Shortly after the filler was placed, I sought evaluation from a nationally recognized injector and trainer who diagnosed malar edema and advised that the filler had been improperly placed. This was my first experience with tear trough filler or any filler. Since then, I have consulted numerous injectors, vein specialists, and oculoplastic surgeons, all of which is documented. Contrary to your statement, there is extensive published discussion within the aesthetic community regarding the long-term complications of tear trough filler, including persistent swelling, malar edema, Tyndall effect, migration, and filler remaining detectable years after injection. These are recognized complications and not claims I have invented. I have never stated that this experience was a "new" problem that suddenly appeared after eight years. Dr. Tariq presented as kind, warm, competent. I felt immediate trust in him to do my service. Yes it was painful, but that is expected. He used ice to numb the area for a short period of time before going in. Because the eyebrow area is so small, it is tolerable. I do want to say I have a high pain tolerance. To me beauty = pain. ;) I anticipated that I would need 6 sessions 6-8 weeks apart however Dr estimated 2-3 sessions 6 weeks apart. I am 6 days post treatment today and it's gotten so much lighter. I visited their Huntington Beach location and had such a wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional. Because of that positive experience, I decided to purchase a Groupon and book another treatment at their Irvine location. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more disappointed. My appointment was scheduled for 1:50 PM, and I live approximately 30 minutes away. At 1:30 PM, I called to let the receptionist know I was running five minutes late and would arrive at 1:55 PM. She told me that was completely fine. At 1:48 PM, they texted asking if I was on my way. I couldn't respond because I was driving. Shockingly, at 1:52 PM, they had already canceled my appointment, marked me as a no-show, and sent a message saying I would be charged 50% of the service! I arrived at exactly 1:55 PM, just as I had promised, only to find the door LOCKED. Nobody would answer or let me in. I called customer service, and even they couldn't reach anyone at the Irvine location. I stood outside waiting for approximately 30 minutes until an Uber delivery driver arrived. Suddenly, an employee opened the door to accept the delivery. When I approached her to explain what happened, she was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying she was on her lunch break and didn't want to talk to me. So apparently, they had time to open the door for an Uber delivery but couldn't take a moment to help a paying customer who had called ahead and arrived at the agreed-upon time? What makes this even more frustrating is that I genuinely liked SEV Laser after my experience at Huntington Beach. I was happy to support the company with my own money after initially being introduced through a PR collaboration. Unfortunately, the Irvine location completely ruined that impression.
