On Feb 25 I went into the ambulatory surgery center to repair a radial fracture. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by a nice receptionist with black hair-friendly and pleasant From there Lisa the RN showed me into the prep area and told me to take off all my clothes--which she kindly (with no attitude) helped me accomplish this because I can only use one arm She was marvelous and did a great job starting my iv catheter Next Dr Lee -the anesthesiologist-super cool doc Knowledgeable, answered all my concerns Then Lira an RN from the Philippines--absolutely wonderful,caring and a kind nurse She helped me re-dress and even tried to straighten my hair (which looked like a birds nest )after surgery Then finally Dr Goldstock-super cool doc I'm sure he fit me in on his busy day--because I was his last surgery Overall rating 5-STARS More STARS if I could give them Wonderful experience Carla Hernas VMD read more

I was first referred to ortho ny for back pain about 10 years ago. In acute pain I entered through their onsite urgent care which was quicker than waiting for an appointment. I received same day treatment for my pain and had an easier time recovering. In all my experiences with providers here. Each one has shaken my hand when we meet the first time. They have shown me my scans and walked me through any issues they saw. They have even gone so far as to go over the medical notes with me to confirm all details before entering so the are no surprises afterwards. I wish more providers took this level of care and responsive approach to their patients. read more

Dr. Hadid at Ortho NY on Everett Rd in Albany was wonderful. He took one look at my left middle finger which was stuck. He said,"That looks like a trigger finger." He explained that it was caused by a tendon problem. He took out a needle and gave me a shot. The pain disappeared almost immediately and my finger regained full mobility within several days, What I didn't like, was the check-in process. The staffer at the counter was unfriendly. She handed me a tablet and told me to answer all of the questions. I tried.There so many unnecessary questions I couldn't finish and in fact, I nodded off. The tablets had protective rubber covers. I don't know if they sanitize them after each use but they looked grimy. I wasn't surprised when I came down with a cold a couple of days later. I wished I'd remembered to use hand sanitizer after handling the tablet-- that's on me-- but that part of the experience was exhaustive. I'm taking one star off for the horrible check-in. read more

My experience taking my mother to ortho ny has been terrible. Go to Bone and Joint, not this terrible practice. The receptionists are rude and heartless. My 90 year old mother was 10 min late for her follow up appt and the PA refused to see her. They callusly told her to come back another time. When I tried to help her, the office manager came out and rudely told me to take my mother and leave. Dr Jackson is a decent doctor, but all the PA'S, especially Emily Ech are the WORST people i have ever met and should NOT BE PRACTICING MEDICINE. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. ​ They think they can get away woth this, bc if you complain, they just discharge you from thr practice!! There is no fairness or respect here for the patient. Dr.Single, who is newer to the OrthoNY practice, is just the kind of doctor I like to see. After talking about what my hip /knee issues were he explained the causes related to the imaging. We decided on a cortisone shot as a first line of defense and he let me know each step as he administered it. He was on time and extremely efficient. read more

They say something is covered, out in the wrong code and after many calls and requests still don't make a correction. When asked to fix it, they never called the insurance company back in over a year and said it's "patient responsibility" to pay but also never resubmitted the right code. I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by my experience at OrthoNY Urgent Care in Clifton Park, NY. I went there after suffering from severe, throbbing pain for over 48 hours. According to OrthoNY's own website, urgent care is meant to provide relief for acute pain and accidental injuries. That is exactly why I went -- not to change my treatment plan, not for surgical follow-up -- but for immediate relief from unbearable pain. Instead of being evaluated by a medical professional, I was stopped by an administrative staff member named Chelsy, who told me they could not treat me because I had surgery performed by a different doctor at another facility. I was informed that my medical records would first need to be obtained and reviewed by an OrthoNY physician before they could even consider seeing me. I was denied care without any clinical evaluation despite being in significant pain. The decision appeared to be made entirely by administrative staff, which is unacceptable at a facility that advertises urgent care services. Chelsy instructed me to contact the physician's secretary, Samantha. I left Samantha a voicemail approximately 16 hours ago and have yet to receive a callback. This further reinforces the impression that the priority here is protecting physicians rather than helping patients who are actively in pain. Patients seeking urgent care deserve at minimum to be evaluated by a provider -- not turned away at the front desk without assessment. If OrthoNY promotes urgent care as a resource for pain relief, then its policies and staff actions should reflect that commitment. This experience was frustrating, disheartening, and completely contrary to what urgent care is supposed to provide. I strongly urge OrthoNY management to review who is authorized to deny care and how patients in acute pain are being handled. read more

