We love coming here. Park by the arcade for $1/hr, occasionally gaze at the passersby walking on the beautiful pier, while listening to waves crashing in the distance while the ocean breeze keeps us comfy. Thanks for all the memories, Daytona. Doing this visit as one last hoorah before the girls go back to school.

    Breathtaking View!

We had a great time on our Vacation to Daytona Beach! The beach was clean and our hotel was everything! Great food places nearby and plenty of things to do for adults & children. Thanks to Monsters Vacations and their great customer service. We can't wait to book our next vacation through them.

Tony and I decided to spend 3 days in Daytona Beach and we are very disappointed in the NON Social Distancing, The Trash left on the beach and EVERYWHERE!!! We are disappointed in all the homeless pan handling, the druggies and drunks laying around where families have their kids. We are VERY disappointed in the LACK of POLICE being anywhere!!! We left early!!

For a beach lover, there really is nothing bad to say here. I do love the differences on the east and west coasts of the state... loud crashing of the waves, being able to drive on the beach on the east coast but then we have the powder sand and amazing sunsets. Each morning I made sure I was up and ready for sunrise, which I love just how different each day can be. Even with all craziness going on, it makes you feel blessed to be able to see such beauty.

It's been years since I was last here, but it's still as beautiful as I remember. The beach is still open to the public, life guards are posted every so many yards at their towers, and the beach patrol is out in full force driving down the beach monitoring, and keeping the beach safe. I love being here when the beach is filled with families playing in the water, seashell hunting, or just on the sand building sand castles with their kids. This relaxing, tranquil beach is a must if you want to experience the warmth of the clean, clear aqua-blue water, and the warm white-sand between your toes.

We wanted to go to a beach that was close to us and looked beautiful. We had originally decided on Tampa but it was more out of our way than we thought. Daytona beach was within and hour so we decided to come here not knowing what to expect. I didn't realize that this Daytona beach was the one commected to the Daytona International Speedway! That was really cool passing by to get to our beach location. The beach itself was very beautiful, we sat under the bridge to get some shade, though they do offer rentals of beach chairs and umbrella to keep the sun at bay. The beach itself was amazing in that i could go into the water pretty far before it reached my waist(considering that I am a tiny human that was pretty surprising) It did start to rain a few hours later but the lifeguards made sure to get everyone out of the water for safety. Going towards the boardwalk are places where you can eat and wash/clean of the sand.

I'm posting the events for all those who've messaged me to ask about Daytona Jeep Beach Week. We plan to go all around but will post on my IG where exactly to meet etc. We brought our boards and bike as well so don't forget yours. Camp night hasn't been decided yet, for those who don't know we plan on camping out a few nights too. You can definitely join us. Fun fun fun....

We used to come here a lot for family trips when I was growing up. I have fond memories of various hotel pools and beach days. We did a family get together trip there in June, 2019 and - well, I'm not sure if Daytona has gone significantly downhill or if my idea of a vacation has just changed, but it wasn't my ideal beach vacation spot. The beach itself is OK. Yes, you can still drive on it. I don't understand why you would WANT to... but that's a thing that happens. A lot of the beachside strip area looks really run down. The boardwalk is not worth more than an evening stroll - if you can find a place to park that doesn't cost $15 (not kidding). The thing I disliked the most - look, it gets HOT and humid here and if you're not someone that wants to bake on the beach during the miserable afternoon heat, there is just not that much else to do. There is one museum and of course the Speedway. But really, that is about it. I struggled to find anything at all to do that didn't involve heat stroke. Daytona is probably best for folks that really truly only want beaches and pools. If you're someone like me - that loves active vacations full of cultural/historical/unique things and great restaurants... this is not your beach.

Driving on the beach $20 for 6 miles or all day

We Decided to drive on the beach so it cost $20 to drive 6 miles and you could stay on the beach all day. We were there two or three hours just driving there was a lot of people we stopped several times watch people fish swim and surf. It was a hot but breezy day what a great day to walk on the beach

Such a beautiful experience. I can't wait to return. I love being by the water, heating the waves, watching the water creep up onto my toes. I had the best time

This is one of my favorite beaches in Florida! Beautiful waves and water. It never seems overcrowded and the water is so refreshing.

Does this Bach have seating for the public ? like benches and lounge chairs ? or even just those chairs that the hotel sets out?

The beach has benches along a boardwalk sidewalk. Then on the actual beach itself they rent out chairs. There are also plenty of stores that sell beach paraphernalia for cheap. We brought a towel from our hotel to sit on and a group of locals… Read more

Specifically, leashed dogs are welcome on 0.6 miles of driveable coast from Rockefeller Dr. to Millsap Rd. However, when we arrived in Ormond Beach around noon on the first Sunday of December, high tide had recently peaked and was still receding so driving onto the sand wasn't possible. Instead, we parked for free in the Andy Romano Beachfront Park lot, adjacent to the Millsap Rd. car ramp, and walked down to the sand. The park itself, including its beach, does not allow dogs, but we had no issue parking in the lot for free with our dog and entering the beach on foot via the car ramp. Even with the driving lanes through the sand, the beach here is rather narrow... but that means a minimal walk to the surf. Plus, the sand here is so very soft! And clean! Of course, the Atlantic Ocean is colder than the Gulf of Mexico, but the waves are much more impressive than on my side of Florida. Because this lot is right next to the car ramp, I would park here again in the future & walk to the sand. On our visit, plenty of open sand was available near the closed vehicle ramp so we had a very short walk from our car. We saved the entrance fee but still had decent access to our car. The parking lot at Andy Romano Beach Front Park is a good size, and was barely half full on our visit. Also, the family-style bathrooms are large, clean, & adequately stocked.

One of the workers in the gift shop gave us an intro when we bought our tickets. You should definitely start across the street at the hotel/museum. That hotel/house has history all its own aside from the lighthouse. The family that lived there and ran it. I loved the house and it seems to have stayed in great condition after hundreds of years. In the hotel/house, you start with a short movie in the side room and then you can tour the house at your leisure. The house has multiple items displayed from over the years. There are also boards with a bit of history as you make your way through. Outside of the hotel/house is a relaxing area by the water. You could relax there or it'd be a perfect place for a wedding or special occasion. Once finished there, you can make your way back across the street to the lighthouse. On the lighthouse side, there are other buildings where people that took care of the place stayed. There's also a small storybook trail. It's not long at all but it has these storyboards around it talking about this cat named Nelly. That's all fun and stuff... but at the end of the trail, you see a little cat graveyard with cats that have been on the property over the years. When we walked up and I noticed Nelly was already buried! THE HORRRRRRRRRRORRRRRRR! On to the lighthouse; You can climb up to the top of the lighthouse. I think there is a sign that mentions 222 steps or something. It gets very steep near the top. Great exercise and it made me forget all about the cat graveyard. It's a cool place. I was intrigued by the Cincinnati Reds connection too. Other notables: Across the street is a restaurant and ice cream place. I don't think those two spots are related to the lighthouse itself but it's nice that they're there. We tried out both and they weren't bad at all. We didn't venture further down the road but we were told more restaurants/locations are further down. If you like history or inlets or just lighthouses, check out this place if you're in the area.

The beach itself was pretty small, and it was crowded. The water wasn't too rough. There were a lot of kids and families, so clearly a good place for the kids to swim. My favorite part were all of the dogs. There were so many puppers on the beach! Overall, I'll give it a 3. It was fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here for a beach day.
