WOW...what a hidden gem this place is!! We recently stopped by this Venezuelan restaurant after a friend had brought us some empanadas from here. Since we were huge fans of the empanadas we decided to try out the actual restaurant for ourselves... and boy... are we sure glad we did. The restaurant is located in the same plaza w/ Pasta Lab on Town Center Blvd... blink once and you might just drive right past it. The shop itself is a smaller quaint shop with a hot foods/ glass display... showing off all of the food selections. Since we had gone super early, none of the foods were ready to be on display yet so we just ordered directly from our table. We ordered a chicken empanada, breakfast plate, and ground beef/cheese arepa to share. The empanada of course never disappoints... the sweet and savory exterior paired with the heartiness of the meat inside was literally to die for. It is probably hands down my favorite empanadas in the Orlando area! The arepa was also a showstopper which I truly was surprised.... because the arepa itself was very pillowy and soft compared to others I had before and the filling was super tasty. Lastly, the breakfast platter filled with beans, eggs, shredded beef, and a side of arepa was definitely a good sized portion and was both filling and satisfying! Overall, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Orlando Snack Cafe. Not only did they have spectacular and fast service... but their food is so delicious and on point. Not sure why it's called "Orlando Snack Cafe" because it's a Venezuelan restaurant. Came today and got chicken and cheese empanadas and they were absolutely amazing, the best I've ever had! And it's come with this green sauce that you can dip your empanada in and it's so delicious! I also ordered a pineapple strawberry juice and it was very good! They also sell hamburgers and sandwiches which I haven't tried yet, but I will! The people that work here are so nice and sweet! The inside has a few tables that you can sit at and eat and two outside tables. I can't wait to come back to try some sandwiches! read more

Hunter's Creek area. Small and clean, a hole in the wall spot with maybe 10 tables. I had an arepa with ground beef and cheese and it was 100% delicious. It also came out super hot - in fact I had to wait to eat it. That's what I'm talking about! I've driven by this place for soooo many times over the years and never stopped in because the signage is extremely misleading. You'd never think it was a Venezuelan food spot unless you went in or took the time to look it up online. Apart from that though, I'm extremely glad I came in here. I arrived around noon and they were switching over the steam table from breakfast to lunch foods. The server who helped us out was amazing and extremely patient. I ordered the lunch plate with shredded beef, white rice, black beans, and plantains. I love how much food they give you for your money, though I personally love plantains and wish I got a couple pieces more. Apart from that the food was delicious, though the beef was a little bit too salty for me. The other person with me got two of the shredded meat empanadas as well as a fruit shake (with milk). He really liked the empanadas, though he did say he thought the cheese in it would have been a little different than it was. The shake he got was decent (passion fruit, strawberries, and pineapple with milk) though a bit too tart, probably just due to the fact that they use fresh fruits so there's bound to be a variation there. Thanks to the Yelp community for pointing out this place. What a cute retreat in Hunter's Creek. It's cozy, clean, and nice. It's like a little time out spot in the middle of it all. I came for cafe con leche, and ended up getting an arepa with scrambled eggs, tomato, and onions. I enjoyed my breakfast, and loved soaking in the Latin culture that lives here. The staff is friendly and wanted to know how I found out about the place. It seems they really want you to enjoy the food and your experience. If one wants a tasty and relatively quick meal without having to go to a fast-food joint, Orlando Snack Cafe is the place! The cafe offers Venezuelan cuisine and other general Hispanic foods that are sure to put a grin on your face. Well, if you're not grumpy, it will definitively make you smile at the very least... While it has daily lunch specials made specifically for the afternoon, I prefer ordering out of the menu. Don't get me wrong, the lunch specials are divine. I particularly love to get the shredded beef and the salad -with an apparent cheese dressing- when its offered. It's convenient if one is in a hurry because lunch specials are the quickest to be served. The cachapa is probably my favorite food item here. The 'queso de mano' and 'nata' close the deal with this dish. It's just savory and sweet, which are the things dreams are made of, at least mine are... Their coffee is also very good, and I can't get enough of it. On top of this liquid sunshine, they have a moist and heavenly sort of chocolate cake (Souffle?) that I can't seem to get my hands off; its called marquesa. My direct recommendations for breakfast is an empanada and cappuccino. The fried empanada is the most flavorful, but the baked empanada is healthier while still packing good flavor. Just choose the filing, chicken or beef. If you want more of a small brunch, I insist you go for the cachapa. If a more fulfilling brunch is desired, go with the Venezuelan breakfast. This bad boy comes with shredded beef, beans, sunny-up egg, and an arepa. Whatever your choice, you will be in for a good morning or early afternoon. :) read more