I arrived 10 minutes late to my first appointment and dr alfandre refused to see me. "He doesn't see patients who are late, let's reschedule you for another day". I'm coming directly from the emergency room after having xray and CT scan, confirming diagnosis: communated tibial plateau fractured with depression (more than one break in my shin bone, at the knee, and it's pushed in). I have no wheelchair. It took me at least 15 minutes to get from my car to this doctors counter. I tried to call ahead as I was arriving, to ask for a wheelchair because I know i'm really slow right now, and I'min excruciating pain.... but they dont answer the phone! If a doctor can't spare me 10 minutes, especially knowing my diagnosis and the excruciating and debilitating pain I'm in, which has absolutely decimated my mobility, then I have no interest n rescheduling with him or anyone else within his organization. I had a total knee replacement (TKR) on my left knee performed by Dr. Johnathan Gainor in 04/25 This has been one of the most painful and disappointing experiences of my life. Shortly after surgery, I developed an infection that required a full week in the hospital. I contacted Dr. Gainor's office repeatedly after surgery, desperate for help, but my calls went unanswered for days. I was finally seen five days later--only to be sent straight to the ER. When I saw him again three weeks later due to persistent pain, he said he "didn't know what to do" and referred me to pain management. At no point did Dr. Gainor make a genuine effort to determine the root cause of my knee pain. He never ordered additional tests or took any meaningful steps to investigate why I continued to suffer. Instead, he dismissed my concerns and sent me away to another doctor, avoiding his own responsibility to his patient. It has now been six months since the surgery, and I continue to live with pain read more

The receptionists ARE SO RUDE. The nurses and Doctors are all fantastic and take the time to listen to what you need but as soon as you walk in, you are NOT met with a friendly face. The doctors there at OrthoNY are great and one doctor's nurse is very responsive, however in general phone calls and messages are not returned. Unless a nurse makes your MRI appointment the MRI department does not return messages. I have left 4 messages over the course of a week and not one return call. I'm in pretty constant pain but that doesn't seem to be their concern or a priority. In general I assume this is a system issue (overworked, under staffed etc.) but after my current issues get addressed I'll go back to the Bone and Joint Center. It's a shame too because I really like and appreciate my doctors there. read more

Went in for a shoulder problem. They decided it was my neck. Even after an MRI showed it wasn't my neck, they treated me with an injection as if it was. Hand still going numb. Shoulder still bad. Had a reaction to the shot they gave me and they didn't even call back. They are the worst. I'm sure the intense pain will back in due time. Nothing like treating the symptom and not the problem. Don't bother if you expect any kind of curtomer/patient service. Every step is an argument from getting an appointment to being treated like a human to getting your records. Each step is harder than the last. But the billing department is Johnny on the spot. I am sorry. I like my doctors there but their appointment and phone answering system is absolutely the worst. After keeping you on hold for 20 minutes they are happy to transfer your call to someone who isn't there and has no answering machine. All the repeated messages about your call being important to them are a joke. Your call is not important, its an annoyance. Obviously, their recorded message tells you that you can hang up at any time. I do not understand how professional people can hire such unprofessional staff and have such an annoying answering system to be their public face. Did not take my chief complaint seriously. Did not look at me at all did not examine me. Made a decision by just looking at X-ray. Stated he couldn't help me. Rushed me out. I was crying and shocked appalled. He an unprofessional doctor who appears not to like people in general. Would not recommend!! When you give me a callback and start a sentence with "no, i won't call you back for that" or "no, i don't talk to the doctor before i call you back", come on now, "patient care coordinator", doesn't that include communication with me and the doctor? You were horrible at your job and i stand by the chosen words i had for you. As long as i didn't ever get a chance to have OrthoNY talk to me about what went on during that call-i am considered suing you. read more

