One of our favorite experiences was heading to the pool as early as 5:00 AM to enjoy the peaceful morning in the jacuzzi, followed by a refreshing swim. It was such a relaxing and beautiful way to start our day! The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. A special heartfelt thank-you to Elma, Elizabeth, and the rest of the wonderful staff at Harvest 19, as well as David from Guest Services. Your kindness, warm hospitality, and genuine care made our family feel so welcomed and appreciated. The hotel stay from the bell-men, to the front desk receptionist, to the cleaning personal, to the staff at the Harvest 19 restaurant...all well very friendly and helpful. Most of our trip was planned to be off site and in in the various areas of Waikoloa to include King and Queens Malls, and also in Kona. But when we weren't out we were either at the beach connected to the resort. Or if it was during the evening after settling in, we'd hang out in the infinity pool and or hot tub. Harvest 19; Marriott on-site restaurant is a grear place to check out. Our forst evening there we enjoyed Happy Hour at the bar, and then enjoyed breakfast there most morning after, and then a late evening dinner there as well. Our room was really nice, and our patio area overlooked the pool and restaurant area which was nice. I also liked how close we were to the beach and ocean; specifically Anaeho' Omalu Bay. We went out a number of times during our stay, and it was just a short walk from the pool area to the beach. And on your way you we took a path that took us over some small ponds. Overall: We really enjoyed out stay at the resort.

We stayed in the palace Tower again this year and noticed quite an improvement in the rooms since last year. They were remodeled and were definitely much nicer. We really enjoy the pools, especially the one closest to the Palace tower. The only disappointing thing this year was that the bigger slide wasn't open the entire week. We were only there Sunday through Wednesday and found out the slide wasn't open Monday through Wednesday. Last year it was open every day. My nephew was definitely disappointed as the slides in the pools are the reason that he likes this resort and why we come. We also prefer the smaler pool. There are several restaurants on the property but as is usual for resorts the prices are exorbitant, especially for what you get. Most every meal we ate off the property. Drinks were very expensive at the pools too. Food and drinks being more reasonable and the slide at the smaller pool being open the entire week would have brought this rating very close to five stars. It's definitely a nice resort but some changes would make it even better. I think next year we're going to try somewhere else.

If possible, I'd rather rate this place with three "Warning" symbols below one star, if I could. As a Hilton diamond level member, I have seen varying levels of Hilton properties. Nearly all are well groomed and customer service is usually pretty good. But at this place...all the workers here gave me the impression they hated tourists! Everything was just "lip service" with no real care behind their words. And despite how beautiful this place is, I have never stayed at such an inefficiently laid out property. Oh, with taxes, make sure you're adding an additional $57/day to your room rate if you have a rental car for valet parking (being so far away from nearly everything, you need one...and they know it and gouge the customer!). But don't just take my word...as one opinion should ever be the determining factor in your decision. Please read the numerous other one and two star rating reviews...the complaints are never ending. What's even sadder, is that those same complaints have been going on for on for years and still come up regularly. Some are responded to by management with the same old "sorry we didn't meet or fell short YOUR expectations!" Does anyone besides me see what they're really saying here?...they're saying it is the customers fault for expecting too much! Really! Since these negative views go back years and years, that means it's now the property culture...they're not going to change how they do things. In so many words, they're saying "take it or leave it." Personally, I will never stay here again nor will I recommend it either...in fact, I will discourage anyone asking my opinion about staying here. If you choose to stay here, good luck. Management, please do not respond as you'll only be fueling the fire with more meaningless apologies and statements about falling short.

It seemed like guests would reserve their chairs early and the chairs were not turned over once they left. We would walk by and see tons of towels showing chairs were claimed but no one in sight. The only pool that you are able to easily get a chair at is the spa fitness center pool. If you want a safe / easy snorkel option, they have a snorkel pond; King's Pond is 1.8-million-gallon carved lava rock aquarium with tropical fish and spotted eagle rays.

