Water view just steps from our site.

Such a great park and campground! Super nice, quiet, private sites with water and electric hookups. Steps from the water and tons of cool shade covering all the sites, feels like camping in the jungle. Will be back again.

Sites are surrounded by mature growth giving lots of privacy.

Very nice state park with lovely private RV spots! They're small and close together but separated by lots of mature plants that make you feel like you're in your own oasis! The bathrooms are clean and the park is well maintained. The best part of the park is the little store! Super friendly, amazing boiled peanuts and cold refreshing beer! We were there during Daytona Bike Week by accident but it was super quiet and very enjoyable! It was too cold to rent kayaks but next time we will for sure! Only downfall was the roads are super thick sand in some areas making bike riding a bit sketchy!

A neat place to see in Tomoka Park Tomoka Park is a long thin park running mostly north to south and sandwiched between the Tomoka and Halifax rivers just north of Ormond Beach. The entrance to the park is in the center of the long strip of land on the east side of Beach Street. There is a $5 fee to enter the park. You pay at the ranger station as you enter. If you follow the road to the north end of the park you will arrive at a needle-shaped parking lot that offers plenty of space to park. The 3+ story sculpture is right in front of the parking lot surrounded by a sunken stone amphitheater. It is a very impressive feat for having been constructed and dedicated in March of 1957. A short walk past the statue brings you to the river. I think that this trail gives you a true feel for what original Florida was: sandy paths, covered paths with Spanish moss everywhere. You can follow the quaint path around back to the parking lot or south to follow it along the river. There are large informational signs at the entrance to the parking lot, in front of the statue and by the water. They tell the story of the park, the inhabitants and how they lived. Overall, this is a nice stop to see a place that native Floridians, the Timuacans

We originally had booked the wrong night and had no idea. Showed up ready to camp, and the ranger was SO KIND to us, and helped us out big time by getting us a night in the campground. Bath house was super clean, area was so nice. Our site was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here and we will be back again!

My Mom and I visited this park in December to take advantage of the beautiful winter weather Florida was having. We did not go to hike, or stay overnight, we just went for a couple of hours to wander around. My Mom knew there was a interesting statue in the park, and when we asked the Park Ranger about it upon entry, he told us it was at the very other end of the park. And he mentioned that we should wander out behind the statue, because the views of the peninsula were beautiful. The dirt roads through the park were very rough, so we had to go slowly, but it was worth the drive. The Chief Tomokie statue was really cool and unique. And the views behind the statue were spectacular. It was so calm and peaceful with not another soul in sight. On the way out we stopped by their little camp store to browse, and chatted with a fisherman catching catfish off of the dock. I would definitely come back to try the trails.

This was our first adventure out to Tomoka State Park and it will definitely not be our last. So much to do! I cannot not express how much fun we had. First off, the park is well-maintained and all natural. The roads through the entire park are natural sand (does get muddy in rain). The sites all seem to have a private feel to them as they are surrounded by heavy brush and trees. Makes you feel as if you are all alone. The sites have water and electrical hook ups. You will need bug spray if you attract mosquitoes but it's not crazy swarms. There are restrooms and other facilities for your comfort, if you need them. Second, this place is awesome for recreation entertainment. Bring your bikes! It's a wonderful place to ride around with the family. Fishing! Oh the fishing whether from land or boat. Tons of bait fish that are accessible to cast and get. (If not able to the outpost has frozen shrimp, squid, minnows, and crabs). On the first cast, I reeled in a nice one. Also at the outpost, there is a boat ramp and you can rent fishing gear, kayaks, and canoes. Third, the hiking is quite nice along the water. This is a fantastic place to bring your furry friends. Lots of places to enjoy them with you. The shade all over the part is nice for everyone. Overall, the stay was outstanding. We are already planning our next trip out.

Don't judge, this was my first time to a state park in FLorida! It was beautiful...hot...but beautiful. It sits along the Tomoka river and there is plenty of tree coverage. I was surprised by how well the park is kept. Easy to drive around and the roads are well maintained. Also, the accessibility is nice for people that need it. It's a great place for a day trip to nature or camping. I highly highly suggest bug spray. There are a lot of Mosquitoes and other flying biting bugs Especially at dusk. Pack a cooler of food and snacks! There is a little outpost store That has camping supplies and limited food options as well as a small menu of microwaveable type food. It is very expensive. $10.99 for some Folgers?!?!

My boyfriend and I went fishing here today because it was recommended to us as a good spot. This was our first time at the park and we had a great time! The drive to the park is gorgeous. It takes you down a two Lane road lined with oak trees and palms. The park has a $5 entrance fee and is open from 8 a.m. to sunset. We did not explore the entire park, but I saw that there are camping spots available, public restrooms, and showers. There were a number of areas that you could walk up to the shore and fish from as well as a small dock that we used for fishing. We caught a mangrove snapper and several decent sized catfish. We also saw two guys across the river catch an almost 3 foot tarpon in a cast net! It's definitely not something you see every day! We really enjoyed our day here and would definitely recommend it!

