After googling options, reading forums and asking for recommendations from friends and family, I decided to go with this clinic to do my Lasik. Booking an appointment was a breeze. The receptionist whom picked up was pleasant, patient and answered all of my questions. She gave me their prices and here they are: 1) Surgeon preference: Initial consultation: $1250+ (+400 wavefront fee - if needed) Surgery: $29,000 2) No surgeon preference: Initial consultation: $880 (+400 wavefront) Surgery: $22,000 Dr Chang is the head surgeon of the clinic and many people may feel more comfortable going with him. If you don't have a preference, their computer will assign one to you. When you are assigned a surgeon, there is no flexibility in changing appointment dates. For example, my surgeon was Dr. Chan Wai Man and his surgery dates are on Weds with follow-up appointments on Thurs. If you have specific cut off days, do let the receptionist know. The clinic is located on the 21st floor of Pacific Place On, and its gorgeous! Most of the consultation is carried out by the staff and towards the end of the appointment, the doctor is available to answer any questions you may have. Dr Chan was very friendly and gave realistic expectations of the outcome of the surgery. The wait time for surgery was 2 weeks and payment was to be made the day of. -- Day of Surgery: 1) Check-in 2) Eyesight test 3) Make surgery payment (option of 6/12 month installment) 4) Enter surgery ward - nurses walk you through the process, takes blood pressure and heart rate, provides you with post op medication) 5) Meet surgeon for eye markings and any questions you may have 6) Enter surgery room, two part surgery proceeds - takes around 15 minutes 7) After surgery, you are guided out to rest and wait for around 15 minutes for the surgeon to finish his other patients 8) Surgeon conducts eye examination 9) Home! Approx time: 3.5 hrs -- Day 1 - Post op surgery: 1) Eyesight test 2) Surgeon conducts eye examination 3) Nurses explain medication Approx time: 1 hr

I had relocated 3 months after the surgery and had planned to come back 8 months post-surgery they were unwilling to move my post surgery 6 months appointment and had the audacity to ask for an additional $1000 consultation fee. As well 6 months after my surgery my eyeball started to swell, and they could not tell me if this was a potential symtom post LASIK. If I could do it all over again I would opt for another clinic where they actually care, all I received were not questions regarding my swelling eye but were pertaining to the additional fees that I must face for not coming at 6 months. When you sign, they coin the 6 month as an example time for the checkup not reflected as a MUST. I have no idea what difference it would make to them for seeing a patient 6 months vs 8 months.

To be fair, it is a chain store that sells specs. Not much more, not much less. The service I got in the Wan Chai store was very good. The staff were pleasant and friendly, starting with the optician, who was thorough in his examination of my eyes, through to the floor staff who did well not to snigger when I picked frames that made me look like Chinese Elton John. What I did like was the ability to come back repeatedly to adjust my frames. I get that all opticians will do this until they fit right, and then there is the argument that they should just set them up properly in the first place. For my last pair of specs, they just could not seem to set the frames up properly without them dropping off my face, or cutting off circulation to my brain. They did get it right eventually, but after three attempts. The turn around time for appointments and glasses is good. You can pretty much walk in for an appointment, and so long as the optician isn't at lunch, you can be seen. If your requirements are simple, just frames and lenses, you can get a pair in a few hours, or certainly the next day. If you are like me and go for high index transitions etc., expect to wait at least a week, if not two. As with most of HK, the glasses are very reasonable (again, especially if they are standard). A regular set of specs will only set you can a few hundred HKD at most. For me, I spend into the multiple thousands of HKD, but that's because I am so lazy I don't want to have to move to put on sunglasses, let technology shade my eyes for me!

The x-ray robes are surprisingly thick, so you don't feel naked during imaging. Most importantly, staff are courteous & tremendously helpful with questions and paperwork.

Dr Chan is the primary pediatrician of my daughter, taking care of her immunization and occasional…read moreailments. He is caring and able to foster rapport with his patients and importantly their parents. My daughter totally likes him. I have no reservation in recommending him.

I'm a dutchess of a hospital. Whaaaat?? Ok I guess I'll write a review…read more I've been here many times and for different reasons. Good or bad. I'd say it's overall a great hospital. You can tell that they're a very structured organization and everyone working here are well trained. Doctors and nurses are professional and polite. The nurses I have dealt with are so nice I actually wrote them a card to say thank you. The hospital took the past few years to revamp the entire place and I could see them upgrading section by section, and I like this place more and more. I'd like to make a special mention of the food there - the canteen has really good food, with a nice casual setting overlooking the race course. Clay pot rice is really famous but there's a wait for it. Not that I want to come here all the time, but if anyone reading this is concerned about the quality of doc or the place, there's nothing for you to worry about. If you have a good medical insurance, just go for it!
