Hotel Ca' Formenta is a cute two-story pink facade with 14 guest rooms concealing equally unassuming yet clean and pleasant interiors. Upon entering their tiny lobby adorned in traditional Venetian style with gleaming tile floors, columns, and elegant blue upholstered seating, we were greeted by Elena and made to feel welcome. The room was small and spotlessly clean with Venetian charm to it. We were glad to have great water pressure in the shower and a nice working air conditioner. A complimentary buffet-style breakfast is served daily with a good selection. The staff is always available and wanting to help. Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, it's a scenic spot, and the nearest vaporetto (water bus) stop is just a three-minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco, which is only a 10-minute walk away. There were plenty of dining options and bars in the area, as well as shops. This was chosen by our travel agency, and we cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone reading this review.

It is a 5-10 minute walk from everything. We rented a two bedroom suite. In addition to these bedrooms, the sofa in the living room converted into a pullout bed. The unit also has two separate bathrooms and a little utility kitchen. Most importantly everything was clean and new. The appliances were modern, including the espresso machine which we used each morning (pods included). So, the place was modern and clean and had a good location. But it was also quaint. To enter the hotel, you walk through a private gate over a small bridge, through a heavy wooden door into a private courtyard. It feels like Venice used to be in terms of the stone and woodwork. You can also arrive to the front door of the hotel via Canal on a water taxi. The staff was super friendly. They brought croissants each morning, they helped with restaurant reservations (even walking with us to show us how to to) and they even took care of our laundry. The only consideration I offer is whether you prefer a large format hotel. My parents stayed at the Danieli and we liked IQ's better.

The hotel isn't directly on the canal so you won't have all the hustle & bustle of tourists and shops but its within 2 mins walking distance of them. The hotel was luxurious. I thought everything was near perfect from the beginning to the end of my stay. The front desk personnel personally walked us to our room and went down again to bring up our luggage. Stepped into the room and found bathrobes/slippers nicely folded and waiting for us. The room was beautiful and had this antique-y feel yet super elegant at the same time. Gold hues. LOTS OF GOLDEN COLORS. Lol. They even have a "butt washer" in their bathroom...very interesting indeed. I believe they have a gym, library etc but who needs all that when you have so much excitement outside the hotel?! BREAKFAST BUFFET: Lurved! I brought a mini Nutella home.. ;) they have fresh fruits, a pancake maker, eggs, sausages, different cold cuts & salamis, salads, Italian pastries/breads...I enjoyed looking at all the different foods they offered. While you eat, you can look out the window at the canal right next to you. Anyway..I LOVED THIS PLACE. Highly recommend! **they offer daily free boat rides to Murano island...we didn't find out til the last day so...

It had a pull out couch in the living room and separate bedroom. The windows opened to a small canal as well. The bathroom screamed luxury. It was a great find at a great price. The front desk is extremely helpful, they go above and beyond to help. I had an issue with a water taxi reservation and they went out of their way to help even tho they got no money out of it. They even had to search online for the correct numbers for me. They were just simply nice enough to make calls for me because they speak italian and all i can say is Grazie lol. Breakfast was included in our room rate and its a very large spread, complete with a make your own pancake machine. We ended every night in the hotel bar. Its a cozy place that is very welcoming. One night we were walking back to the hotel and heard the most beautiful music and singer. When we got closer we noticed it was coming from our hotel bar! Such a wonderful experience. Id definitly stay again.

***Warning-Poor Location and Terrible Customer Service***…read more They have completely irresponsible people running this hotel. They claim to have hotel specific water taxis that run on time. Some of the hotel taxis are marked and some of them are not marked, a complete disgrace. And of course the pilot on the boat doesn't speak English. And then management can't do anything about it, they just look at you and say "okay." I would go so far as to say that maybe the manager really did not understand English either-pretty clear from his one word response, "OK." Please be aware, you're at the complete mercy of these water taxis/hotel shuttle and this hotel has a terrible company that is completely irresponsible when it comes to a time table. Try to find a hotel on the main island of Venice. The shuttle on 10.04.2026 was not clearly marked, as a matter of fact, it was not marked at all; hence, 10 people were left stranded on the dock last night. Again, I would never stay at this hotel again, they are getting top dollar for a really poor location. And regarding the employees at this hotel, I found were as unhelpful as I have ever experienced for a Hilton property.

Very peaceful even in an area as busy as this. Our room was one of the few with a terrace, and I feel like that a terrace was a requirement for us. Sitting on the terrace at sunset and drinking some champagne was just absolutely amazing. Highly recommend Londra Palace.

The house is gorgeous and located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood just a short bus ride from Venice (about 20 minutes). The room is eat-off-the-floor clean with a large TV, 3 small tables, a mini refrigerator, and separate closet area. The bed is large and comfortable. The bathroom is large and lovely with what appear to be hand made tiles. There is a shower but no bath tub. The owners recommended a local restaurant, took us to buy our bus tickets, helped us plan our visit to Venice, and answered every question we could think of and more! Breakfast included juice, tea, fresh bread, fresh fruit, packaged cakes and crackers. We were also served fresh espresso and coffee, a homemade apple cake, and fresh jams made by the owners from fruits grown in their backyard! If we get the chance, without a doubt, we will come here for another visit!

But also if you come by plane and intend to stay at least 2 nights, especially in the summer. The B&B has a big garden with a great pool. There are more than enough seats, chairs and sun beds for all guests. There is a bus stop within 100 m of the premises. The bus takes you in 30 minutes from the relaxing environment in Vanessa House towards the busy center of Venice. There are 3 different rooms (2, 3 or 4 persons). All rooms have a very good air conditioning and a minibar (empty, so you can put it whatever you like) or a refrigerator. The building has a very solid construction so the noise isolation is perfect. The bath rooms are nicely decorated and extremely clean. The hosts Elena and Moreno are so friendly and helpfull that you feel immediately at home. Moreno picked us up at the Mestre station and brought us to the property. Then, he drove us to a shop where we could buy the bus tickets to Venice and the multiple day passes for the bus/vaporetto in Venice. Both will do everything they can to make make your stay enjoyable. We could even join them a couple of times to their favorite restaurant as this was a bit further from the house and somewhat too far to walk over there. They offer a nice breakfast and are open for suggestions or specific needs. Other guests who had a kid with milk allergy, got without special request Soya milk the next day for the youngster. After discussing Parmiggiano cheese one morning, the cheese suddenly appeared amongst the other cheeses for breakfast the next morning. Elena bakes almost every day a fresh cake which is highy recommended. If we go back to Venice in the fiture, it will for sure be in Vanessa House again.