My family of about 20 went camping here last weekend. We had so much fun! We did have to book the 6 campsites 11 months ahead of time because they do fill up quick. The sites were perfect and well maintained. Everyone commented on how clean and nice the bathhouse was. Like most campsites we were able to move the fir me ring, which was great because we were able to make one site just for fire and food. With 20 of us we needed it more in the middle so we could all fit around. Tomoka state park is a great park because there are hiking trails and the outpost. We spent one day fishing and hanging out at the outpost. We were also able to go see the statue and explore the area as a family and had some wonderful laughs. I was very happy that after some rain Sunday morning the campsite was not completely drenched and muddy. I thought it was going to be soaking wet, but it really was not. Overall Tomoka state park is a great place to camp.

2nd time here. Love this park. Minutes from the beach, very well kept unfortunately this time of yr. It's a battle between noseeums, gnats, and mosquitoes.

Stayed here Dec 2015 and also a couple of other times later. Love this park, the only downside is that it is very dusty. The roads are a silt kind of dirt, and when it is dry out, it just becomes this layer of silt on everything, black dust. That was a downer because I am a tent camper and it was very messy. Other than that I really like this campground. It is convenient to town, so it was easy to run into Starbucks to get some breakfast and I didn't really feel like making my own coffee, that was nice. One time I stayed over in the campground it was to avoid the cost of a hotel on the beach, and so the close proximity to the Ormond Beach hotel where my convention was being held was a terrific bargain. I just threw up my tent, stayed overnight, then took it down in the morning and went to my convention. It was that close. I saved well over $120 by staying at the state park. Anyway, had a great time when I went camping and enjoyed it despite the dust. They have some pretty interesting sites close by as well to visit. I've forgotten the name of one of them, but they had some really cool trees there and it was a nice nature path. Wish I could remember the name of the place, it was near by.

Nice clean camping park but some showers dont work or the handles are broken. Other than that the park is better than average.

Specifically, leashed dogs are welcome on 0.6 miles of driveable coast from Rockefeller Dr. to Millsap Rd. However, when we arrived in Ormond Beach around noon on the first Sunday of December, high tide had recently peaked and was still receding so driving onto the sand wasn't possible. Instead, we parked for free in the Andy Romano Beachfront Park lot, adjacent to the Millsap Rd. car ramp, and walked down to the sand. The park itself, including its beach, does not allow dogs, but we had no issue parking in the lot for free with our dog and entering the beach on foot via the car ramp. Even with the driving lanes through the sand, the beach here is rather narrow... but that means a minimal walk to the surf. Plus, the sand here is so very soft! And clean! Of course, the Atlantic Ocean is colder than the Gulf of Mexico, but the waves are much more impressive than on my side of Florida. Because this lot is right next to the car ramp, I would park here again in the future & walk to the sand. On our visit, plenty of open sand was available near the closed vehicle ramp so we had a very short walk from our car. We saved the entrance fee but still had decent access to our car. The parking lot at Andy Romano Beach Front Park is a good size, and was barely half full on our visit. Also, the family-style bathrooms are large, clean, & adequately stocked.

4 reasons to come to this park. ***NEW INFORMATION***…read more There isn't any fee for everything I'm mentioning EXCEPT the front part of the off beach parking area ****** 1st is MY reason: I go here because it has 2 fenced in HUGH dog play areas. My girls go into the small dog play area while yes, big dogs go in the other one. Each play area has benches, water and poop bags in different areas of the park. (Some people leave balls there also otherwise, you bring your own) I walk the perimeter while the girls run after me and the other dogs. My 2 rescues "mother/daughter" duo are still puppies, full of muscle and need to run for their exercise. (for me to rest because they are a handful) 2nd: There is A children's play area. I know they have swings slides picnic benches but I'm not sure what else because I don't have a child to go there. I hear all of the children laughing, having fun so I'm sure it's pretty nice. 3rd: They also have back to back courts for... I know one is basketball, the other one may be pickleball? Not quite sure but again I see lots of people playing on the courts even if I'm not paying attention to them 4th: Which is most likely you wanted 1st is the large parking area across from the beach As you first drive into the park, there is a huge off beach parking area where You can (of course) park and walk right across to the beach. * BE AWARE, It is no longer "free" parking (just like ALL the parking areas in Volusia county) **The parking areas are free for local residents as long as you register with your car license plate and proof that you are indeed a resident here. ***I don't know what the policy is, you will have to look it up in The Volusia County rules I do know it's $20 a day parking (and all the parking areas now) BUT, I do know it is a great park with something to do for all AS for pictures, I will put them up when I go again BUT, here is a shot of my cute ladies and something strange that someone put up.
