Gridley ca hospital is the worst hospital I have ever been to been sitting in the waiting room waiting for my boyfriend to get stitches on his finger for about 3 to 4 hours while they have a Christmas party not once did they come to check on him this hospital is the most disrespectful in slowest hospital I've ever been to it's like they don't even care about their patients they would rather party and sit around then too take care of their patients which is their job and while sitting in the waiting room I've noticed it's like they only care about having a party and talking with each other and exchanging gifts then worrying about patients read more

We received wonderful care from Dr.Maxwell last weekend in the ER and had Dawn as our nurse! We had international travel that was time sensitive and Dr.Maxwell did everything in his power to analyze what was going on with my family member, and gave us multiple options to choose from recommendation wise. The care, concern and willing to work with helping translate was above and beyond. Everyone we dealt with was friendly from the waiting room throughout our whole 9 hour stay. I would recommend this ER in a heartbeat, it's good to remember they are smaller and don't always have the same resources as a larger hospital, but they have HEART, and I appreciate the staff greatly! read more

Went in for insect bite- so not an emergency- but figured since we are new to the area, we should check out the emergency room. Check in process was generally good overall experience, wait times for being seen, medication and discharged were outrageous. It's a good thing we did not have an emergency. Saw the doctor all of 5 min and did not explain medication plans or honestly give any information. Nurse who came to administer meds was confused and made me worried they were unsure if the meds they brought in were for me or someone else. Just shows the quality of nurses here are subpar. Discharge nurse came in and had to get a second opinion for temp as she was unable to get an accurate reading and also informed us 45 min wait for discharge was actually fast! Needless to say, I was there for 2.5 hours, received little information, and will be traveling to a different urgent care for any non emergency. read more

My doctor, nurses and CNAs, PTs , OTand even the woman that cleaned my room were so compassionate, friendly and helpful. I recommend this hospital highly, and if I ever needed hospital care again, this hospital would be my 1st choice read more

Is Emily the disgusting front desk person who was so scared she had to call her bf the security guard to save her from me letting my husband take home our daughter? Or is Emily her friend/family? Might want to fire her too. For legal protection. I'd like to point out to add to my pervious review the ER Dr Amy (in front of Theresa the phlebotomist) told me that if I left the hospital grounds (even tho my presence was triggering my suicidal 13 year old) she would call social services and report him abandoned. And if I took him with me, as they didn't have staff to supervise him which is their job which they receive funding for, she would call the police and have me arrested. These threats were ILLEGAL as per the law, the police I contacted after, my sons LAWYER, and the supervisor who contacted me afterwards to APOLOGIZE for their horrendous handling of this crisis and lack of training. If any more of the hospital staff and friends and family choose to continue harassing me, I will change my mind about suing the hospital for damages, filing criminal charges and a complaint against Amy's medical license. We found out taking a very sick baby to this hospital is not going to help, as they do not have pediatrics there. I would have been more understanding if the DR advised fir us to take her to UC Davis the night my daughter brought my Grandbaby in, but he didn't and sent her home. He did test her for the rihnovirus and rsv which came up negative. 2 days later she was worse, I called this hospital and an amazing nurse told us they would transfer her to US Davis if we brought her in anyways if she needed more than what they could do for her and told us to drive safe on our way there. So we took her right away, she is in ICU getting amazing care! She has HMPV virus which also went into the beginning of pneumonia and a UTI and she's only 10 months old. My daughter said the DR at Orchard tried to take care of the baby, but was not equipped to do so. Maybe instead of sending her home, advising to go to UC Davis would have been sufficient enough for us because we did not know where to take her to get her the help she needed and we were just reaching out for help 8r advice. I have been to this hospital for myself and they went over and beyond to help me, but infants or children, take them to UC Davis if really sick. read more

This hospital is going downhill, and it wasn't a high hill to begin with. One of the pm registered nurses has a severe attitude problem. She seems to not care about her patients or if they are safe or not. If you come in after 7 pm via ambulance, chances are you are going to have to crawl home and hope to not get hit by a car or arrested. I'd rather die, or hitchhike to Oroville, than come back to this place. read more

