The range of meals on their menu manages to cater for everyone as it includes fish, chicken, duck and beef dishes as well as various vegetarian options too, all of which are available at very reasonable prices. Tabletops, clean. Silverware, shiny & streak less. Wine glasses, spotless. I was in the mood for crispy noodles and to my pleasant surprise they had them on the menu. Not soft/stir-fried but crispy as in crunchy. Not every Chinese restaurant has crispy noodles. Did I mention I like crispy noodles? :) I ordered the "crispy" Char Siu Chow Mein, sat back and waited with anticipation albeit reservedly. What came to my table was well worth the wait. A generous plate was set in front of me consisting sliced Char Siu pork, green onions, white onions, bamboo shoot, mushrooms, miniature corn, Chinese water chestnut, carrots and bell peppers....on a bed of crispy noodles! It was delicious and I polished it all off by myself. Don't judge me. There are only two things I'd change. I have recently found that I have a wheat allergy - something that makes dining out a nightmare. However, there is no cause for concern when dining here. Not only will they make sure your dishes are wheat / gluten free, they have changed their recipes for items, for example tasty Prawn Crackers ( which, I swear, are better than the wheat versions ) and will happily make adjustments to the banquet menus, where possible, including the Early Bird menu. For example, when I last visited the restaurant, the group I was with decided to go for the Early Bird menu. I thought I would have to miss out on the platter course because of the contents. However, adjustments were made so that I could have just as many dishes as my companions ( ribs, chicken wings, pickled vegetables, prawn ball ). Their reason for changing the menu - "You don't want a change because you don't like something - it's because you physically can't have something". What a wonderful experience. They also have a buffet menu on offer which represents good value for money even if the dishes themselves don't impress too much. All in all, China Restaurant is a decent place to go for a Chinese meal as the prices aren't too unreasonable and the staff there are friendly enough, but there are definitely better Chinese restaurants in the area.
