I have ZERO record in my call log of any call from your office.I have ZERO voice mails from your offices. I have all of this in my digital footprint.The kicker is also have a digital record of an appointment confirmation at 6 pm Monday night so I could tell you I am confirming the appointment.I also have a digital record of you asking me to begin the exhaustive check-in process online which I did yesterday. So everything we have a true record of indicates I had an appointment this morning. Watt D.O. refused to take care of my when I had my accident claiming that my bone will regrow on its own while I was at the ER with a complete broken shoulder splinted in numerous areas and separated from my shoulder, which it could be seen very clear on my x-ray. Next morning he sends his PA whom I threw out from my room and refused her care. And to add insult to the injury she charged social security for simply stepping into my room to reiterate the same garbage James F. Watt said over the phone at the ER doctor. Crestview office staff and especially the front desk Are a joke. Have been going there for almost two years. Had an appointment I was on time I was asked for my insurance card gave it to them and then they wanted my drivers license and I asked why they already had a pictured ID. they said they needed it but would not tell me why. They said it was there new policy and it was the law. the law says pictured id. They would never tell me why just the drivers license. So then they acted like they were all mighty and cancelled my appointment. Don't waste your time or money. Maybe one day when they run out of patients they will figure it out. read more

I am going to start by saying, if it quacks like a duck. Reason is when almost all of the reviews refer to the same problem through the years, there is definitely a problem that has not been remedied. My experience like most, starts with the staff not listening or understanding what the patient is saying. I broke my foot in 3 places while out of state. After CT scans showed the type of injuries, the ER was not thrilled to have me travel. I signed a release and was nicely patched up (boot, antibiotics, crutches, copies of everything and thorough care instructions) for travel. I was also told to see Ortho surgeon as soon as I arrived at my destination. Called this group, gave the young lady all the back-info and got appt. Upon arrival new patient paperwork was needed (this triggered that "look", like why didn't I do this online already - wow, not a hello, good morning, zip). Completed that and told her that I was carrying all ER paperwork and a CD of the CT scan. Was told that none of it was necessary since the Doctor will do his own evaluation (ok, there's that look again). A few more call backs to counter for more information and more looks of irritation, then finally, I'm called to see doctor. Dr. (no longer with this group) does a quick look at foot; say he's going to x-ray and off I go for pic. He reads x-ray and says he saw nothing there (now I am giving him that look). Asked him if maybe he would like to see the "stuff" I brought with me with all the info and the CD of the CT scan. Ok, now he gives me "that look", the one that says, "why didn't you show me this to begin with". So now we're back to step 1, because I was told my stuff wasn't needed. This doctor has read the CT scan and now has decided it was not a figment of my imagination. Cut to the chase... If the "irritations and looks were eliminated", the appointment would have been fairly smooth and definitely shorter. All it would have taken was better care at the point of origination - the front desk. I have never been back to this group, and I would not ever return. I don't expect joy when I walk into a doctor's office, but I do expect civility. From the newest reviews here, I see that nothing has changed in a year. read more

I have such disdain for this place i am leaving my first ever review. I drove from Kingston to Fishkill for my first visit and i was told my appointment had been canceled the day prior. I had to comeback the next day. I saw Dr. Renaldo who seemed he had zero concern and told me it was arthritis. I returned six weeks later for follow up, i was told my appointment had been canceled once again. I told them i got the confirmation text the day before, how is it canceled, this is the second time. The appointment was rescheduled for the following month, this month and they canceled it again without any advanced notice. I would avoid this place as if it were the black plague. read more

Definitely do not go here. I went for a consult on May 28th for my 3 tibia fractures. First the check in staff was rude, then I had to wait over an hour after my appointment time which was difficult considering I had broke my leg 5 days prior. Then our insurance settled our account on June 11th, but we have been calling for for 4 months about them refunding us for the co-pay that our insurance paid them. It's a new story every time, September it became a software issue that they lost all their data so we needed to be patient. it's now October 8th & we have spoken with 3 different people & still nothing. I went in for a simple procedure on a finger, the office staff seemed to be having a bad day, so I just figured that was that and continued with having an X-ray done and getting scheduled for surgery. The day before my surgery I was contacted by a nurse in there department and could not believe how rude and abrasive this woman was, I answered her questions and went ahead with the details for my surgery the next day. Some of the details of my procedure just didn't add up, and I just felt very uncomfortable with that, plus the fact of how rude. After carefully considering my options I cancelled my surgery. The entire time I had been in touch with Orthopedic associates about this procedure I had also been working with Andrews institute, there is no comparison between the two, I will never contact O. A. For any reason in the future. Just a terrible experience. read more

