    Ormond Beach

Ormond Beach is full of life! There are so many things to do here. With just a short trip to Daytona and the Speedway, too amazing food at Stonewood Grill and Tavern to Aunt Catfishes. The Boardwalk has so much to see also! Thank you to Monster Reservations Group for putting together a great trip!

Ormond Beach is just north of the popular Daytona Beach. It is far less crowded and has a small town feel to it. The sand is compact and light in color. The beach is clean and they have lifeguards. You will not find many shells or beachside vendors. During all of my visits I have never experienced loud music or large parties. It has a very relaxed feel to it and is family friendly.

Drove up from Orlando to spend the day @ the beach with the family . Sadly it's supposed to rain this afternoon so we are going to hit a few shops and grab some lunch @ one of the places here. I'm actually a little shocked how many people are here today with it being as windy as it is.

A photograph captures a coastal scene with a sandy beach, ocean waves, and a cloudy sky. The view is from an elevated position, showing the shoreline, the water, and the horizon. The sky is overcast with dark clouds, indicating possible rain or stormy weather. The beach appears mostly empty with minimal human activity visible.

Beautiful beach ! After driving from key west to Marco island to Miami to palm beach , Ormond beach struck me with its unspoiled beauty! No high rise monsters there to destroy the sunbathing with its shadows . Red white fine sand with air bubbles like mini geysers. Clean firm sand and clean water . That and charm of key largo like small beach houses . A new favorite , even watching the cars get stuck in the sand was quite entertaining

A delightful time at Ormond Beach

We don't often frequent the beaches...just not one of our 'things'. Now that the CORVID-19 restrictions are easing up a bit we went for a ride to Ormond Beach. The white powdery sand under our feet, the blue Florida sky above and the sound of the waves were delightful. The people on the beach were compliant with social distancing which was reassuring.

All the beauty of Daytona Beach with none of its tourists. Ormond Beach is a lovely strip of beach that doubles as a nice park. With a little parking lot, it makes going to beach very convenient and fun. There are pavilions for rent with a good amount of tables, seats, a grill, and trash cans. A walkway provides instant access to the beach, and a terrace overlooking the beach is there for those who want to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean without the mess. Showers are available for that after-swim rinse. There's even a small playground for the kids! My family rented one of the pavilions and it was one of the best beach days we'd had in a long time. I would definitely come back again. TIP: The bathrooms were in great condition the whole day!

It's a quieter beach than Daytona and for that reason I had a great time by myself just listening to the waves and watching the birds peck away. I'm sure it gets busy on the weekend. If you go during off peaks hours, you should be able to w joy it. There's a shower after you get off the beach and a few large trash cans.

Love Ormond Beach is quiet and the sunsets are amazing. Everything is close by and there's tons to do just a cross the street.

Decent beach white sands but literally nothing to do besides the beach. The boardwalk is sparse and depressing.

We take advantage of this a few times a month, our dog absolutely loves the water and sand and it's never crowded. Note that they do require you to keep your pet on a leash but we always bring our long-line leash so he can roam around. As far as the main "boardwalk" area of Flagler, there's plenty to see and do. We like to sit near the pier and watch the surfers catch waves. There's definitely a friendly, old-school hippy-surfer vibe in Flagler that I love. A few fun beach bars that have outside seating with views of the ocean that make for a great lunch spot. One of my favorite things about Flagler is the drive to get there, take the A1A for a scenic ride up (or down) the coast, it's a real crowd-pleaser for out-of-town guests, they'll love the views! Overall, don't miss checking out this little gem of a city, you won't be disappointed.

