Andy Romano Beachfront Park

For about a half mile north of this newer beachfront city park, Volusia County has designated a…read moredog-friendly zone for an 18-month pilot program as of Nov. 1st, 2023. Specifically, leashed dogs are welcome on 0.6 miles of driveable coast from Rockefeller Dr. to Millsap Rd. However, when we arrived in Ormond Beach around noon on the first Sunday of December, high tide had recently peaked and was still receding so driving onto the sand wasn't possible. Instead, we parked for free in the Andy Romano Beachfront Park lot, adjacent to the Millsap Rd. car ramp, and walked down to the sand. The park itself, including its beach, does not allow dogs, but we had no issue parking in the lot for free with our dog and entering the beach on foot via the car ramp. Even with the driving lanes through the sand, the beach here is rather narrow... but that means a minimal walk to the surf. Plus, the sand here is so very soft! And clean! Of course, the Atlantic Ocean is colder than the Gulf of Mexico, but the waves are much more impressive than on my side of Florida. Because this lot is right next to the car ramp, I would park here again in the future & walk to the sand. On our visit, plenty of open sand was available near the closed vehicle ramp so we had a very short walk from our car. We saved the entrance fee but still had decent access to our car. The parking lot at Andy Romano Beach Front Park is a good size, and was barely half full on our visit. Also, the family-style bathrooms are large, clean, & adequately stocked.

The Parking is limited but free! There is a building with bathrooms & placed to change. Today the beachfront access was closed due to repair work from Beach Erosion but you can walk to end of parking lot and walk down car ramp to Beach. Be careful because cars can enter the beach here for driving and parking. The beachfront park offers public showers, picnic tables under shelter, grills, playground and Splash pad...all for free use! First come first served on the grills and picnic tables. We went down to beachfront for about an hour to play and then hit showers and Splash Pad before heading to pick up Kayla's daddy in Sorrento, FL

4 reasons to come to this park. ***NEW INFORMATION***…read more There isn't any fee for everything I'm mentioning EXCEPT the front part of the off beach parking area ****** 1st is MY reason: I go here because it has 2 fenced in HUGH dog play areas. My girls go into the small dog play area while yes, big dogs go in the other one. Each play area has benches, water and poop bags in different areas of the park. (Some people leave balls there also otherwise, you bring your own) I walk the perimeter while the girls run after me and the other dogs. My 2 rescues "mother/daughter" duo are still puppies, full of muscle and need to run for their exercise. (for me to rest because they are a handful) 2nd: There is A children's play area. I know they have swings slides picnic benches but I'm not sure what else because I don't have a child to go there. I hear all of the children laughing, having fun so I'm sure it's pretty nice. 3rd: They also have back to back courts for... I know one is basketball, the other one may be pickleball? Not quite sure but again I see lots of people playing on the courts even if I'm not paying attention to them 4th: Which is most likely you wanted 1st is the large parking area across from the beach As you first drive into the park, there is a huge off beach parking area where You can (of course) park and walk right across to the beach. * BE AWARE, It is no longer "free" parking (just like ALL the parking areas in Volusia county) **The parking areas are free for local residents as long as you register with your car license plate and proof that you are indeed a resident here. ***I don't know what the policy is, you will have to look it up in The Volusia County rules I do know it's $20 a day parking (and all the parking areas now) BUT, I do know it is a great park with something to do for all AS for pictures, I will put them up when I go again BUT, here is a shot of my cute ladies and something strange that someone put up. Stick figures that I don't know their meaning

This exhibit started November 2024 through April 2025 We missed 3 more sculptures because we were so tired after running around and running in and out of The car. We will continue to show you the last 3 asap. This is A must for locals and tourists also. In the brochure is a map where you can find them. We live in Ormond by the Sea so we started at the corner of A1A and and East Granada boulevard and worked our way down to the bridge. I can continue more when I update this review. I picked up my brochure and map at the post office. You would have to look on the map or scan the ??? I forgot what it's called) below scanner?) Anyway, I don't know where other brochures are so you can Google it. I will update this post as soon as I do the last 3 statues. Oh the window washer at the Granada? Shopping center, When we took pictures of the window washer) I couldn't find the photo of the window washer. A book that reads the movie rear window with James and Grace. Kelly. ( Love that movie you have to watch it) Furthermore, if any of these sponsors read my reviews, in my review(s) there are too many to list) Thank you for this amazing exhibit for The locals and tourists. I was in heaven taking pictures. With plenty of benches to sit and admire the view. Some of those benches have funny sayings. Towards the back of the park, there is a walking long bridge. A good place to walk. It has a nice view of the water. In the middle of the park, there is a Historic building that now is a church. It's a cute, old fashion looking house. It has a plaque that tells the history of the place. It was the first place for a Christian marriage in north America once upon a time. . This little park has its own parking lot. Is not too big. I liked my time here. I was glad I stopped. I got great pictures.
