waste your money on this fairly expensive nightmare. Go somewhere with decent service and far better food. I ate at the QUEENS BUFFET A FEW TIMES. The taste was GREAT. A lot of different flavours.I had this time Sushi, different types of shrimp, chicken rice and vegetables. Everything seemed fresh. The Waitress was exceptionally polite and respectful. Thanks Again for job well done read more

This is quite possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life. There wasn't a single thing at the buffet that was good. The chicken balls were chewy, the cherry sauce was incredibly thin and runny, even the bacon was incredibly tough and chewy. How in the world do you mess up bacon?! Not even the desserts were good, I've bought better desserts from a convenience store, which is probably where they got these. The only good thing I can say about it is that at least the service was friendly, but that does little to help the terrible food. I will agree with Wade on the 1 star. When you walk in its a big place with lots of room and selection but that's where the positive ends. The food is tasteless and cheap. The BBQ chicken was pressed chicken, the sweet and sour pork looked like stuff you wouldn't feed your dog. The seafood pasta they had was packed with simili crab and nothing else. I would go on but surely you get the idea. When our waitress came by she asked how everything was and when we told her how disappointed we were she just stared at us like she was just shocked. The manager then showed up and dismissed our disappointment by telling us how great it is and everybody else loves the food as I'd we were culinary challenged or aomething. I strongly recommend you don't bother with this place, when it was the china house the food was good.. Now it's downright aweful. Fantastic place! Semi-formal, fancy and lots of food to choose from! The staff is very friendly, pleasant and helpful! There is so many different kinds of food, including crab legs, sushi and roast beef, baked salmon, chicken wings, vegetables, etc. Third time here since it took over the former Chinese food place. Big mistake eating there. My wife and I were in the area and thought we would try the buffet. We both Like Chinese food but are often leary about buffets. It looked good but the only thing that tasted good was the chicken balls and rice. Dessert was terrible. The food was not at the right temperature, felt luke warm.I was sick the next day. read more

I have eaten here a few times and as far as buffets go, this one is good, not great though. The egg rolls were completely gross tasting (unsure how this is possible) but the shrimp and chicken balls were great. Steak included was a nice touch. 21 dollars with coupon wasn't so great either. For 21.00 without soft drink I think other buffets would be better. Cheesecake was good. read more

This place was downright awful! There was a big selection, but every bit of it was awful. My husband and I tried almost everything in the hopes that we would find something good; nothing was good. We left feedback with a manager, but they didn't seem fazed. We felt awful when we left, and were both sick overnight and into the next day. read more

Ate at the buffet last week. In one word. Disgusting and not fit for human consumption....I swear the rice is plastic there!!! Nothing about the buffet was good. I have also eaten at different locations and its all the same poor quality food and high prices. read more
