I received a referral from my insurance over the phone and came here for an evaluation. I filled all my paperwork and waited for a half hour before being called back up and told they actually didn't accept my insurance and I would need to pay out of pocket immediately. They rushed me along and said I could either pay or not be seen. It was getting close to closing time, so I called my nurse hotline again to receive another referral, while still being rushed by the front desk. It turns out that this clinic actually is authorized within my network and they had directly sent the correct referral, but the front desk was confused with how to interpret the referral. By that time, they said it was too late for an exam and I was sent elsewhere. My insurance network has reported them for being out of compliance with their network policies and for attempting to persuade for an up front payment instead of through the appropriate insurance policies. They were friendly and I don't believe they intentionally mislead me, but not knowing policies up front on an insurance company as large as Tricare led me to this confusion and ultimately delayed care by 3 hours.

As a veteran using my VA Urgent Care Benefit (for which I am exempt from copays), I provided the necessary VA billing information. The staff refused to follow established VA Community Care procedures and insisted on a personal credit card to hold as collateral. This is a direct violation of their agreement as a VA network provider. It is unacceptable to turn away a veteran in pain who has followed all the correct protocols. If you are a veteran in the Chelsea area, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere for care, as this facility clearly does not understand or prioritize their contract with the VA to serve those who have served.

I admit I have had to go to Medhelp in Pelham several times over this past year with respiratory infections of some sort. I have a tendency to have an awful cough day and night and the only thing that works is a cough medicine yes with (omg a narcotic). Dr. Wever's nurses and staff are wonderful but today he treated me as if I was only seeking drugs. I am writing this at 3:30am because I got prescribed "pearls" which are the equivalent to taking a tic tac so, I am awake coughing. This bodes well for my nursing students tomorrow. I realize there are people just wanting drugs and, if that was the case, I could get better drugs outside of the office if I wanted. I was there for help with this cough and, to listen to my lungs, Dr. Wever barely touched the stethoscope to my back ( in just two places) and two on the front. Never asked me to take a deep breath or even looked at my throat. He made his mind up I was only there for a tiny bottle of cough medicine, that would not get me far if my goal was to get high. I love paying a co-pay and to take time off work to be viewed the way I was, and to still be up coughing. I also didn't appreciate his nurse being the one to tell me he did not prescribe me any cough medicine. That was not her responsibility to explain why he chose not to treat my cough appropriately. The front staff and all nurses there are absolutely wonderful and this review does not reflect on them in any way. I had a wonderful doctor there for a few months (Dr. Jerew) that had the heart of a physician, but he moved out of state. Although not a specialist, he helped quarterback my health care. I was turned away by the Covid nurse because I had other issues and she said it wasn't long covid. When asked about my heart rate getting too slow, she said, "drink some caffeine." And yet the specialists are saying my issues originated with Covid. After Jerew, I was sent to Kay Willoughby In October and I told her my struggles with PCPs and that I just needed bloodwork twice a year, treatment for infections (sinus, etc.), and refills for very simple medications that haven't changed in over a year. I offered every opening to say "no, go see another doctor."My specialists send updates and my care is not intensive nor does it require even Pallative care. Just simple refills for very simple medications. I was told last week that Dr. Willoughby requested that I move to an internist. No problem. I started looking and couldn't get an appointment before about a month. then I received a message saying she would not refill medication. These are very simple medications, but I have to be on them. So I'm left with no beta blocker Which is the smallest dose possible, but vital to my health. I do not recommend this clinic any longer. And that hurts my heart because my entire family has been patients for over 40 years.