Yes the hospital is a little old but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. It's the people that make all the difference. I felt so well cared for and genuinely appreciated and comfortable. So I had three separate visits to orchard to remove my gallbladder due to stones. I have pretty severe social anxiety, and I couldn't recommend this hospital more. First was meeting Dr. Pari Patel, the surgeon. He's a calm, friendly, highly experienced, and thorough person. I told him I hadn't been sleeping well due to pain and even though he was explaining things really well, and didn't know how to explain I wasn't following the visual description. Without a second thought, he drew out the process on paper and educated me on everything. He's very patient and kind, intent on just making sure I knew what to expect. His nurse managed to sneak me into a ultrasound the next day! They scheduled me for surgery in two weeks, just lightning fast care. The second appointment was radiology the next day. The radiologist was a sweetheart, just a genuine person who was personable and lovely to talk to. She made an otherwise really uncomfortable procedure of the ultrasound against a really tender area go by quickly and really pleasantly. Third and final visit was today, my surgery. My nurse who got me situated in my room before and after my surgery just took such great care of me throughout the whole experience, again, really personable, friendly, and considerate. Her first concern was that I was comfortable, it really showed. All of the nurses were great at saying what they were going to do before they did, making sure I understood and consented, double checking if I had any questions consistently. Really a stellar team, none lacked any professionalism while still being just warm and welcoming folks. I informed the anesthesiologist that I have anxiety, and he explained the sensations to expect with general anesthesia, the steps involved in his end, and made a point to be comforting to say he's be there the whole time monitoring me, there's no need to worry. Patel played some nice jazz in the surgical room, and I wasn't anxious about having surgery. That's a really big deal to be able to say. Thank you, all of you, for making something I was dreading an actually really fun and pleasant experience. I appreciate it! read more

Orchard hospital sucks. They make you wait for 3 hours in the waiting room. Doctors are slow as a turtle. I would rather take my chances at Rideout. I will never come back to this place. My daughter has been waiting for 3 hours to see a doctor and all they do is make excuses. Customer service is the worse. Just because this place is so much in debt don't give them the right to make patients wait for hours. I didn't wanna give one star either. read more

With a ridiculous small ER waiting room, sick patients were sitting on the floor while a sad amount of staff walked past them until one finally asked to bring out chairs. Awful, If I Could Rate It 0 Stars I Would. I Went In To This Hospital Twice While I Was Pregnant Last Year, Both Times Because Of Pain And Cramping. One Nurse In Particular Was EXTREMELY RUDE And CRUEL, She Kept Saying Degrading Things And Making Nasty Comments Insinuating That I Was Just Wanting An Early Ultrasound. When They Did My Ultrasound The First Time They Said I Was 7 Weeks Pregnant And Nothing Was Wrong, The Second Time I Went In Complaining Of Pain They Said I Was Only 5 Weeks Pregnant Even Though I Told Them I Should Be 13 Weeks Along. They Didn't Even Care, They Just Said I Must Not Have Done My Math Right. Two Weeks Later I Started Bleeding And Having Contractions And Miscarried My Baby At Home, Instead Of Dealing With Those Horrible People At This Hospital. read more

Orchard hospital is so horrible ! Do not recommend anyone to go to this hospital, Dr. Keum did not pay much attention to my 4 year old brother and the nurse Olga was so rude! If I could give them no stars at all or negative stars I would! So mad that my little brother had a fracture on his elbow and they told us to just check in with a doctor in 2 weeks, no medication was given to him, that happened on Saturday 5/11/19 and it is now Monday and we brought him to UC Davis because they truly are amazing here and they said luckily we brought him in on time and he was put into an emergency surgery! read more

I went to the ER on a Monday evening, I knew I was going to have a wait. Both Dr Maxwell and Jessica the nurse were GREAT. Not once did I feel like I was a nuisance. Took my wife there for pain management! She left worse off than when she entered the place! We just moved here from Mississippi where she was getting excellent pain management for long term chronic pain. Took two months to get an appointment because doctors had quit working there. Seems they have a problem retaining good Pain Specialist at the facility and instead use Doctors who are not interested in treating the patient but interested only in protecting themselves. Even the doctor she saw, told her he wasn't staying and she would be seeing another doctor at her next appointment! Remember, the Intern who was LAST in their class, is still called "Doctor"! Now I have to listen to my wife cry in pain all day long, after the poor treatment received at this facility! We WILL be searching for a different facility in the area we have chosen to live in! Went into Orchard to be checked on 05/18/2017 had some funky Heart Pains going on let me tell you this is a small rural hospital with a feel of family and friends. The Nurse Joy along with Respitory therapist I believe her name was Beth and the other young Lady Ashley I think (She had blonde hair) Are the kindest sweetest very knowlegable people I have ever seen at Hospital. Luckily I was just fine just reaction to stess and fatigue apparently which is very possible. Thank you Orchard you may be small but make up in a big heart. I also will mention the registration staff polite and quick, radiology "Ed" polite and funny and Dr Lum very nice. This an all around great place read more

