Oregano Pizzeria Hampstead (that's its actual full name) is, as its name suggests, a pizzeria in Hampstead (it's actually off Finchley road). I haven't physically been to the restaurant, but we ordered from them the other evening when a group of friends came over unannounced. We were all very impressed. Pizzerias are a dime a dozen in London. What (we collectively felt) separated Oregano from the boys was the depth of flavour they pack into their pizzas, the thin, light crust of their pizzas and the speed of delivery. FYI, there's a dedicated app for even faster ordering / delivery. We ordered the Quattro Stagioni (four seasons pizza), Pepperoni, Vegetarian, Chicken Pesto, American and Tuna. All were fantastic but I personally liked the Tuna most, having never had a pizza with tuna before, or any kind of fish for that matter (anchovies don't count). Unless there was a hardcore, non-dairy vegetarian in our group, I would probably replace the Vegetarian with a Quattro Formaggi next time. The leftovers passed the morning after tests with flying colours too. Oregano is well worth a visit, take away or home delivery. Hey! I liked that they make the pizza in a wood fired oven, however I didn't think the sauce or cheese had much flavor. The crust was decent and the toppings were nice. It just wasn't a perfect marriage of molten goodness. Also note it's more of a takeaway/delivery place, with just one 4-seat table if you want to eat there. read more

Here's a massive secret: I literally live behind Oregano. They probably don't even know this, but I'm hopeful that one day the owner will read all of these glowing reviews and notice mine and say to himself "Hey let's induct that chirpy Yelper who lives behind us a lifetime supply of pizza". Sigh one can only dream about the perks of being a neighbour. I don't know what I could offer in return. Sugar? Milk? A expert palate to sample new menu creations? I'm dreaming again. I tell ya what's dreamy? Their pizzas. Screw the Dominoes down the road and upgrade yourself to thin, slightly chewy bases nicely charred from the wood fire oven, lovely fresh toppings and very reasonable prices. My favourite is the Bufala with extra garlic which I call the "Dominator". If you ask for it, you will be met with dumbfounded stares by the all-Italian crew. But unlike Dominoes, the bases are so free of grease that you could be eating pizza as if its a major food group. Hell yes. Yeah, my neighbours rock. read more

Stop looking for the best pizza in town. You just found it ! There are no other words to describe these pizzas than amazing! I went for the 4cheese- took the half meter - literally got delivered in 20minutes and it was just hugely tasty. Thank you oregano! I have often found proper Italian takeaways to be a bit hit and miss in London, especially if you don't go for the pizza options. Then I discovered Oregano. The lasagne is amazing, with large quantities of mozzarella melted on top, and the parmigiana is the tastiest I've had - that's including dine-in Italian restaurants I've been to recently. The pizza is great too. Lower delivery amount limit is a handy £8.50, making it dangerously justifiable when you get back from work late and just want an easy evening. Big fan. read more

I have been here twice now. Once to get a take out and second time to actually eat in the restaurant. Both times, the pizza was amazing. They truly make the best pizza I have ever had. I came on a Friday night and was expecting it to be busy but it was surprisingly quiet with only two other tables occupied. The staff were so attentive and efficient. The food was spot on with no complaints at all. If you ever want a pizza and in the finchley road area then order pizza from here, it is amazing and reading the other reviews, they deliver quick but with no compromise on taste which is always a bonus. I would definitely come back here for a meal and catch up as I loved the location, the atmosphere in the restaurant and everything about it. read more

Just had my first pizza from here as I stopped by a clients house. Mmmm! Authentic proper pizzas. Delicious, good quality and fresh ingredients. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended. Forget Pizza Hut or even Pizza Express, this is the real deal. read more

Amazingly, we ordered today and after they were 20 mins late we called to find out that the driver had been in accident and were told it would take 10 more minutes for a new driver. 17 minutes later we were again told 10 more minutes. This could be a one time unfortunate issue... but we had the SAME story last time we ordered. AVOID this place. After making hungry children wait twice, we will never order from here again read more

Very tasty pizzas, it's amazing for a small shop on Finchely Rd but they are really just as if they were home-made. Not greasy at all as virtually all commercial pizzas are even in the best restaurants, all ingredients are good quality and tasty, the dough/bread is proper Italian style (I come from a region 10min from Italian border so I should know), and their tomato sauce I could eat with a spoon. We ordered from them maybe 8 times so far with my partner when we don't feel like cooking, and we always liked it. They always say it will take 40min but it usually only takes 20-30. It's really a place that is worth giving a try. read more

We got a take out on Tuesday night, ordered on Just Eat and 20mins later, pizza arrived! I really enjoyed tuna, onion, garlic and black olive pizza, I added mushrooms for a quid. The pizza was very filling, even my gf gave up on finishing mine! Prices are certainly a bit more than their competitors. Still, very good pizza! read more

First time in London and we were looking for a good simple meal for our first night in town after 18 hours of travel. Fortunately for us, we stumbled upon Oreganos Pizza. Best pizza I've had in a loooong time! The oven baked taste, fresh ingredients, delicious crust and meats made for a yummy pizza! I highly recommend Oreganos to anyone looking for a good simple meal. I'm definitely ordering another pizza before I leave London! Cons: -Delivery was a little slow but it was worth the wait -They had trouble processing my Wells Fargo Visa debit card. When I called my bank they said nothing was wrong with my account (no fraud alert) but that Oreganos appears to not have ability to process international visa debit payments. Good thing we had cash (pounds). Although inconvenient, the pizza was worth the inconvenience. Make sure you have cash if you have an international Visa Debit card. Enjoy! Best Pizza in London, to my mind. Very fresh and authentic, all made in this huge wood burning oven. Only ever tried the Vegetarian pizzas, 'Verdura' and 'Siciliana'(?) I think they were called. Huge long pizzas do pose one problem, though, taking them on the bus was always a nightmare one I'd gladly live with though :) read more

Absolutely terrible service. Ordered last night at 9:00, the pizza finally arrived at 10:30. The driver got lost as he did not enter our address properly into his satnav, and when we rang Oregano to ask where it was, one hour into our waiting time, we were informed it was late because it was raining. The pizza was cold and chewy by the time it arrived, which meant we only ate half of it. A complete waste of time and money, I can't stress enough how disappointed we were. read more

Terrible Pizza. We ordered the vegatariana. It is supposed to have roasted courgettes and roasted red onions. The courgettes were raw and most of the onion was raw too. They were merely dumped on the pizza and when courgettes and onions release water on cooking - it made the pizza soggy. Sorry I don't expect this from a place that claims authentic Italian pizza. Unlikely to order again. I don't think Italians run this place. read more

Fantastic pizzas, I've eaten from here 5 or 6 times now and I love their food. Bonus is that it usually arrives in half the time I'm expecting it to! However, the delivery guy has irritated me twice out of the three times I've had pizza delivered (other times I've eaten in the shop). First time I gave a sizeable tip, about £2, and he walked away after me giving it to him without a word, nothing. Not even a wave, nod, or half-hearted grunt _ Second time, I gave him a £20 note for a £16.40 pizza, and he just walked away without even reaching in to his pocket to get change. I watched him in disbelief thinking that his wallet might have been left on his bike somewhere and he'd be back after fetching it but he just got on and drove away! I'm not cheap, I would have most likely given it to him had he actually gone to give me change but to just expect it like that, and not even say thank you is pretty ridiculous. Long story short, amazing pizzas, and fast delivery! But give exact change every time if you don't want to be ripped off by delivery guy. read more