This will be a long review. I went to Ortho NY last year for a shoulder injury. My initial time there, they took a X ray of my shoulder, and then I met with Dr Kaback. I have seen a few crappy reviews on him, but I'll be honest. Dr. Kaback while kind of in a rush (very busy place), he was funny, friendly, short, but to the point. He gave me a injection that I didn't even feel, and the relief was almost instant. All around really great experience with him. I then returned a month later for a MRI, and then another visit with Dr Kaback a week later to discuss the results. Torn rotator cuff, could use surgery, but gave me a PT option via a phone App. Phone App was not a free App to install, but I was never informed that there would be any kind of fee besides the initial install. I used it a handful of times, got my PT routine down, stopped using the App. I'm a fairly active person, so of course I needed another shot. I called, was given a fairly quick date to get in and see Dr Kaback again. We talked a bit (he noted that I seem to be ok living with a little pain, which made him laugh), he gave me another painless injection in my shoulder, and away I went. I've had some serious downtime for another separate medical issue, but have kept up with my now leaned PT activities, but now after being super active again, I've been considering another injection.... ok, now the bad part. Whenever you walk into any of their facilities, you must pay your Co-pay before you can even be seen by any Dr. I paid with my debit card each time, but suddenly about 7 months ago, I received a bill for Co-pays due of $75.00, with no explanation. I call, we talk, and I'm given dates that I was apparently there (but really wasn't). I tell them that I was not there on those days, and unless it's something that I'm not aware of, I think the bill is incorrect. We end the phone call, and no more bills are received, UNTIL... I received a automated bill via Email yesterday, showing a past due amount of $75.00. I just called them, and talked with a rep who clearly saw that I had paid everytime that I was there, and couldn't tell me what the bill is for. He then sends me to another rep., who explains to me that the bill is actually from the phone App!!! SERIOUSLY?? You mean the one that I paid to install on my phone, and literally used a couple, maybe 3 times?? WOW... Maybe you should be more clear on your billing practices. I was never told that each time I access the phone Ap, I will be billed my Co-pay as if I were actually in the office seeing a therapist for a real physical therapy session?? Good place, Dr Kaback was really good to me, but the billing for using the App is literally just a stupid money grab. I personally will never return. read more

got cortisone shots in both knees, 8 days later right interior knee hurting and hard to walk on, called Ortho and asked about a MRI. Was told no matter what the results of the MRI were the treatment would be the same. I was told this from Jenelle Powell. Why have an MRI machine if all the treatments are the same? I went to see Dr. Abraham, whom I had seen for hip pain 2 months earlier. I waited for 2 hours that time but figured that there must be a scheduling back up since my appointment was later in the day. This morning I had a 8:00 AM appointment. By 9:00 Dr. Abraham had apparently not yet come in to work so I decided to leave as I was fed up. The staff were embarrassed and very nice and promised to call me for an appointment with another doctor by lunchtime. It is now close to 5 and no call. This is inexcusable. read more

I will tell you how: because you care more about money than you do about the health of your patients. You think nothing of demanding patients arrive on time and then make them wait for an hour to see a doctor, OR you schedule two appointments on the same day, and then refuse to allow the patient ME see either because you mistakenly believe that my insurance won't pay for two appointments on the same day - WITHOUT EVEN VERIFYING IT. He does not listen, does not discuss the problem, does not explain anything and his criteria-steroid shot, physical therapy or surgery. Did not even offer to do an MRI before making diagnoses. Went to the Urgent Care in Clifton Park for severe back pain. I was told they don't give pain meds. Was given Medrol which reduced pain but didn't eliminate it. I called Dr Jackson (pain management at Ortho) who is wonderful and couldn't get injection for nearly a month. Something is wrong with this system. read more

First the PA that work with Dr suslak is very rude. Both Dr act like you are bothering them with questions. The front desk older woman extremely rude. Saying they fax as a privlage tobthe patients and its our responsibility to get it to the correct place. First of all workers comp the dr office sends everything on. They also dont pay attention to who they are billing because they want their money quick. They are terriblebfor workers comp patients. They also do not help with any other appointments. They hand you a paper and say basicly figure it out. I work for a dr office. I cant imagine being rude and disrespectful to patients . Also not willing to help. Wow. So taken back. In my recent need I found it easy to get appointments via the Ortho NY website. I was able to schedule myself at a time and day that was convenient for me for Urgent Care. It was equally easy to schedule an appointment with my Physician on the web site as well. You simply enter your contact info, the Physician you need to see (or would like to see), and a scheduler will call you typically within 48 hours to schedule your appointment. Additionally, I could not wait three weeks for follow up with the Physician. The Scheduling clerk was able to pass my info along to someone who I believe was a Patient Care Coordinator. That person was able to schedule me with my Physicians Assistant. I would only ask for this option if you truly can`t wait. Most Physician`s offices are opting toward alternative ways of communication with patients. I see many complaints here about scheduling and thought this may help. read more

If this chain of incompetent "doctors" could be rated negative stars, that is exactly what it would get. Aside from the painfully rude office staff who consistently degrade and dismiss patient queries, the doctors make you run from the Albany location to the Clifton Park location (per their referrals) and when you arrive they call each other competitors and refuse to even so much as review your x-rays. But oh my do they take your copay right away. Folks- stay away. There are other doctors like the bone and joint specialists of NY who take time and care and are here for patients rather than lining their pockets.
