My husband went in for a root canal last week.. she said she couldn't do it because it was too difficult for her, so, she handed him off to another doctor in her office. They told him to take his antibiotics for another week and handed him an appointment card for this Thursday at 2:30pm.. he doesn't receive a call or anything from them, but he just assumes his appointment is good and just goes.. well, he drives all the way there only to be told his appointment is next Thursday at 1:30pm.. they are complete liars. They most likely aren't skilled enough to do the procedure, so they just keep pushing him off. Not cool. Hello this the link to Yelp I saw Dr. Asfour three days a go for a root canal. She was very professional she explained to me what i needed to do before and after the surgery. And she gave me Antibiotic before the root canal and then she gave me pain medication after she finished. Angie her assistant was very helpful and very enjoyable to talk to. I was terribly disappointed in the service I received here, I have had a lot of dental work done and tend to know what I am talking about. I was talked to like I was a child, I am 30. They didn't help me with my loose crown , which is understandable but she was very very rude about it. She filled my cracked filling which never had any pain before and now is super sensitive to hot and cold liquids and is now extremely painful. I will never go back . read more

A nightmare. I ONLY went here bc of my insurance and needing a Crown. They did NOT smooth out the bottom, left permanent cement on it (told me it would come off with food). The temporary cement didn't hold after 2 HOURS. I had 2 go 2 a different dentist 2 get it put back on. He said i was probably feeling pain BC THE BITE WAS OFF. They did NOT do xrays after putting the permanent in and now I was told by a REAL DENTIST that there is decay forming in between that Crown and the next tooth (4 months after putting it in). This could have been prevented by checking with xrays the fitting. A lovely gap is forming the decay. They are going to try to "fix it." I could be wrong but I don't think u can fix a gap without replacing the permanent tooth/Crown. read more

I had one of the most horrible experiences of my life at Orland Advanced Dentistry. I went to see Dr.Asfour because I had excruciating pain. As soon x-ray was done, she said," you have an abscess, and you may need to get your teeth pulled if root canal doesn't work." I wasn't sure what that meant, so I said," what do you mean by Abscess?" She said," Abscess. abscess. You don't know what that is?" Mockingly. She wanted to start working on my teeth without an informed explanation. I told her that I would speak to my husband then immediately went to see my previous doctor which was 40 minutes away. They explained in detail what it meant and said that I needed a specialist to see where the trauma is to ensure the severity of the trauma (how the teeth are cracked) and what can be done. A few years after, I again got tired of driving back to my previous dentist, so I decided to give it another try. I saw Dr.Asfour again and informed her that my teeth seemed sensitive and they're hurting me. She said I needed a night guard (As well as had other cavities) but I told her that I had a gap in my teeth that I wanted to fix, but she insisted that that would solve the problem. So, I said I'll do it even if I was unsure. She ordered it then I went back for a follow-up to fix my cavities and try on the night guard on my next appointment. I saw Dr.Latif then; he was very pleasant and not as rough as Dr.Asfour. He explained things in the detail which was great. I tried on the night guard during that visit, and I choked so he said that I do not need the night guard now and recommended to visit an orthodontist to fix my gap. He said that I didn't need the guard and that he would use the balance of the night guard to fix my cavities. I said that was fine. He worked on my cavities and said that I needed to come back for the remaining. I was afraid of being pregnant, so I waited then went overseas and decided to fix the remaining cavity/cavities there. I went to two different doctors, and both have done x-rays and said that I do not have any cavities. I was furious because I was so worried about fixing my before getting pregnant and turned out I had no cavities. I decided not to call them to ask for the remaining balance because I didn't want an altercation. Months after, I receive a bill in the mail stating that I owe $100.00. I got so upset because, after all, that had happened, I felt like I was treated so unfairly and yet received a bill when they should be refunding me the money. So, I went to the office and spoke to a young lady there, and she said that there was no one there to help and referred me to someone else. She also made remarks about Dr.Asfour and said that her entire family does not go there anymore. I spoke to another young lady over the phone and was informed that one of the doctors would give me a check in return. I receive a call this morning from a woman named Holly. She asked for my side of the story so I thought it would only be fair to explain how uncomfortable I was with Dr.Asfour. I was beginning to say," In the beginning, Dr.Asfour was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable..." She interrupts me and says," You are not to bash any of our doctors or start with name-calling." I told her it is my right as a patient to tell you how I felt about the doctor and that you're already drawing conclusions, so you're not calling me to really hear my side. She was so aggressive and said that she would be sending me to collections, I was shocked. It escalated, and I told her at the end of the conversation exactly how I felt by Dr. Asfour and hung up. I went to the office to end this as my husband advised that we do not want to have problems over $100.00. I told her, "here's the $100 because I will not be going to collections for $100.00" but still wanted to explain to her the situation hoping she'd understand. She said," None of our doctors will ever disagree with another. These people are my family; I will not allow you to talk about them." I said," I have a right to tell you how I felt as your patient and your treatment of your patients so beyond unfair and this isn't about family. Dr. Latif said that this money is credit." She completely brushed me off and said," Dr. Latif will never do that." I said," Please ask him. He will tell you." She stated he was a medical leave and that she will ask him once he returns but again said that what I'm saying would never happen. She told me that "all online reviews are from people that owe money" after I told her that I heard some bad things from reviews and that they owe me money for the cavities I didn't have and the credit to the night guard. I've asked her if I could shadow her so I could learn about dentistry. She started asking me weird questions about my age, if I have husband and children. Asked me where I live, where I work now, where I worked before, where I was from. Wanted to know if I passed MCAT???? MCAT is for Medical School NOT DENTAL SCHOOL - I wonder how she graduated from Dental school in U.S. ? All aspiring dental students pass DAT not MCAT. But the main issue for her was that my english - according to her - was very poor. So poor that I wouldn't be able to answer her phones. I graduated with BS degree few years ago, hold few professional jobs since then. I do have an accent but can communicate clearly. She could not stop to repeat herself how bad I speak English and that I won't be able to answer her phone. I am very disappointed and sad for someone to humiliate me like that. Very closed-minded, rude. Would not recommend her. Had some food between her tooth. NOT A PROFESSIONAL WOMEN. How she treated me says so much about her, her manner and practice. I went for a checkup and cleaning at Orland Advanced Dentistry shortly after it opened. I had recently moved to Orland so I wanted to find a dentist that was closer to my house. Dr. Sawsan Asfour was pleasant and her office was clean and new. She told me I needed 3 fillings and 2 root canals, which was a big surprise to me because at my checkup 6 months earlier I had no problems. I decided to go back to my old dentist a month later to find out if I really needed all that work done. He did an exam and told me I didn't need anything. Since then I have only needed 1 filling -- yes, 1 small filling in 3+ years and no root canals! Needless to say, I've been driving the distance to see my old dentist ever since, but at least I'm not getting root canals and fillings I don't need. read more

