The MD told me I had conjunctivitis, gave me drops and an antibiotic. I took them and then left for Lanham in the afternoon. Last night my eye hurt-I took the drops, went to sleep and woke up to my eye throbbing this morning, in Lanham. My colleague broke out the YP directory and found an ad for Dr. Hsieh. I called the office, the gal who answered the phone was very nice and able to squeeze me in as an emergency. When I arrived at the office, I walked in and although a little dated looking, I was so grateul they were able to see me. I was quickly escorted to a patient room and within minutes, a super friendly and smiling Dr. Hsieh walked in and greeted me warmly. I had seen a couple of old reviews online about his office and they did not do him justice. Dr. Hsieh is funny, warm, decisive and thoughtful. If I were local to this area, he would be my go to doc for my eyes. Thanks Dr. Hsieh! I hope you see this!!!!

Dr. Robert Hsieh is a great doctor. He cares very much about his patient. However the front office staff are rude and do not give patient proper information because they are always in a hurry to get rid of patient so that they can talk about their personal activities. As my daughter gets older she were developing poor vision and we were refer to Dr. Hsieh by our family doctor for over 20 years. When we made the first appointment for my daughter to see Dr. Hsieh the office staff that I spoke with over the phone was harsh. She spoke quickly and hang up the phone. She did not even give me a chance to ask any questions. I really thought that they may be very busy because the doctor is so good that they are trying to keep up with patients appointment. But when I went to the appointment I signed in and was to told to take a seat and wait to be called. I sat there about an hour only to listen to the office staff talk about their personal business. We moved from Prince Georges County and wanted to see Dr. Hsieh because he gave my daughter her first prescription, so I made an appointment and drove two hours to get to the office on time. Only to be told by the office staff that we needed an referral. When I asked why I was not told this at the time I made the appointment. The office staff said that, " Its not our job to tell you that you need a referral". I was taken by surprise and we walk right out of the office. We will never refer anyone to this office. There are many good caring eye doctors with polite staff out there.

I was immediately turned off from the office on my first visit, when they wouldn't allow me to brush my teeth in the office and suggested that I go to the public restroom outside of the office, due to sanitary reasons. Let me reiterate that they would not allow me to brush my teeth in the office and directed me to a public restroom. The office was not clean and very dusty (see pictures). Dr. Lipscomb was not impressive either. It never seemed care. He often came in after my cleaning unprepared. He wouldn't remember my last visit or our previous conversations about my dental care. When I said something about it, his dental hygienist tried to save him by stating that he has a lot of patients. He often put off treatments (like removing glue from my braces that he found) until the next visit. The technology and office equipment seems really dated as well. The dental hygienist that used to see me no longer works there. Unfortunately, I cannot remember her name. She had a really sweet demeanor and was the only reason I was able to tolerate continuing as a patient with this office. My last visit was the final straw. My visit for a dental cleaning was less than 30 minutes. A new dental hygienist (a young man) did my cleaning. He had no chairside manner. He did not introduce himself or talk to me or even explain what he was doing or how it may feel. He "cleaned my teeth" and did not rinse my mouth or give me mouthwash. My mouth did not feel dentist-clean when I left. I didn't even have a minty taste in my mouth. Dr. Lipscomb made a quick appearance at the end of the cleaning and I was out in less 30 mins. The one positive thing to note is the office has mastered seamless text communication to notify one of visits and procedures for coming into the office for appointments.

I referred my mom & dad. Then my daughter started going too. I might be a little spoiled & maybe entitled but I feel like I've never had better service & communication. And I will continue to refer him to anyone.

I recently underwent surgery for uterine fibroids at Doctors Community Hospital on January 16…read more While much of my experience was positive, a significant concern prevents me from giving a full five-star rating. The surgical care itself was excellent. My surgeon, Dr. Ibeanu did a wonderful job, and I am truly grateful to him and the entire surgical team for ensuring my procedure was safe and successful. I went into surgery fearing I might need a hysterectomy, but by God's grace, I was able to have an abdominal myomectomy instead--a true blessing. The nurse practitioners and most of the staff were helpful, attentive, and supportive during my stay, and the food was decent as well. However, on January 17, the day after my procedure, I experienced an unprofessional and hurtful interaction with a nurse. While recovering, I overheard a comment about my appearance in which the nurse stated that I was "ugly." At a time when I was already physically and emotionally vulnerable, this was extremely upsetting. I chose not to confront the situation at that moment, as my focus was on healing. No patient should ever endure remarks like this in a healthcare setting. Hospitals are places for healing, and professional, respectful communication must always be upheld. Comments about a patient's appearance are never appropriate unless a clear, mutual rapport has been established--which was not the case here. I strongly believe additional training on professional communication and bedside manner is needed at this hospital. Aside from this incident, my care was largely positive, and I am thankful for the medical outcome of my surgery. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future patients can feel fully respected and supported during their healing process.
