My friend and I went to First Watch for brunch this morning and were shocked by how short the wait was! We got our table shortly after putting our name on the list and were greeted with our server. We sat inside and while it was busy, it was perfect to catch up while eating. Our server was great and ever gave me my own pot of coffee for refills during the meal. We shared the million dollar bacon which was perfectly chewy. I also ordered the steak hash on their seasonal menu and loved everything about it. It was so filling and had so much flavor. The new Fall menu made our food choices easy. I thought the pickled jalapeños on the maple back sandwich paired well with the sweetness of the maple croissant and brown sugar bacon. The pumpkin pancake was good, I would've liked a little more pumpkin spice plus a second cake. The pomegranate sunrise was a great take for a tequila brunch cocktail. Came here with a friend at 11am on a Friday. Despite the hour and day, it wasn't full or on a waitlist and we were seated immediately. I enjoyed the carafe of water we were provided on the table and was offered a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I don't think their coffee is a house blend. It tasted like keurigs coffee, which isn't to say it's a fact but it tastes low quality. I ordered a seasonal drink called the Tangerine Dream (shown) and the Tri-Fecta with poached eggs, chicken patties and a pancake. I'm a huge fan of pancakes and I'd like to say I have a knack for identifying them. This one was just good. The patties were good too. Overall, everything was just good. Nothing to rave about and I don't particularly want to attend again when places like Snooze exist. I was between appointments and decided to treat myself to breakfast. Wasn't sure where I wanted to go and then I remembered there was a First Watch at Promenade. Perfect! I was a little nervous that I'd feel awkward being a party of 1, but the hostess didn't even bat an eye. She put my name on the list and said maybe a 10 min wait, but it wasn't even 5. I was given a regular menu and a holiday menu. Not much appealed on the Holiday menu today. I was in the mood for the basics, so ordered the traditional breakfast. There was a drink on the holiday menu though that piqued my interest - Red Medicine. Let me tell you - it may be the best juice beverage I've ever tasted. They need to bottle that! Pomegranate, cranberry, black tea, honey and cinnamon. Whoever came up with that deliciousness deserves an award. My breakfast was good, but nothing overly special. Over easy eggs done exactly right. 4 slices of bacon, unlike the 2 other places tend to give you. I requested extra crispy and this was just right, but not a big fan of whatever brand they use. Toast was good and I appreciate the little cup of jam. The potatoes weren't my favorite. I'm not a big breakfast potato fan and prefer shredded hash browns. We arrived about an hour before closing and had really good service. My Purple Haze (add a wellness shot) was delicious as always. Our Holey Donuts didn't taste right but our server was quick to get them replaced. I usually eat breakfast food but I tried a lunch item this time. Some of the best breakfast in town! We came during spring training and it was full of people but the wait was very limited. The menu has an amazing selection of items. Our server came by to grab our drinks. We ordered the seasonal donut holes to start with coffee (they give you a hot craft of coffee for your table with flavored & regular creamers). Since I've developed a taste for the A.M. Superfoods Bowl, I guess First Watch deserves a 5. We know what we are getting into at First Watch: a wait for a table but consistently good food. No matter which location we go to, the staff is knowledgeable about their menu items, and we can get our meals made dairy-free. My husband's go-to is the avocado toast. It's more upscale than a diner but not pretentious, which makes for a fast but not rushed, semi-relaxing breakfast (if you're not seated by a family with hungry small children) - but that could happen anywhere. Great food and great service! I tried the combo, with half a chicken avocado salad and the other half turkey club. When I asked for no bacon on my sandwich, our server immediately offered to replace it with a different protein, which I've never had happen anywhere! What a nice gesture! I replaced my bacon with chipotle chicken, and the sandwich was delicious, as was my salad. The prices are very reasonable, too. We visited the original one when it was in downtown Scottsdale. It's always neat and clean and orderly. The noise level is acceptable. Again he was just in the back talking. Once he comes over we order, and he didn't even write the order down. I asked for vanilla creamer for the coffee I ordered and never received it. I couldn't even drink the coffee I paid 5$ for. We got our food separately even though we ordered it all at the same time. Which wouldn't have been a problem but it wasn't the right food. So yes, I returned for breakfast two days in a row and I'm glad about it. This time I ordered the chicken sausage and lemon ricotta pancakes. These were both LOVE AT FIRST BITE. The staff also brought me another MORNING MEDICATION juice and samples of the Kale Tonic and seasonal pomegranate pear or whatever it's called. The Kale Tonic is something I would drink everyday if I could. Now that I'm back in Chicago, there are multiple locations outside the city. I need one in the city limits, preferably Hyde Park.