Folks parking in one tandem spot. In essence taking up two spaces. Distance wise - it's a1/2 hour drive from and return to KOA. In previous trips we stayed in Kailua-Kona. I don't believe whoever Ryan is, is in fact a real person, and if he was and his job was to smooth anything over with unhappy clients, he should be fired. 2 for 2 on poor experiences at locations that are actually really are nice facilities. Being that we stay at least 2-3 days out of every month in some sort of hotel, resort, or airBnB, why is Marriott having such a hard time and none of the other places? Last, I see why we are moving toward automated front desks. Either their policies make the desk the way they are, or there is nobody on the island that can do their jobs. The front desk is so important, and why at my business we take it so seriously. You'd think Marriott would too.

We opted for a suite upgrade with two bathrooms and two balconies, and it was just perfect. From the beautiful furnishings to the beds and pillows, we loved everything about our room. Housekeeping went above and beyond throughout our stay. Our Costco Travel package included daily breakfast, which would have been around $130 for two with tip. That was such a wonderful inclusion, and the breakfast had a large variety of high-quality food. The attention to detail throughout this hotel truly impressed us. A five-star experience in every way, and we could not have been happier with our stay!

The hotel is located about 30 minutes above the KOA airport and 40 something minutes above Kona. It is around 30 minutes to Waimea. It is in a beautiful enclave with other resorts. The private beach is absolutely perfect for people looking for family and simple hangout time as well as people looking to go just passed the lava reef barrier and for dynamic adventures in the surf and reef beyond. Staff were incredibly helpful and incredibly pleasant! Our room was beautiful. The carpet is older and definitely could be replaced and maybe a touchup of paint. But otherwise it was spacious, incredibly accommodating , and in terms of shower and bathing facilities two could independently clean-up at once , a comfortable bed, a good size TV, excellent air-conditioning and a large patio. Food and drinks were great. There are options to use Brown's Deli for breakfast and they include gluten-free! You can do specialty dinners at multiple restaurants as well as room service. The outside bar-restaurant was closed for renovations while we were there so we didn't get one option we would've enjoyed. The beach bar is excellent to spend time at and and also has great food options via the airstream trailer behind. Prices at the Fairmont Orchid are resort standard and not that much higher than the rest of the island. A daily resort fee of $50. Parking $40 for self $60 for valet. Food prices are island prices so you're looking in the $20's-$30's for most items. We had an amazing time and can't wait to find a reason to come back with friends and family or just ourselves on another trip!

We booked an ocean view room and I can't describe how it feels to look out and see palm trees, clear skies and the ocean. There are 2 restaurants and a few shops, including Goop. The pool is large with comfortable seating and umbrellas. Rooms are clean and housekeeping is on top of things with nightly turn downs. Mini refrigerator in the room is stocked with water and there's a coffee bar as well. The bed is really comfortable with luxury linens. Double sinks in bathroom across from each other and a large shower stall. Our balcony overlooks the pool with a view of the ocean and mountains. There's a large gym on the ground floor and laundry room with complimentary washers and dryers. While I haven't used them, there are spa services available. Valet or self parking available.

BAD COCKROACH INFESTATION!!…read more We stayed here for 5 nights in Aug 2025 and unfortunately our experience was ruined by a persistent roach infestation inside our unit. On the very first night, we killed six live roaches indoors. Over the next two days, we encountered several more inside--including one crawling near my foot while we were eating at the kitchen table--which terrified my children. We also saw many on the patio, along with ants along the wall near the sliding doors. We were unable to use the patio or keep the doors open for fresh air. Management sent pest control to spray, but the cockroach sightings continued. They offered less than 10% partial compensation, but it didn't make up for losing the ability to relax or feel comfortable in the unit for the majority of our stay. We understand Hawaii has tropical insects, but this went far beyond the occasional sighting. This was a recurring and disruptive issue that affected our enjoyment of the vacation. Management said it's "normal" for Hawaii. Well, I've been coming to Hawaii for decades and I can confidently say this is a bad infestation because I have never before experienced anything like this. Especially at resort (supposedly) of this caliber and price point. And management's response was slow and unsatisfactory. I do NOT recommend this resort. Proceed with caution--especially if considering a ground-level unit.

They also provided banana bread, Nutella, and shortbread cookies on the table of the hotel room. The view was AMAZING and the ocean is perfect to swim in at any time of day. Many free activities offered daily. There are some nice restaurants on site- serves breakfast and dinner (at the Manta). I hope to get to come back someday.
