1-Star Review for Guzzardo Music!!!…read more I usually don't call out businesses, but after four months and five chances, I feel completely justified in sharing my experience. I dropped off my daughter's flute in JULY to have it repaired before she started band. When school began and it still wasn't done, I was told it was my fault for bringing it in "so late." Fine--I accepted that and waited. At the end of August, I called: not done. Mid-September: still not done. I went into the store the following week because my daughter had now been sitting in band class for six weeks with no instrument, and nothing was getting resolved. Only then was I offered a loaner--something that had never been mentioned before, despite multiple conversations. I was told the flute was "almost done," just waiting for the tech to sign off, and they would call me when it was ready. Fast-forward to NOVEMBER 17th..... No call. No update. Nothing. I went in today and asked--again--what was going on. I was told the flute still isn't done, and the reason? Because they gave us a rental, they "worked on other people's instruments" and let ours sit. So after four months, my daughter's flute is still unfinished. After five attempts to follow up, I still received no proactive communication. And after giving them every opportunity to make this right, I'm left with an unrepaired instrument and a very clear impression that my business simply wasn't valued. This experience has been beyond disappointing, and I would strongly caution others to think twice before trusting Guzzardo with your instruments or your time.

I'm not from Rockford but decided to check it out while in town. I described that I was looking for and he introduced me to a Godin, which I liked very much. I was so impressed with the customer service I received there, that I am going back to have them evaluate all my guitars.

Price was reasonable, order was processed within a day in the middle of busy Christmas season, the guitar was well packaged, and arrived within 5 days from IA to CA. Highly recommended!

On the opposite side of that, it's awesome when you find someone who has a true passion for what they are selling. The later is what you'll find at Uncle Ike's. I'm not sure who the name of the gentleman was who helped me (I think it might have been Kevin?), but he was an older guy but boy does he love guitars. I should briefly digress and say that I wrote to their email address online, and heard back from them *within an hour*. Talk about awesome customer service! As I was telling him a bit about what I was looking for, he armed me with a TON of knowledge about each guitar we looked at. He took me through the very basics of what features of the guitars differentiate the pricing, and then gave me a ton of background of the companies. His knowledge seemed endless. He knew where every guitar factory was, what kind of guitars come out of there, what era each guitar was popular in, and so on. He was completely content to talk to me for almost an hour going over everything. One of my favorite things was that he couldn't seem to keep his hands off the guitars! Every time he was talking about one, he would pull it down, jam out on it just a little bit while we were talking to give me an idea of the sound. He never once asked about my price range or anything, and seemed more interested in teaching me about guitars in general which was great. I could have been a well-informed buyer anywhere I went after I stopped into Uncle Ike's, but of course I wanted to take my business there. It's rare to find a great salesperson in most places, but certainly go to Uncle Ike's if you're interested in finding the right guitar. The staff there was awesome, and made me feel completely confident in my purchase. I love my new guitar! Now I just have to find a name for it...