I did a root canal with Dr. Hussien Latif. then he said you need a crown for the same molar that I had a root canal. So I went for another Clinic to make sure if I really need a crown or not. The other clinic said yes you need a crown but wait, one of your root canal is not done correctly as suppose to be done and might cause an infection in the next two years. I asked " what do you mean by its not done as suppose to be". They showed me the x-ray and explained to me the root canal should go the whole way down and mine is shorter than it should be. Dr. Latif Should mention this to me but he didn't !!!. On the other hand what the real thing that shocked me, when the other clinic informed me ALSO, that I have another cavity just behind the same molar that I did my root canal and Dr. Latif didn't see the cavity !!.What The Hack!!.... I woke up and was unable to open my mouth from how much pain was in the right side of my mouth, and I had to walk in as an emergency patient. I saw Dr. Asfour and she took me right away and took x-rays and checked my teeth. She could tell right away that all this pain was the result of my wisdom teeth coming in, and she was very comforting and reassuring throughout the whole visit. My teeth are very sensitive, and she made sure to be as gentle as possible, and went out of her way to make sure I understood all the next steps I could take. We decided the best course of action was to remove my wisdom teeth as they were destined to come out crooked and damage all my surrounding teeth. I could tell that she has had lots of experience in dentistry and that I was in great hands! If I could give zero stars I would. Been going here since I was 13 and now I am 20 experiencing the same problems in the same teeth. Unprofessional service and very rushed work. Had a root canal done and my insurance covers a crown and she refused to put it on unless I paid out of pocket. My root canal wasn't even done correctly according to other dentists I've spoke to and every filling she's given me always cracks and falls out within a week. DO NOT TRUST HER WITH YOUR TEETH!!!! Asfur , is really a bad dentist , she did a root canal for me less than a year ago and it got infected , and she said at that time ur insurance doesn't pay for a crown , but it DID , now I went to another dentist and paid 950$ out of pocket to do revision root canal because of her , whenever you go to her clinic , she says you have 5+ fillings that you need to do , and she does 3 surface fillings for each one , so she can take more from the insurance company (I went to another dentist and they showed me the X-ray ) , beside all that , she's rude , very judgmental , not friendly , I'm really sad that I paid too much money for one tooth because of her treatment , I wanted to get back to her and tell her what she did , but I didn't want to make a scene , she doesn't deserve to open a clinic read more

Then told me i had 5 cavaties yet never used a tool to actually check the cavities seems wrong to me. Absolutely awful. She has done damage to my teeth that cannot be undone just to get paid. I've gotten a root canal done by her and had to pay over 600 dollars and it STILL didn't work out. After paying for the root canal, she "advised" me to remove the tooth completely. On top of that, that tooth broke and my new dentist wanted to crown it, but couldn't because she shaved the tooth so much. She is very insensitive towards her patients and tells them to "stop being a baby" if they're in pain. I don't recommend anyone to go to her office. read more

I was told by Dr Sawsan that I had 8 cavities. I did not feel comfortable with her so I went to another dentist that said I only had 3 cavities and he had no idea what Dr Sawsan was talking about. Dr. Asfour has never done work on me but I have been going to Dr. Latif for two years now. My teeth were in horrible shape when I started seeing him. Prior to going to him I had neglected my teeth purely out of fear after going to a dentist & had a horrible experience which was a root canal gone wrong and resulted in the tooth needing to be pulled! The first time I saw Dr. Latif he showed me the x-rays and showed me everything that was wrong & explained it thoroughly. We came up with a plan and he was very considerate about my finances as well! Since seeing him he has completed three root canals & a couple of cavities. I've never had a problem with any of those teeth since! He talks you through the whole procedure and makes you feel absolutely comfortable. Patient care is number one. The women at the front desk couldn't be nicer and accommodating. His assistants are just as great as he is with making sure you are comfortable at all times. Very personable. I refer all family and friends to him! They have nothing but great things to say as well! read more
