She is very stubborn and didn't want to do the required 3 hours of therapy/day. The therapists were unfailingly polite and professional, but would not take no for an answer. Despite herself, she progressed very well. I am sure that she improved more here than she would have anywhere else in this part of Florida. And the food is great, too! Case manager Tina was very helpful, and always kept me in the loop regarding the plan of action and her progress. My only complaint? They are a short-term rehab facility. Their average stay is 10-12 days. My mother has definitely improved, but she had basically no mobility when she arrived and will definitely need more therapy before she's ready to go back to her home by herself. So we are looking for another short term assisted living or skilled nursing facility so that she can make enough progress to go home. I really wish she could stay here for another 2 weeks with her excellent team, but they won't change their policy. I am sure that wherever she ends up won't be half as nice as Encompass!

Theses two ladies shared in my care and they were knowledgeable about my issues, kept me engaged in my care so I could continue at home, They both encouraged and supported me in my efforts to regain my strength and I felt like they just really cared about me and about my safety while exercising. The fact that they both have a great sense of humor also helped greatly. I am so much better now and it is because of their care and training. Thanks to them and the very nice ladies at the front desk and to "G". They are all working on a new computer system in addition to their working with patients and doing it all with a smile.

I had the same issues and more at Lifespace Communities dba Abbey Delray North in Delray Beach, FL, an Unskilled Nursing Facility, where My Dad languished for 85 days. What he went through was horrible. We could have used a good Doctor like you there, but likely you would have ran into the same brick walls as you did at Solaris. As My Dad and His Family also did. I'm writing this because Lifespace Communities dba Abbey Delray North hires Select Rehabilitation, a contract therapy solutions company. The regional manager is Rachelle Breanne Sterling. Employed by Select Rehabilitation. I see she is or was at Solaris. She was very cordial and wanting to help the first time I spoke with her but nothing after I expressed issues. Natasha Gerlach is the Rehab Director over at Abbey Delray North also employed by Select Rehabilitation who knows about every issue. But the CONFLICT OF INTEREST between SELECT Rehabilitation and Lifespace Communities is just too HUGE. Rachelle and Natasha are afraid of losing their jobs if they speak up about all the issues going on at Abbey Delray North. One hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing because they are too fearful to speak up. I was told by a Lifespace administrator that with one phone call to Select Rehab they can get rid of one person or the entire Rehab Team. It's already happened. Is it the same at Solaris? Also like at Solaris, the attitude of most of the people over at Abbey Delray North when you have issues is HORRENDOUS. They will cover for each other and they will blame your Loved One for their issues. Absolutely Disgusting. Btw, Mark Raynor the Lifespace Communities administrator attempted to tell me the issues My Dad had was My Dad's fault. What a bum for even thinking that. Abbey Delray North is like a rudderless ship. I had STAT orders for two tests and only got results for one. When I asked why, I was told they can only do one same-day and have to send the other out. When I asked why I wasn't informed of that when I came in with orders that clearly stated up top in red that we needed same day results, she said "you didn't ask." So apparently you need to clarify if they're capable of following your doctors orders. They still charged me for the test even though I didn't get the results I needed. My husband was then contacted by Heather Travis who is a liaison for the owner of Sterling. Heather informed us that we would be contacted on Friday, Dec. 23. However, she did not call till after 9 P.M after we waited all day for her call. So she came Saturday and did the assessment and had me sign all the paper work saying that Medicare would be paying Sterling, also stating that a therapist named Nick would call us and come Monday because she knew he was working Monday. We never received a phone call from Nick and Nick never came to our home. Monday, Dec. 26 we contact Healther Travis again and she apologized and said she did not know why this was happening but she would make phone calls and call us right back. After 2 hours, never hearing from Healther, I left a message on her cell phone that I was in terrible pain. Two more hours passed and then the owner of Sterling called my husband and claimed my husband had threatened his staff. I was there all the while. My husband never threatened anybody. Was he angry? Of course, as I was crying in pain but he never used foul language or threatened anybody. The owner then told my husband he was letting us go as clients. A real professional and compassionate person, right? Now I have to look for a new company, and call Medicare to stop any payment to this very company with no compassion for a 75 y/o woman in pain. Instead of helping us he dropped us like a dog. I hope this helps other people in Port St. Lucie to make decisions concerning this particular home health care company and their staff who lie.