The…read moresand is this cool orangish color because it's a mix of actual sand and crushed sea shells, and it almost gives you this other-worldly feel.. It's also really spongey so it's a good workout just to walk a ways. I felt much more at peace here than some other beaches- it's not as touristy so it's much more chill than some of the more mainstream FL beaches and it's a great change up. There are huge waves- perfect for surfing or boogey boarding. But that being said, the waves hit the shore pretty hard even up close so just something to be aware of if you're bringing kids. They have a big pier to fish off of and bathrooms and rinse station. Right across the street (A1A) all along the road there are dozens of restaurants, shops, and other businesses all within walking distance of the beach, it's so cool and nice to have everything so close by! Flagler is also a half hour from St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, so it's a great place to stay for a few days that's quieter but you can still see more of the coast. I think this is one of the coolest beachtowns I've been to yet. You gotta come here at least once just to experience how different it is!

For about a half mile north of this newer beachfront city park, Volusia County has designated a…read moredog-friendly zone for an 18-month pilot program as of Nov. 1st, 2023. Specifically, leashed dogs are welcome on 0.6 miles of driveable coast from Rockefeller Dr. to Millsap Rd. However, when we arrived in Ormond Beach around noon on the first Sunday of December, high tide had recently peaked and was still receding so driving onto the sand wasn't possible. Instead, we parked for free in the Andy Romano Beachfront Park lot, adjacent to the Millsap Rd. car ramp, and walked down to the sand. The park itself, including its beach, does not allow dogs, but we had no issue parking in the lot for free with our dog and entering the beach on foot via the car ramp. Even with the driving lanes through the sand, the beach here is rather narrow... but that means a minimal walk to the surf. Plus, the sand here is so very soft! And clean! Of course, the Atlantic Ocean is colder than the Gulf of Mexico, but the waves are much more impressive than on my side of Florida. Because this lot is right next to the car ramp, I would park here again in the future & walk to the sand. On our visit, plenty of open sand was available near the closed vehicle ramp so we had a very short walk from our car. We saved the entrance fee but still had decent access to our car. The parking lot at Andy Romano Beach Front Park is a good size, and was barely half full on our visit. Also, the family-style bathrooms are large, clean, & adequately stocked.

It's literally on the border of Daytona Beach & Ormond Beach. The Parking is limited but free! There is a building with bathrooms & placed to change. Today the beachfront access was closed due to repair work from Beach Erosion but you can walk to end of parking lot and walk down car ramp to Beach. Be careful because cars can enter the beach here for driving and parking. The beachfront park offers public showers, picnic tables under shelter, grills, playground and Splash pad...all for free use! 4 reasons to come to this park. ***NEW INFORMATION***…read more There isn't any fee for everything I'm mentioning EXCEPT the front part of the off beach parking area ****** 1st is MY reason: I go here because it has 2 fenced in HUGH dog play areas. My girls go into the small dog play area while yes, big dogs go in the other one. Each play area has benches, water and poop bags in different areas of the park. (Some people leave balls there also otherwise, you bring your own) I walk the perimeter while the girls run after me and the other dogs. My 2 rescues "mother/daughter" duo are still puppies, full of muscle and need to run for their exercise. (for me to rest because they are a handful) 2nd: There is A children's play area. I know they have swings slides picnic benches but I'm not sure what else because I don't have a child to go there. I hear all of the children laughing, having fun so I'm sure it's pretty nice. 3rd: They also have back to back courts for... I know one is basketball, the other one may be pickleball? Not quite sure but again I see lots of people playing on the courts even if I'm not paying attention to them 4th: Which is most likely you wanted 1st is the large parking area across from the beach As you first drive into the park, there is a huge off beach parking area where You can (of course) park and walk right across to the beach. * BE AWARE, It is no longer "free" parking (just like ALL the parking areas in Volusia county) **The parking areas are free for local residents as long as you register with your car license plate and proof that you are indeed a resident here. ***I don't know what the policy is, you will have to look it up in The Volusia County rules I do know it's $20 a day parking (and all the parking areas now) BUT, I do know it is a great park with something to do for all AS for pictures, I will put them up when I go again BUT, here is a shot of my cute ladies and something strange that someone put up. Stick figures that I don't know their meaning
