The people who own and work there are very knowledgeable and will give you a honest opinion when you are choosing and evaluating rugs. They have been in the business for many years and travel overseas to stock their inventory. The hand tied rugs are of very good quality. I think I have purchased five rugs from them and I am happy with each one. This past month I brought a runner in for cleaning. I believe it was the first rug I bought from them. It is a beautiful beige Chobi with traces of reds and blues woven into it. The rug is in a hall off my front entry and between foot traffic and my dog, it gets extremely dirty. They cleaned it so well, I can nows see the original reds and blues in the otherwise beige background. It could not have been an easy job. Finally, let me say how friendly all the folks are! I had a 20-year-old rug in my living room that needed some serious TLC. It was so dirty from years of cats in general in grand dirt and spills, I thought about getting a new rug. But I really really like it. Luckily when I started searching for a local company, ODR came up near the top of my searches. I made an inquiry online about an estimate and got a call back within 15 minutes. Customer service was exceptional, great communication by email and phone. Because I don't drive I had to have the rug picked up and then brought back, but the fee for that was quite reasonable and on both occasions they showed up exactly on time, which you can't say for a lot of people making deliveries or service calls. The rug now looks brand new. It has colors in it I had forgotten! It smells nice too. They also suggested I get a carpet pad and so I said yes and now I have one exactly sized to the rug. I am very pleased and would highly recommended this business! P.S. I should also mention that all this took place during the coronavirus pandemic and when employees came into my home they were wearing good masks. read more

We have a set of 1940's floral hooked rugs that belonged to my grandparents. The rugs were damaged with age, pets and wear, and have been stored for 25+ years, rolled up on our garage shelves. Afraid the rugs were beyond repair, I hesitated to discard them because of their sentimental value. The husband was on a tidying spree in the garage, so after searching reviews for rug repair and cleaning, I was pleased to discover Oriental Designer Rugs. I picked the rugs up today, and was thrilled! The rugs I remember from my childhood are restored. I drove from Colorado, where we now live, to my hometown of Atlanta to visit family. Having unsuccessfully (and frustratingly) shopped around the Denver area for rugs, one of my goals while in ATL was to find several rugs for our Colorado home that we had completely remodeled / refurbished. My experience at ODR was DELIGHTFUL. Shahn greeting me upon entering their clean and well stocked showroom. I explained what I was looking for. Shahn listened to me, asked a few questions and then, along with the very helpful and friendly staff, preceded to show me options. Shahn is extremely knowledgeable about rugs of all makes, styles, and types...and (thank heavens!) very familiar with their inventory. I left with two beautiful rugs with which I am over the moon. After having looked at HUNDREDS of rugs both in Denver and several other places in Atlanta -- I can honestly say ODR has the BEST inventory for both handmade and machine made rugs. But what made ODR stand out was the helpfulness and service of their knowledgeable and friendly staff. I brought in an old (60 years old) high quality Pakistani oriental rug. The rug had moth damage on the border and our dogs had chewed the fringe in a number of places. In addition the rug had survived a fire in our house with smoke and water damage. Vineet and his team restored all the damage and cleaned the rug and when it arrived it was in better condition than when I bought it 35 years ago. I was truly blown away and I am enjoying my "new" rug and hope that it will be passed down for generations. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and were continually in contact as we made decisions regarding the restoration process. These guys are great! We walked in with an idea of something we thought we would like. They very patiently showed us what we asked for. Allowed us to take them home and try them out (thank goodness!). Once we got them home we realized that was not the direction we wanted to go. The next day we started from scratch and again Vineet and Sean were so patient. They are happy to show you the very bottom rug and don't care if you reject it. They encourage you to take them home because they aren't just trying to get the sale, they want you to love it.