I had a new-patient appointment with Orthopaedic Associates at the Destin Office next week, but I never got that far and I am leaving a review to give a heads up to other potential new patients. As part of the new patient paperwork packet, patients are required to sign an "Arbitration Agreement between Doctor and Patient" form. This form basically states that no matter what happens ("...in the event of any controversy or dispute which might arise between the doctor and the patient, regardless of whether the dispute concerns the medical care rendered, or payment of surgical or other fees, or any other matter whatsoever...") that you must agree to binding arbitration "in lieu of, and instead of, any trial by judge or jury." It further requires that this agreement is honored by anyone else that is not you (e.g., your family would not be able to sue them either). I called to check that this agreement is a mandatory requirement to be seen, and the person answering the phone at the Destin office confirmed this to be accurate. Now, I've never sued anyone in my life and think it highly unlikely that a situation would come to that, but still, I'd have to be stupid to sign away any right I have, up front, to sue a doctor in the event of medical malfeasance. What if I needed a surgery and I ended up paralyzed (or dead) and it was actually the surgeon's fault due to a mistake s/he made? Again, I have never sued anyone, for anything, but I question the ethics of mandating that patients sign away their rights in this way and I definitely that doing so would be very ill advised. So, once Orthopaedic Associates confirmed that signing this form is a requirement to be seen, I cancelled. It was clear from their attitude that they couldn't care less (which, ironically, only added to my concerns about this practice). I was already about 30 minutes into filling out the new patient paperwork packet when I came across this little gem on the 14th page and called to confirm, so heads up to anyone else that may also not be comfortable with this requirement before you get too far into spending your time on completing all this paperwork. Recent appointment with Robert White was very disappointing. he was not aware of my condition and acted as if he never heard of it. he provided no medical options or solutions and basically wasted my time. the office was completely focused on money as the first thing they made you pay was the remaining portion of my deductible instead of billing me after the claim was submitted. overall experience was very poor. read more

Much to my sadness, from the time i checked in, through the time I checked out, I was treated with much disrespect from the young workers at the desk. They disregarded what I said Tricare sent me in for, eye rolled, and basically treated me as if i was not a person. At first I loved the place and thought everyone was nice. I had an ACL injury that required surgery and physical therapy which began over a year ago. During the past year I've had three steroidal injections over a year and was given pain meds (tramadol), that I thought, were AS NEEDED. During this yr of recovery I had to get at least three refills of tramadol which was usually a 7 day supply to get me through the tougher days. Well my problem happened about a couple months ago when I requested more pain meds for my knee and I was told to speak to my physician's (Dr Seales) nurse who was incredulous because I was still experiencing pain. This woman practically accused me of being a pill popping druggie and should come in for a reevaluation. Just so I could get my pain meds I agreed to a new evaluation which they scheduled for the day before I was supposed to get my knee injected to ease the pain. How freaking asinine!!! I was made to go two whole months without being seen by anyone in this office. I'm not going back to this facility and will be looking for another surgeon and possibly contacting an attorney for the implied slander. Think long and hard before subjecting yourself to these people. They had absolutely no problem billing the VA for tens of thousands of dollars on my behalf but that ends as well! read more

He is very personable, professional, and understands my active lifestyle. We openly discuss various treatment options, and he is honest with each choice. I received a VA referral to this organization at the FWB location to book an appointment and they REFUSE to pick up the phone. Mind you I have been on hold for 15 minutes at a time with no answer going on three times and when I request a call back still have not received one. I have even gone on the website and utilized the book an appointment feature with no response. I go to the office (with a torn Achilles mind you) to request an appointment and get told there is a VA team and they give me no number or anything for me to establish some sort of contact with SOMEONE. This is a terrible reflection of customer service to the point that this is the first bad review I have ever written. I hear good things about the care but have yet to be given a chance to even book an appointment. I will give a star because one of the ladies at the front desk gave me an updated Fax number and let me know the email provided was for an employee that doesn't even work there anymore. I was not the patient. My 79-year-old mother was. As for the doctors, I can't say whether or not they are good. After driving more than 100 miles to the office, mom was treated by a PA who was quite nice but did nothing. No treatment of any kind. We were told mom's MRI had to be hand-delivered from Panama City, another 100-mile drive one way. But the front office receptionists are, without question, the rudest I have dealt with. On the phone with mom, the receptionist was clipped and rude. I drove to Panama City and then delivered the DVD to the Fort Walton office, but when I tried to explain that all I needed to do was hand them the disc, the receptionist cut me off mid-sentence and kept me waiting half an hour to simply hand her a DVD. Dr Tenholder seemed the right choice for my knee replacement but my knee is very stiff and painful and they do not seem to have a solution to make it right. I suffered an injury my last day of rehab and I feel the therapist was responsible nothing was done about this I couldn't walk for two weeks. They did not seem to think manipulation would work but did not seem to have an answer why it wasn't possible. I think my Dr dropped the ball for the last nine months... maybe need to consult some other professionals. read more

