Tom claimed he was well versed in painting over wallpaper. Unfortunately this could not be further…read morefrom the truth. After discussing with him a multiple step process that he would take to properly prep the walls, it turned out that he did not follow through with the discussed process. Instead of sanding the seams, applying a skimmed coat, re-sanding, priming, and then painting like originally discussed, Tom only primed the walls and then painted. Because of this, the primer seeped through the paint, leaving white streaks and blotchy spots of paint on our walls. After bringing this to Tom's attention, Tom promised to refund a portion of the money back to us to have another painter fix the issue he caused. Tom informed us that he would send a money order with the refunded money but because he asked us to pay him in cash, we were not comfortable with this and requested him to drop the money back off or meet us somewhere to give us the money back. We have now reached out to Tom multiple times asking for the money he promised back and he has never answered us. In addition, Tom then proceeded to post pictures of our home on Facebook after not responding to our messages. However, what his Facebook posts failed to include was did the poorly painted over wallpapered dining room that he claimed to have experience in painting, which I have included pictures of in this review. Tom's morals, integrity, and ethics seem to be nonexistent as well as his attention to detail and quality of work. Tom willingly took advantage of my family which is very upsetting especially with it being during the holiday season. If you are in need of a painter, I would not use Tom the Painter and recommended finding someone who is trustworthy and can produce detail oriented, quality work.

I know little about the painting industry and he took the time to explain the process of what he was going to be doing to the interior of my home, as I was concerned. Him and his employees were very respectful and courteous to me and my family while on the job not to mention very knowledgeable. When the job was finished I found no traces of paint splatter, no scratches on anything and I REALLY appreciated that they respected my home as much as they did. I've since re-hired them to fix up my back deck and re-stain it and I'm confident I will get the same quality I've gotten on the first job.
