I found a little reminder that I am loved! Heart rock in the driveway with Ouray snow covered mountains in the back ground

Camped over night and had the most relaxing soak in this beautiful little sacred bubble of nature.

    Tent site

This is the best hot springs experience you can get in Colorado. This place feels like an oasis. It's magical. If you're looking to tent or vehicle camp- stay here. Especially if you want to winter camp. Facilities are very nice and up to date. This is a very CLEAN resort. The staff work extensively to maintain this place and it shows. You see this first hand as an overnight guest if you come in before or after public hours. You get 24 hour access to the springs as an overnight guest. They have like-new, large trex decking platforms for each tent site, all situated on a newer small-river-rock lot. Each site has plenty of space to park, and has its own steel fire ring. In the center of all of the sites is a new concrete pad with a large canopy over it, picnic tables, and a charcoal grill. There was a well maintained port-a-john outside by the tent sites available to use if you didn't want to venture inside the gate to the main restrooms (both the same short walking distance). The free showers in the womens restroom (can't speak for the mens) were honestly even nicer than mine at home. Large, like new, HOME showers with fancy newer shower heads. Shower water is preheated by the hot springs, so every shower taken was hot and relaxing! Bathrooms were clean every time-staff is attentive. The views are impeccable from this place, I'll include a photo or two below. Staff was always friendly and helpful, even very early in the morning and late at night. They have two cats roaming around that were extremely friendly. Definitely a highlight to see them wandering the grounds, if you are an animal lover. This is a clothing optional resort- but everyone minds their own space and business. Everyone was respectful. We seldom had anybody else near us, and clothed or not, people are most often submersed in the pools anyhow. They do also have a clothing-only pool inside with a separate entrance, and two private pool rooms inside that are first-come. There are so many pools to choose from, the parking lot can be full and you still feel like you are getting your own personal experience. Come in after public hours as a camper and you may just have a pool, or a large part of a pool to yourself. Far more relaxing and natural experience than a more popular Mt. Princeton. If you want a quiet more private and natural experience, visit Orvis.

    Port-o-potty for outside campers

This place was amazing and I absolutely cannot wait to return. The staff is so kind and helpful. It made us feel at home. The atmosphere was peaceful, beautiful, and healing. There was no loud or rowdy people when we were there and there is even a sign discouraging that behavior. For vehicle camping, you literally are parked in a gravel parking lot against a chain link fence and next to other cars. At first we were turned off by this, but we reminded ourselves that this was about the soaking experience. Being able to walk right out of the ponds and right into your tent is amazing. Not to mention, when you camp there you can soak all through the night and/or in the early morning before day use visitors. Most of the visitors were nude (both in and out of the ponds) and sometimes they might even sit right next to you in a small pond and strike up a conversation, so you have to be comfortable with that. There are various ponds/pools to choose from of various sizes and temperatures. At the time of our visit, we only saw one pre-teen boy and later two toddlers. Otherwise it was all adults. There is an indoor warm pool where clothing is required and is a good place for kids.

I've been to a lot of hot springs all over the country, but orvis really left an impression on me. Firstly, I love that it's clothing optional! A lot of hot springs in Oregon are like that and it just feels natural and right. It's also nice that electronics aren't allowed in the pools so you can feel comfortable basking in your birthday suit. The woman who helped me was very nice to talk with and helpful. She actually recommended Thai paradise to me (see Thai paradise review lol) and it was a 5 star experience as well. The soaking area reminds me of a secret garden or a little oasis. Beautiful fountains spilling into hot spring pools of different size and temperature. There's at least 6-8 pools I would say. Some are very small, others you can practically swim in! Chairs all around and a beautiful grassy lawn you can sunbathe in. What a luxury it was to soak in these healing waters, close my eyes and feel the suns warm rays and repeat. I ended the experience with a trip to the sauna followed by an icy plunge and then a very very hot pool. Yowza my skin was tingling! I found out that this is the only hot spring with lithium, which is very cool. High levels of magnesium detract from the typical sulphuric smell so it was very pleasant. You can lodge here as well and then have free access to the pools. I wanted to do that, but it was booked so plan accordingly! Even if you just do a day pass, it is worth every penny.