The front office staff are sweet, but totally inefficient. I called from Thailand to try and get an appointment because the doctor in Thailand told me I needed to have knee replacement surgery. The front office would not give me an appointment until I had completed their multi page document which covered my entire life medical history as well as that of my parents and my children and my siblings and then they wanted copies of all of my insurance cards, all of my drivers license, my Social Security number Provided to them.. they lost it and I had to fill out this form four times before they would give me an appointment. The date of the appointment I had to fill out the whole multi page form again because once again they lost it. After doing that, they finally took x-rays and put me not with the doctor but with a PA. The PA said that she disagreed with the doctor in Thailand and I did not need knee replacement surgery. What I needed to do was spend the next six months to two years living right here in Fort Walton Beach and coming to see them every month for physical therapy shot injections all the other stuff and after couple of years if these temporary measures didn't make my knee better then I could ask for the surgery. I did not fly halfway around the world to play silly games. I left and went to another orthopedic surgeon in the area, and I am now scheduled for replacement. If you wanna waste a lot of money and your time with this company, if you'd like to get your knee or hip injury repaired I recommend you go to someone else. I did read more

My wife had an appointment today that she made a week ago. They told her to come in at 10:30am today, 8/7/2024, to fill out paperwork since she was a new patient and that her appointment would be at 11am. We drove all the way from PCB to Destin (28 miles) and got there exactly at 10:30am only to be told that our appointment was at 10:15am which was never the case and wouldn't have allowed her the proper time to fill out the paperwork. Even though it was their mistake with no notification changing the appointment and she was only 15 minutes later than the time they said her appointment was, they told her the doctor couldn't see her and would have to make another appointment. The receptionist did nothing to work with her to try to get her in to see the doctor even though it was their mistake. Needless to say, my wife won't be going to that Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Thackeray, nor will she be scheduling both knee replacements. A word to the wise, be wary of the appointment schedulers and verify every appointment with them even though they may not notify you. read more

It's too early to rate Orthopedic Associates entirely however I can tell you that today I called at 4:57 to explain that the scheduling with them, my mother and the hospital didn't coincide. Carley or Carla was helpful until 5:01. She then explained she was no longer getting paid and would longer be able to answer questions. Truly she is a class act! Her customer service is truly disgusting! Let's hope the remaining appointments go better! I will update I originally rated them one star however after my mother's surgery and follow up, Dr. Cook has changed my opinion. While Kaylie wasn't understanding or sympathetic, Dr. Cook was amazing to my parents. His surgery was a success and bedside manner was excellent. He was extremely patient and caring. I've had 2 surgeries in the past, one on each foot and the experience was good, and healed quickly. The reason for giving a one-star rating is because the last time that I had an appointment and I made sure that the Doctor was in my insurance network so I wouldn't have to pay extra. When I arrived at my appointment I told them that I have an appointment with Dr. Macy, the receptionist told me that my appointment is with Dr. White, I questioned why the change of doctors but no good excuse. I paid my deductible and a month later I received a bill for an additional $50 for seeing an Out of Network doctor. I called the billing dept. and explained what happened thinking it might be insurance fraud or a way to make more money for the stockholders, or it could be a training issue. All of my other doctors will make sure that they connect you with a doctor that's in your Network if they have to refer you and Orthopaedic Associates failed to do so. The billing manager has not returned my call and it's been 2 months and every time that I call to speak to her she is never available for some reason. read more

Great Experience with Dr Thomas Fusco, DPM, and his nurse Ms. Rainy is always very cheerful and helpful with my paperwork. I had bunion surgery and also a cyst removal on same foot, the foot surgery work looks beautiful after healing. Dr Fusco listened to all my concerns before surgery. Then afterwards we discussed treatments to deal with weak my foot & ankle, soreness, and other areas. He prescribed Physical Therapy so as I can gain back muscle mobility, gain back my balance, and loosen inside painful scar tissues. I am diabetic type 2, overweight, and arthritis issues, which Fusco has addressed in my treatment plans for PT. My PT therapist is Cole Morgan, who is awesome, great listener, and understands my physical concerns, also motivates my with interesting different routines on each session. He is always well prepared and properly dressed professionally, so as to be able demonstrate all correct techniques needed for each exercise. After 2 months of PT I am very happy with my progress, and plan to continue for many more months. I highly recommend Dr Thomas Fusco, Ms Rainy, and Mr Morgan. read more

