I went several times this spring, and saw no local asparagus; now it's the middle of summer, and aside from hydroponic greens, there's nothing local in the shelves. This compared to Tomato Mountain Farm, which has pretty much every vegetable or fruit that grows in this region, or Prairie Food Coop in Lombard, or any of half a dozen coops in the city, not to mention the farmers markets. Also, at all of these places, you know exactly where the fruits and vegetables are coming from, which has never been the case here. (Even when they did have local produce, the farm it came from wasn't mentioned.) Their bulk and spices section is still great, as are their bakery items, such as their regular deliveries from Publican. But I mainly shop for fruits and veggies, so there's not a reason, anymore, for me to come here regularly.

The sales people are friendly and helpful (if perhaps a tiny bit pushy) and pointed me in the right direction for what I sought. They carried bottles of Korean red ginseng (my alternative to a can of diet Coke) as well as a Red Bull-esque canned drink that didn't suck. Prices are reasonable -- I think? -- and upon checkout I was given a free energy bar with my purchase, so yay! Selection of products appeared vast, so if they don't carry the exact item you're looking for, odds are good that sh*t doesn't exist.