So beautiful and was very relaxing I would come back in a heart beat! It wasn't expensive at all to get in but remember to bring your own towels otherwise you can purchase a towel there for $10

We were checked in by a friendly lady who offered me a Veteran's discount. FWIW, currently, the prices charged seemed higher than those on the website, but lower than other soaking options. We brought our own towels and found a lounge chair to hold them. There are several pools and I was surprised to learn the lap pool is not geothermal water--cool city water there. The first pool was 88 degrees and designed for kids. Too chilly for me, but my son spent most of his time here playing water basketball and swimming around. Second pool was in the mid-90s and felt much better to me. I was also able to enjoy the 102 degree (about my threshold for being "hot") adults-only pool. Watching the pools and surrounding peaks as the sun set was awesome. Very nice. About these things were were stoked. We were not stoked to learn upon checkin that the slides had closed at 6pm, along with the activity pool. This info apparently relies on word of mouth--not their website--to know in advance. We'd have come the next morning had we known. Boo. Lame, even. With kids, this place is a winner if arriving well before the slides close. 6pm. You heard it here. Adults only? There are several better options nearby. 3.5 stars

I asked if we could be assigned to a quiet room (as I had read reviews complaining about the noise). Shea, the clerk, responded she could not reassign the room because I had used Expedia. I told her I don't use Expedia or third party when booking hotels. Her response to me was that I did use Expedia. She continued to argue with me. I even allowed her to review the reservation on my phone and she claimed it was third party. I went to the hotel website and attempted to book another room to prove that the hotel uses webrez. She said Expedia uses webrez. Just unbelievable nasty rudeness from her. Like I was lying. Her tone was so nasty I would score it a 20 out of 10. I asked for the manager and she gave me a card with Andy Stoll's cell number. I called while at the desk, he screens his calls and did not answer. At that point Shea states that she sees where the problem is, that there is another guest with a similar name checking in tonight and they used Expedia. At this point she had already confirmed my first name. She apologized but there was no coming back from the nastiness. It unbelievable that someone in customer service could behave this way. She represents the hotel and should be terminated.

Waterfalls , hiking trails , shopping, off road trails , dog park , water park ... and that's not even it ! For such a small town I'm impressed ! The hotel we picked is nice , not super luxurious but quaint . Friendly , helpful staff . They have a swing to sit on at the top of their hot springs tubs . I saw a lot of complaints about their hot tubs but there was a staff of people cleaning them today and some of them looked " slimier" than others , those looked like the ones most used . Up top were the best ones , but slippery getting in so be careful ! They have breakfast in the morning with eggs, sausage , bacon , waffles etc . We didn't go until after 9am and yes , they still had food and more coming out . Only complaint is that we have dogs ( there is a $30 person per night fee ) and had to stay on bottom floor .. the problem was that you could hear through the walls the people walking above you and to the side of you. There are also stairs to near bottom of the waterfall. The high bridge trail is much more challenging, although one can opt to only climb the stair portion for a better view of Ouray and a little cardio. At the top of the stairs there is a small shelter, if you're feeling the altitude at this point it's a good idea not to continue further, as the trail continues to climb and there are no stairs/structure. There is a cable above the trail in sections for stability, and cables below some sections for safety. I'd guess the top of the stairs is a little less than half way to the high bridge. The bridge is a very sturdy structure, over a steep narrow gorge, the views of Box Cañon, the creek, waterfall, and town below are breathtaking. There is a hallway-like tunnel on the far side of the bridge, which is part of the perimeter trail. It's low in some spots but walkable, and offers some shade and cooling after the climb. The trail was drub when we went, it would be significantly more challenging/difficult with any moisture or icy conditions.

The upper trail has a great view of Ouray and a fun bridge to cross that leads into a tunnel. It is $7 for each adult, but super seniors, military, and children under 4 are free!