This guy is No Nonsense. He was able to recognize the issue I was having with my foot in a matter of minutes. Not only did they not need to rerun x-rays that were sent from Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast he saw a stress fracture immediately. He is very Curt and to the point and I think that is the best way medical professionals should be. Although I had to wait a little while it was perfectly fine because he genuinely takes care of his patients. Dr. A is by far the best podiatrist I have ever seen in my life. I love the fact that he can recognize an issue analyze an x-ray and make some kind of diagnosis and or decision very quickly because he is such a smart and talented individual. Orthopedic Associates has a couple locations in the Panhandle Destin and Fort Walton , I think, but they are no-nonsense professionals with very professional staff Billing and secretaries ,amazing customer service. I have been seen before at the FWB location as well as the Destin location. Seven months ago when I first injured my foot and now I've reinjured it. They are very nice but ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. It says "all of our customer are representatives are unavailable" and that is it. No option to hold... I've called all three locations and have gotten the same message... for a couple of days. I will NEVER again visit this office, contact you for information, or even acknowledge your office exists. Last visit My appointment was early in the morning. I had to pay this office $200.00 (this was above what my insurance had paid.) for the privilege of sitting in your waiting room for over two hours! Mind you I was the only one in the waiting room, with exception of a few people arriving for their therapy, two hours with no explanation! WHY I was the first appointment for the day. After entering the exam room, when the doctor(still do not know his name as he did not introduce himself) entered all conversations where about just what my insurance would pay. I was required to bring x-rays and a MRI on disk, this office charged me over $200.00 just to look at the disk (which I really do not think it was even reviewed). I am still receiving bills from this, so called medical practice, that I will not pay. There was a time when Doctors were truly concerned with the PATIENTS WELFARE and well being than only interested in their insurance and bank accounts. I am incensed about my wife's experience with the post-operative care from Orthopaedic Associates. I give only one star, and I am a fair person. My wife had a surgery (I will leave out the doctor's name since my comments are laregly on the system itself and how they operate - no pun intended), and experienced some pain and maybe infection that did not seem normal (after two weeks). After calling the office and asking for assistance, no doctor called back. The pain worsened so we called the after-hours answering service that said an on-call physician would get back to us. By the next day, no call. I called again only to find that the answering service had an out-dated greeting indicating office closure due to inclement weather. Finally got a hold of someone in the office and was told a clinical supoervisor would call me back in a few minutes. I spent the few minutes writing this review and still have not received a call back. The practice appears to be kind of 2nd tier compared to the rest of the country. The front desk is about a 2 or 3 out of 5, they have no wi-fi (it's 2020 folks!!!!), and they are kind of cold. One young lady is just a total charmer (sarcasm). Folks....these are patients that come to you with medical issues, pain, discomfort....show some empathy and have a nice dispositon towrd them...they are your customers but human first so they should be treated much more kindly. Couple the overall experience with the recent experience, and they could never really come close to what practicies in larger metropolitan areas could deliver in terms of experience. I know I blasted them a bit but maybe someone there will consider what really lies below the "blast" and consider making some operational changes. Maybe the fact that Destin is not a thriving metropolis, the resource pool is not as outstanding either...in any case.... read more

Avoid this place! I called and first questions were to get all personal information including SSN. When questioned about it they said they would be unable to make an appt until I gave them SSN. Can you say identity thief. I asked for a manager but they just echoed the same process and would not give any appt info. I politely asked to have info deleted. this place is terrible. I went to get my cast replaced because i broke my old one from a different orthopedic. They dont know how to put on casts. my old cast stopped the movement of my thumb but still let my other fingers move. this place didn't. they covered my whole hand for no reason. they also put my cast on so tight that my fingers are pulsing. 0/10 would not recommend read more

I saw Dr. Marshall after I was a pedestrian in an auto accident. He performed two surgeries on my knee so that I could run again one day. There was litigation involved and Dr. Marshall chose to state for the litigation that I would recover to 100% functionality of my knee. Unfortunately, that was incorrect and not only can I not run but it still is painful to even walk at times. My knee still sometimes goes out on me. Now that Dr. Marshall stated that I would recover 100% I didn't get enough money settled to pay for an additional surgery. I wish his forecast would have been more accurate.
