Pablo chicken salad

We went for lunch. Got there around noon. Handicap parking was close to front door. They have lunch specials for a great price. Service was great and food was delicious.

When we walked in, the restaurant was not busy, definitely steady. A lot of open tables but they were down servers. We waited 20 minutes to be sat so servers could catch up. The restaurant was clean. Our server was kind but definitely rushed. It was our first time ever going, so it would have been better to receive an explanation on the menu, favorites, etc, but we chose the deep dish and fried ravioli. The salad was fresh, and the cannolis were good. Their take on a deep dish is much different than Chicago. I expected a lot of sauce, and a lot of cheese, and was surprised to not get that, actually it was completely opposite almost none of either. Would like to try again!

Our trip to Oreganos was great! We were celebrating my mother in laws birthday. We sat at a wonderful large booth that fit the 5 of us very comfortably. The decor and the music were very welcoming. We were greeted warmly by our server who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered our drinks. (Sangria, Sprite, Margarita, and waters) No complaints! Very good! We ordered our meals. Kids pizza, meatball sub, Diablo shrimp pasta. The pizza was okay, a little soggy and no crisp other than the crust ends. My son didn't really care for it. I ordered the Diablo Shrimp Pasta. The chipotle cream sauce is delicious! The shrimps were huge which I loved. The garlic bread, amazing! I was sweating from the heat but it was so tasty that I was okay sweating through this meal! LOL My fiancé ordered the meatball sub. It was HUGE! The meatballs were large, the bread was perfectly crisp, and the cheese was so gooey. Perfect sub! We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to visiting again soon!

We love the consistency of oregano's whether in state or or out of state. The service is always good and the quality of food is always good as well. What you order is what you get no surprises we love this about oregano. The atmosphere is fun and good for large parties as well.

Brisket ravioli bites

Went in for happy hour today , the service was excellent! The bartender was managing the bar and a 25 top and was on point. Football was playing on the television the restaurant was busy but calm, and the music wasn't to quiet or to loud. I got the tini zucchini and the brisket ravioli bites, both were delicious. The zucchini was my favorite perfectly flavored and not too fried or breaded. It was also Auriahs suggestion. Perfect and it hit the spot.

Leftovers from the original container, but still see evidence of the lack of sauce vrs pasta ratio.

Wasn't impressed with their "family bundle meal" Where is the marinara sauce?? And only two meatballs? Thanks for the $50 worth of noodles. A complete waste of money for a generic product. Red sauce is sweet, which is just weird for Italians. Delfalco's or Pasta Brioni's are literally a block away, go eat at a real ITALIAN traditional family spot. This place is garbage. I ordered take-out, btw.

These were yummy as they were strong;)

32 yrs in business. I've been here countless times. And in different locations. I think this one is the best personally. I enjoy their Lady's A Scampi everytime. Love a Bellini or their white sangria. And the original pizza cookie if you have room! Busy but not so busy that you get lost or forgotten by staff. Ambiance is casual and not stuffy.

Great food and good quantity as well for the price. Kind of an old Chicago style Italian restaurant in the middle of the desert :-)

Ask the Community - Oregano's

Do you guys have an outside patio still?

Yes they have outdoor patio seating.

Did they get rid of the carne asada pizza?!?

I think so. haven't seen it on the menu for a while. But lots of places are doing abbreviated menus right now, so you can always email the restaurant. They're pretty receptive.

Average cost for 2?

about 30. If you split a pizza and salad. The salad alone can fill 2 @ about 12.00, you will not leave hungry.

When we walked in it had a very fishy smell, so it kind of made us second guess our choice. But we went for it anyhow. The greeter/server was very pleasant and sat us. It was very clean inside with ample space between seat. We browsed through the menu and started with our usual edamame and pot stickers. The edamame was salted well throughout where a lot of places just put the salt on top only. We ordered a couple varieties of sake which were both good. Out of all of the things we ordered the karange skewer was just a little more oily than were use to, but still good. The spicy salmon roll had really great flavor and the lollipop roll was probably one of the better versions that we have had. The musubi was giant to say the least, it was good, but offered a bit too much rice. Overall the food and service was great and we were very happy that we ended up here!

On a Sunday evening, after checking out the Desert Botanical Garden, I was looking for some food in…read morethe area. I came across Zu Izakaya and it's great reviews as one of the options. I love Japanese food so my decision was made. I drove over and parked in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): I've been to Japan and there are plenty of izakayas there. Think of them as small bars which often serve solid food. Zu fits that bit. It's a relatively small restaurant, probably seats about 30 people. and it's pretty no frills for a Japanese spot. I was seated at a booth in the corner of the restaurant. They have free WiFi which is always a good touch. Service (3/5): Service was friendly, though a bit inconsistent. My waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. The type of service where you have to flag them down to get what you want and to close out. Drinks (4/5): Zu has a nice menu of Japanese and Korean beverages, including sake, soju, Japanese beer, and more. With that being said, I just had an iced green tea. Food (4/5): I got a nice variety. I went with the Japanese sausage off of the grill menu, the OBI mayo roll off of the sushi menu, and the cheese corn off of the appetizer menu. Let's start with the sausage. It's a small item, two small sausages, but absolutely delicious. The sausage was bursting with flavor and basted in a sweet sauce. Minus the portion size, perfection. The cheese corn also hit the spot, but the execution was off. The corn is served on a hot platter, and unfortunately some of the corn on the edges was badly burnt. The type of situation where they should start over. Which they didn't. Lastly, the OBI mayo roll is essentially a California roll with marinated warm shrimp on top in a mayo sauce. I didn't love the hot and cold combo (shrimp and sushi), but outside of the temperature, it was a delicious roll. All in all, a very food meal. My only gripe with Japanese food is that it can get expensive quick. Given that Zu is in Tempe, I was hoping that prices would be a little cheaper. With that being said, they do have a solid happy hour (and reverse happy hour) with both food and drink specials. Next time I stop by, I'd like to check out some of their Korean options. I focused on the Japanese stuff this time (which makes the majority of the menu). Next time around, the bulgogi is calling my name!

We were seated inside quickly - it was a slow afternoon. Signs on the door let you know they have A/C however they left the front door propped open so it wasn't that cool inside. We each had a cocktail and they were pretty good - him a Painkiller on Main (he said it was good) and I had Ranch Water Paloma but asked them to mix tequila and mezcal rather than have me choose one over the other. Quite tasty! We just did apps: Fondue Blanc served with linguisa, pretzel bread and roasted cauliflower. The fondue was especially delicious with the cauliflower. We also had pimento cheese served with potato chips and chicharrones. I've only ever tasted grocery store made pimento cheese and was not a fan but when I tasted the pimento cheese at Beginner's Luck, I instantly became enamored. Totally enjoyed it with the chips. I recommend stopping in for a bite when wandering Old Town.
