Kinnebrew Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Kinnebrew Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

My husband has seen Dr. Kinnebrew for years. I have been treated byDr, Kinnebrew for two seperate…read moreissues, the last being a head on accident. Dr. Kinnebrew would not touch my shoulder until I had my ruptured discs repaired. He did, however give me cortisone injections to ease the pain. I saw him after my neck surgery and he wanted to try physical therapy first. I can tell you this; Dr. Kinnebrew does not do the PT, he has a group in his building that does and that is a plus for me. I don't want to drive all over town getting care. I have not seen the man Bob N from Byron described. I KNOW Dr Kinnebrew isn't a yes man for the insurance companies but I also know he is smart enough to recognize a sandbagger wanting to be out of work longer than needed. I would rather have a brilliant, orthoepedic surgeon, very knowledgeable, a loving husband and father, who doesn't mince words in getting to the diagnosis and treatment, than a song and dance man, hemming and hawing about what might be the best thing to do. Dr. Kinnebrew is a fine surgeon, and excellent diagnostician. He might run late because of emergencies at the hospital or another patient needing him longer. He spends as much time with each patient as he needs to. He does see many patients, because he is the best in the area. Bring a book and be patient. You won't be disappointed. The Core Physical Therapy Group, in his office are better than you could imagine!

My daughter got prior approval from her insurance (Blue Cross/Blue Shield Federal) to get gel…read moreinjections in her knees instead of going though extensive surgery at the age of 40. The shots were a series of three, one a week for 3 weeks. After getting 2 of the 3, we get a call from Middle Georgia Ortho, 2 working days before the 3rd injection, telling us that they (Middle Georgia Ortho) was no longer accepting her insurance for the gel injections and we would need to pay out of pocket if she still wanted to complete the series. When we got to the office, I complained about the change in procedure and was told that whoever called us was incorrect. It was not Middle Georgia Ortho that was not accepting Blue Cross/Blue Shield's payments for the gel, it was that Blue Cross/Blue Shield that was no longer paying. Considering that we were already there and were concerned about disrupting her treatment, we paid the $500 out of pocket. We called Blue Cross when we got home and were told that it was not true; Blue Cross was still paying and would NOT have changed the policy in the middle of treatment! The Blue Cross rep put us on hold and contacted Middle Georgia Ortho. After twenty minutes and the Blue Cross Rep being shuffled to 3 different people, told us that basically since we signed a paper saying we were self-pay, they (Middle Georgia Ortho was not required to file insurance and would not file! After the Blue Cross Rep went to up channel our complaint, she found out that Middle Georgia Ortho was under investigation by them. She sent us a claim form to try to reimburse us. Having written this review, I do want to say that our PA who administered her get injections was very professional and couldn't have been kinder. Just watch out for the insurance/payment issues at this office.

I can't say enough good things about Middle Georgia Orthopedics! From the moment I called to…read moreschedule my appointment, I was met with professionalism and kindness. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient, and the nurses were attentive and compassionate throughout my visit. I came in with a very painful tennis elbow injury, and Dr. William B. Wiley was nothing short of extraordinary. He took the time to truly listen to my concerns, explored non-surgical treatment options, and made me feel heard and cared for--something I never experienced at Ortho Georgia. His approach is thoughtful, patient-centered, and deeply compassionate. My husband also had knee surgery with Dr. Wiley, and the care he received was top notch. Dr. Wiley even prayed over him before surgery and personally called to check in afterward. That level of care and humanity is incredibly rare these days, and it meant the world to us. Switching to Middle Georgia Orthopedics was the best decision we've made for our health. Thank you to the entire team for setting the gold standard in orthopedic care!

Cantrell Center for Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine

I have used Cantrell Center for physical therapy on two occasions. Both times were extremely…read morepositive. The first was for frozen shoulder (the other shoulder froze shortly thereafter). Thanks to the excellent care I received, I can now extend both arms straight upward. The second (most recent) time I used them, was after I had been to another PT center (Cantrell did not have an opening for the care I needed). (Note: the other PT center did a good job and would get 4-4.25 stars) but I still had a burning pain in my right hip area. Thankfully, Ms. Tassie Cantrell was able to squeeze me in to their very busy schedule. After only about 8-10 visits (and my faithfully doing the prescribed exercises at home) the pain had 95% left. When the pain returns every few months, I simply do the exercises for one or two days and it goes away again. The care and attention Tassie (Cantrell) and Braxton (Hurt) gave me was amazing. I want to be clear; they did not just give me the standard exercises I had been doing for the hip pain. They took the time and had the skill to identify both the root cause of the pain and more importantly to the success, a key secondary contributor. Tassie and Braxton then identified some nonstandard exercises that addressed both issues. Bottom line, Tassie Cantrell, Braxton Hurt and Cantrell Center Physical Therapy all get my sincere thanks and my highest recommendation. Cantrell Center would absolutely be my first choice for physical therapy. Even more so if the issue is difficult to address.

We arrived 30 min prior to appointment in which I'm glad we did quite a bit of paperwork. Hint hint arrive b/t 20 to 30 min of appointment. The lobby area is spacious. Seating arranged due to social distancing. Front desk associates greeted us with a smile and asked if we remembered to bring the work order. Thank goodness I remembered They will not accept any patients without it. We waited 15 min in the lobby before called back. This appointment was more so of a consultation. We discussed the issues he's having and possible treatments going forward. Tess is awesome! She thoroughly examined him. Very patient and attentive. She recommended 6wks of PT along with pool exercises. We are looking forward to working with her.
