Ok so my previous review was apparently ranked as "not recommended" by the automation software and is not taken account into the overall score.
So I will make this as elaborate as possible. Also, please do read the non-recommended section, there are things in there that is of need for concern.
I used to frequent this shop because it used to offer a very good deal for Hong's dumplings. However due to poor customer service and (current) pricing of these dumpings and other goods in general, I have decided to stop shopping here. I wouldn't call myself a big spender, but each of my trips used to go over £40.
So what is my main problem with their service you may ask. It's not a simply oh s/he said something rude, but they gave me the wrong change twice-for the same amount. These events happened about a year apart, so I feel that it is more than 'coincidence' / mistake.
In both of these cases I was buying Hong's dumplings and paid in cash. In both cases the cashier (same lady) told me that she gave me the correct amount despite my protest. However in the first case, I was told to leave my phone number behind because they had too many people in the queue to count the cash within the till. I did not leave my number behind because as far as I know there is no reason why they can't sign my number up to spam calls to spite me. Of course I could have sat around and waited, but I didn't have the time.
In the second case on 3/7/2016 I was again buying some of Hong's dumpings (trust me they are good), in spite of my previous experience I thought I should give them a second chance. To my surprise, it happened again. For the exact same amount of £5; now you might not think much of it, but if they happen to make this 'mistake' once every 10 customers it can become quite the sum. Luckily It was quite late so there weren't a lot of people in the queue, so they agreed to count the till once they were done with the last 3 people.
Perhaps I am ignorant, but the first thing I suggested here was to check the CCTV behind the till. The reply I got from this was that it will be quicker if she counted the cash in the till. What? This assumes she hasn't made a mistake beforehand! There wasn't much I can do since all of her colleagues were speaking to me like some kind of criminal.
About 15 mins later lo and behold, she found that she was indeed in the wrong. Did I get an apology from her? Nope. Did I get an apology from her colleagues? Nope. Not even a smile from any of them. All she did was hand me the £5 note in silence. Absolutely atrocious customer service.
IF THIS REVIEW BECOMES A "NOT RECOMMENDED" REVIEW, I will just stop posting on Yelp and go somewhere else to post. read more