Terrible, unprofessional hospital. Don't know why the state hasn't closed it down. My mother was scheduled for a simple surgery, she did all the pre-op tests & instructions. She was taken back to surgery & supposedly anethestized. The surgeon attempted to do the simple surgery, mom felt everything, in excruciating pain. After several attempts the surgeon backed out, stating he didn't have the proper instrument. Mom was removed from surgery and placed in recovery where she waited a few minutes then got dressed. The hospital then said that Mom should have the surgery at Enloe, in Chico. Once again Mom had to wait to be scheduled but Enloe did successfully do the surgery with ease. I don't understand why & how Orchard Hospital can schedule a surgery, have the patient do all the pre-ops, take her to surgery, fail with the anesthesia & not have the proper instruments. How unprofessional to subject a nearly 80 yr old lady to pain, unnecessary anxiety and then fail to be able to due the surgery because they were unprepared. Even more unprofessional, they had the nerve to charge for their mistake. I would not recommend this facility, run elsewhere if you value your health. read more

I would not recommend this hospital, the waiting room was smaller than a family practice waiting room, people were standing and the staff did not once ask if they could get the patients some chairs. I went in for a blood test and ct scan. When getting the IV for my scan, the nurse did not know was she was doing. She went in without any knowledge of where my veins were *I have very light veins on my left arm* she dug and dug in my arm and I asked her to stop, but she continued to go for it. I fainted it hurt so bad, I have had IVs before and never have I flinched while getting one. Later on after the results, a different nurse came back to remove my IV, she then took it out and taped it immediately then left *assuming she was busy, that's fine* well not even 20 seconds of her leaving I look down and blood was dripping down my arm so I got a rag and it soaked a good amount of the rag as well. I called her back into the room and she told me it was fine. IT WAS NOT. The previous nurse blew my vein now with it being 3 weeks later in still in discomfort and my bruise is almost extremely dark. read more

Came in with my 2-1/2 year old. Her eye was almost swollen shut. Waited an hour until I went up and asked how much longer bec she was getting ansy. They told me they didn't know how much longer so I went and sat down annoyed. About 5 mins later the nurse came and called us back. Then we waited another 15 mins until Dr. Maxwell came in and looked at my daughter. He told us it was a minor bug bite and antihistamines will help with that. He also then noticed my daughters skin. We've always been told it is excema by her doctor. He told me that it's actually a skin condition. That blew my mind. I was going to leave a bad review bec of how long the wait was but that doctor saved their review. He was amazing. And we are appreciative. I would recommend to friends and family but just be prepared for a long wait time. read more

Staff is friendly and nurse were great! Dr on the other hand un professional. As a dr you should take a whole year of training on compassion and common sense to become a dr. Trying to diagnose me without looking at my chart later to find out my strep test came back positive. Clearly something was wrong. But the dr didn't want to hear about it at first until he was proven wrong. Waiting wasn't too long. read more

The staff are polite and try to connect on a personal level. However that is of little importance when you show up with your 2 year old son who's face is red and swollen up so much on one side that he cant open one eye. That was 3 hours ago when we arrived. Still no doctor, no answer on what was wrong with my son. On the plus side the swelling is gone and he is no longer in pain. I will not return no matter the emergency because they apparently just wait for the problems to subside. read more

I took a tour of the Hovlid part of Orchard hospital. I couldn't believe what I heard. As I walked by two Cna's I looked at their name tags, one was Jessica, the other, Stephanie. The tall big one said she would like to do bodily harm to a co worker. The short stubby one said she wished they would fire her. Sounds like the boss needs to step it up and get rid of some violent Cna's. Isn't that called workplace violence? I also heard them say as a male resident passed that he smelled. I will not put my family members in a place where they work. I will never forget their faces. If I heard that, I'm sure the resident did also. They are bad for business. I feel sorry for the co worker they want fired and hurt. If the boss won't get rid of them, the CEO should step in. I wonder how they would like it if someone said that about them or that one of their family members smelled. You will lose business as long as they are working there. Step up boss man, just talking and giving warnings is not going to work. If that's your plan you better get a new one. read more

Before it became orchard hospital it was pretty horrendous but I must say it has done a complete turn around. The wait time can be a little long but not unmanageable the staff is pretty good with the exception of a few they really do care for your health and will work to find the answers and solutions to your problems read more

First of all it isn't Orchard Hospital, it is Oroville Hospital. The OP is correct, it's nickname around town is "The Morgue." The emergency room is filthy with very little seating. It's usually filled with transients or people living on the street. Your care is on a first come first serve basis. I took my husband in there with pain in his lower back near the kidney. They told him to have a seat. My husband was in extreme pain and I got up and told the person in charge that he was sick. They said to sit down, first come first served! There were children in the waiting room fighting with each other and I had enough. I told my husband to go get in the car I was taking him some where else. I went to the front window and unloaded a few words and left. As it turns out my husband had massive blood clots on the lungs and one lung was collapsed. He nearly died and he would have died if we stayed there. Unless you're ready to meet your maker, do not go to this hospital. If you choose to go make sure you have a will or trust because you are not coming out of there alive! read more
