On one side civilization and the other mother nature. We saw some people camping in the center of what would be a river (to wild for me). It took us like 20 mnts to get at the end of o e side of the trail( down to the under bridge101). The workout part was the comeback, oh boy! I almost quit, the wind was facing us plus the trail went up hill( I thought it was flat), not to much but still. We made a few stops to rest, so i couldn't tell you the time it took us on the way back. I was too busy focusing on my goal of getting back to our vehicle!! Lol 1st place: My 7yr old girl 2nd place: My Husband & my 1.5yr old girl(in trailer) 3rd place: Meee!  Yes we made it!!

I like that it started off right away with an incline & it continued with an incline to the top. I would say this is an easy/moderate hike depending on the level of fitness but it's completely doable for beginners, kids, & I even saw pets hiking this trail as well. I hope this trail extends even further in the future so I can come back & really get a good sweat! View was nice at the top. Weather was beautiful & air was fresh which made it even more enjoyable. There are zero shaded areas so definitely want to apply sunblock & wear a hat esp when the sun is out.

The grass is well cared for by the park. Although the squirrels have created some big holes. Watch yourself, you can break an ankle!! I noticed more benches have been added. When I saw a sign that said Dunes open, I immediately was intrigued. It's a little off the beaten path but so worth it. I drove past the gate and down a windy road that was narrowed by the sand blowing onto the blacktop road. The sand was untouched. Crisp ripples of waves made of sand for miles. Then a parking lot overlooking a turbulent ocean and pristine beaches. Not a soul on the beach. I took my shoes off and made fresh footprints in the sand all the way to the water's edge. It was glorious! Back in the parking lot I read several placards of information and history about the area scattered around the parking lot as several other cars came and parked. There are several picnic benches and what looked to be a few pot toilets available. A fairly decent parking lot and handicap parking spots available. Grab a picnic and enjoy the day.

As I approached the entrance, I saw a board of rules (very helpful before you enter the preserve). Also, there is a little booth where someone will greet you. I was greeted by Megan, the Ranger. She was very friendly and greeted me with a great big smile! That was a good sign prior to entering the place :) On my way to the beach, I saw a bunch of cows that stared me down as I slowly drove down the road. I know they were staring because they were curious versus wanting to trample me to death...I think. The whole preserve is kept soooo cleeeean! I'm glad that it hasn't been bombarded like the other beaches. Overall, mind-blowing experience. Can't wait to come back. Would I recommend? Absolutely! Will I be back? Yup!

The park offers a couple of picnic tables, bbq pits, benches, and a beautiful grassy area to lay down and read a book. It's very safe here and parking is never an issue. Looking for some chill time, this is the place.

It's a…read morepark but a small green space park that sits on top of a bluff with ocean views and beach access. The park offers a small grassy area, 3-4 picnic tables with bbq grills, trash bins, and several benches with awesome views of the ocean and shoreline. There are no play area, restroom, or parking lot. Focus is on accessing nature. The bluff outcropping are no longer open to venture out onto. The area is roped off with a metal chain with no trespassing signs. The signs are there for a reason, for your safety. The below small swath of sandy beach and tide pools can be accessed by a staircase that is a short walk north of the park. There are no lifeguards. So please be aware of the tides. Parking is all parallel street parking on Ocean Blvd.

I used to take my daughter when she was young and she really enjoyed looking at the roosters. There's a bridge that takes you over to a park and you can picnic there. The Oceano Dunes cover 1,500 acres and are a huge draw for ATV's, Razors, four wheel drive and motorcycles. It is open daily from 7am - 10pm for day use. The beach area can handle normal cars and trucks. We arrived late in the day and there was not a ranger in sight. There is a small fee of $5.00 to take your vehicle on the beach. We paid by the honor system since the fee station was closed. After we paid, we went ahead and drove down the driveway onto the sand. Speed limit is 15 mph. We did not go far but found a great place to park and take in the views. The second time we went back for sunset and parked in the paved parking lot instead. Everyone that was there was having a great time with campfires, waves rushing in and out, dogs and kids running around. The temperatures were perfect, just a light hoodie was needed. Overnight camping is available but does require a reservation especially during high season. My grandfather spent many summers with his buddies camping here and fishing away the days. It did feel good to be here knowing this was one of his favorite getaways. This is definitely a unique experience.

DO NOT BRING ALCOHOL INTO THIS PARK & DO NOT LEAVE LOOSE DOG TURDS.... A SPECIAL HELL AWAITS THOSE KIDS WHO's PARENTS NEGLECTED TO TEACH DEM RIGHT IN THIS FIRST PLACE! DO GRAFFITTI IN KIWANIS PARK...