This is a charming little place. Really clean and very friendly service. English is used sparingly but it's a team effort that was enjoyable. We had the typical Venezuelan breakfast which was very fresh and really tasty and my son had the bacon omelet (which was huge and turned out to be Canadian bacon). The cafe con leche was...adequate, nice. My only hesitation in giving 5 stars is that it's a little pricy for the amount and quality. Food was tasty and arepas were super fresh but it wasn't outstanding. You are paying a little bit for the location (heart of Hunter's Creek)...but the whole experience was great and I didn't mind so much! read more

Ended up coming here because nothing else opens until 11 am, and I'll say, this place was incredible. I know a lot of people are hesitant to eat foreign food, but the empanadas here are the best I've ever had. The service was also great, being a Venezuelan restaurant, Venezuelans are all very kind and humble. The food came out very fast and everything was accurate, I ordered an americano and you could tell the beans were fresh. I always wondered how a cafe could survive in such a small storefront on town center blvd in Hunters Creek. I now know the answer. Great authentic food. The name is vague but the food is memorable. Serving up authentic Venezuelan food each day. They offer a lot of lunch specials daily, but I decided to stick to menu items for my first visit. I got an empanada and the typical Venezuelan lunch plate (Pabellón). I ordered it to go but I did notice the inside of this place is not what it seems on the outside. Very clean, small chairs line one wall, while the food counter lines the other. The place was busy, but not crowded and seemed to be a favorite local spot. My empanada was delicious, it was made of corn not flour and when I bit into it was this crunchiness followed by the wonderful softness of the filling. The are rather large, a good 5 or so inches. The Pabellón lunch plate is shredded beef which was flavorful and juicy it paired well with the perfectly cooked rice and the black beans seemed to be home made and not from a can, absolutely delicious. The plantains were large and they gave me four, which was more than I was expecting. Who knew I was missing out on all this flavor. I will be back again to try some of the lunch plates of the day. read more

I am not sure if I need to write this review in Spanish or in English, as I would think most of their clientele is from Latin America - especially from Venezuela. I tried their empanadas (made of corn meal not, wheat flour) - one word: delicious!!! Cheese was great but go out there and try "pabellón" (black bean, shredded beef, white cheese and fried plantain) - I'm sure you'll love it! Also, the coffee is great. And they have some Venezuelan soft drinks "colita" - not made in Venezuela but I couldn't tell. I also had "tequeños" (think mozzarella sticks a hundred times better) - however, this was not as good as others I've tried. They also have full lunches (more like dinner), smoothies ("batidos") and good looking homemade desserts. I saw the reviews and I really wanted to try this place. I went with my husband and we order a beef arepa a side of ripe plantains and a coffee. The arepa was very flavorful and was served really hot and with lots of cheese. Coffe was excellent too. I give it 4 stars, because we were the only clients and we waited for more than half an hour. 5 stars for the food (when available)... 1 star for customer service. Although the warm Venezuelan hospitality is well known, the staff at Orlando Snack Cafe do not seem to follow that tradition. Even when the place is empty, it takes a while for someone to come ask if they can help. Somehow it feels like you are interrupting something they were doing to bother them with your little insignificant order. Most of the time food options are very limited, mostly to frozen empanadas. After gaining all this weight in Chicago last week I had to go for one more place this morning back home in Florida. Hunters Creek area is home to this great cafe. Glad to find it open on Sundays. 8:00am to 1:00pm. Rest of the week it's 8:00am to 8:00pm. Christian was the gentleman helping us out today. Great guy with a great attitude. Had no idea it was Venezuelan food. Actually, didn't know what to expect when we came. We were pleasantly surprised. Only a few people here this morning at 9:00am.
