We have spoken to everyone there and they tell us it's done and sure enough, they think we won't notice when they charge $150 again the following month. This is unacceptable and no one should have a membership here unless you only plan to workout here for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. I'm not sure why this location doesn't have great reviews but my experience here was pretty good. I used to go to the sugarhouse location and loved it, then I went to the other salt lake location, then holladay. Out of the four locations I've been to, this one by far has the best and most motivational coaches. I'm sad they don't have one closer to where I'm moving because orange theory is my absolute favorite way of working out. read more

UPDATE: Finally got to successfully take a class, and while there was definitely an irritating process I'm glad to have been able to make it work. I emailed again on 12/22 and on 1/4, called once on 1/6 and finally got someone to commit to calling me back after sending a DM on instagram -- today was my free class 1/28. So about a month to get in the door, and during the third follow up call to confirm I was coming to the 1/28 class, the friendly girl on the phone noted that no one ever actually booked me for the class. All that said, the staff and trainers are friendly and the workout was awesome. I bought a 10 pack of classes and am excited to go back. -- I booked and paid for a class via the app that they link directly from their site (MINDBODY), paid for my first class (5am) and was super excited all week to try it! I got up at 4am and was in the parking lot by 430am while I sipped coffee and waited for the first class to start -- then at 443am got a text saying I had missed my appointment. Not only that, but the text was a group message to myself and another person. So unprofessional! Apparently you're supposed to get there 30 minutes early, and the person who was supposed to alert me of that "forgot". Still couldn't take the class, even though I went inside the moment I got a text. I'd be very nervous working out at a place that can't even uphold their own policies and has that sketchy and unapologetic of customer service. Super disappointed because not only did I wake up at the ass crack of dawn, but was really excited to add OT to my workout lineup. read more

The coaches and staff have changed my life. I could never stick to any exercise plan, OT changed that. Their plan took care of all of my excuses; no waiting for equipment, help modifying exercises, help with heart rate and setting goals, plus I love the coaches and have made friends with people in my classes. I loved it so much the first day I signed up and signed up my daughter. In June I was diagnosed with lung cancer. OT was easy to work with when I took a leave and when I was ready to come back. Nick has been great to help me with strength training that I can do with my new challenges. It seems a little over the top, but OT is helping me save my life. Worth every penny! read more

You get such a good workout. You are pushed to a new level BUT you can also go at your own pace. 2. The music. Hi. Love it. It feels like a club in there. Well, maybe not. My club experience is limited to one karaoke session in SLC so, you know. Grain of salt. 3. The trainers and motivating and uplifting and perfectly hands-off/on. 4. Different workout every day. This is so important. I am never bored. 5. The dim lighting makes you look better. Swear. 6. You can SEE your heart right and calories burned on the big screen. 7. IT IS FUN. I am not kidding. My wife and I both signed up trying to get back in shape, but towards the end of our first 30 days decided it really wasn't for us. OTF has a rule that if you complete 12 classes within your first 30 days and cancel you get your money back. I knew I had no chance of completing 12 classes, but my wife did. She completed her 12th class on the same day of her next billing cycle, which several employees assured her would still count for her 12th class in 30 days. A week after cancelling, management (Reid was the manager I spoke with) told her it would not count and she would not get her money back. Here's where the bait-and-switch occurs... When you sign up it's explained that you can cancel within your first 30 days and if you compete 12 classes you get your money back. Making it seem that you can cancel at any point within your first 30 days without strings and if you were to complete 12 classes and cancel you get your money back. What's not explained is that if you don't compete 12 classes and don't cancel your membership the SAME DAY YOU SIGN UP you're automatically charged and enrolled another month and won't get any membership fees back. It wasn't just the miscommunication of one employee because my wife and I signed up on different days with different sales reps, which leads me to believe this is how they're trained. Completely unprofessional staff and a giant waste of money. To be objective, the workouts themselves are challenging and the trainers seem to care about their students, but that does not make-up for the business practices of this Orange Theory location. read more

I absolutely love orange theory and the structured workout I get here! The only decision I have to make is to get out of bed and get there! And I'm always so happy I do. When I was introduced to Orange Theory I had been out of the habit of a gym and this program totally helped me get motivated. However, the sign up and initial few days were a bit of a hastle and chaotic. Not because of the system, but because of what seemed like incompetence and a lack of professionalism on the part of the front desk staff- namely Sidney. I don't want to come across as a Sidney hater, because she is very nice and I am sure she is trying to do the best she knows how, but I write this because I believe she needs some more training on the "knows how" part. In the first few days It seemed like whenever Sidney was at the front desk, the monitor wasn't working right, or our appointments were not correct, or my husbands monitor was attached to my information and visa versa, and we got billed for a fathers day promo-something my friend already paid for. When we were there trying to get our merchandise credit from the fathers day promo redeemed, Sydney didn't know what she was doing and just gave us the merchandise saying she will figure it out later- not professional. That all eventually got worked out. But not by Sidney. The work outs are challenging and the trainers are motivating, and the workouts are great! So, I started telling so many people about how much fun it was. I really liked the data you get after each workout telling you about your performance that day! Naturally I was referring people to come in. I worked really hard to get my sister to come in and she planned on a specific date for 3 weeks before she could make it in to try it out. When that day came we were turned away. She was driving in from out of town and arrived on site at 5:59 instead of 5:45 late. Syndey was at the front desk, and informed us that due to the fact she was late she will have to reschedule, that she can not let first comers in at all even if they are 1 minute late. We tried to explain that she would be fine with filling out the paper work and jumping into the class with out the need for a big introduction, because my sister was familiar with all of the equipment having spent most of her life dedicated to healthy life styles and work outs to stay fit she already has worked with all of the gear, and we had explained it in great detail of what she would be expecting, and we would be there with her to keep her on track. Sidney politely said, I am sorry but that my sister would not be able to join the class that day there just wasn't enough time to get her into the system. With that she left us to sit there in the lobby and wait for the next 10 minutes staring at each other with nothing to do. No one else was there that would have needed Sidney's attention until about 6:10. I remember signing up and we had paper work done and the initial intro and a heart rate monitor on in less time then we sat there trying to figure out an alternative solution, after no help from Sidney we decided to take my sister to the local rec center to get a work out. After working so hard to get people into the gym I felt like this was very unaccommodating. Had it been one of the other people (who have helped us when Sidney couldn't in the past) at the front desk; they would have done what they could to help us out. We were there with enough time to sign everything up. But she would not budge or talk about another time she could come, nor offer any condolences or suggestions. It was very disappointing and an experience that has left my sister with a bad impression of what the OTF can be. It has also made me rethink my own company's customer service and how one person can represent in a very different light than you would hope. I know one person doesn't always define the company, but sometimes one expierence is all you get. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. They rip you off for just walking in on a $28 day pass and don't even have that nice of a place. The girl at the counter is very sweet and I could tell she's uncomfortable having to hear that people complain. The owner must be a moron who needs a course in marketing. read more

The staff and trainers here are so kind, gracious, and fun to work with. The studio manager and owners have been super accommodating to unanticipated schedule changes, and you can tell that they truly value making every member feel empowered by their interactions and the workout as a whole. I have loved my experience at OTF OREM UT. I love that I can get such a intense workout in as little as 1 hour. I have never enjoyed a gym environment as much as I have loved the Orem studio. The employees and other members have become like family and I am as excited to see them as I am for my workout. I was a member back in 2017 and ended up taking a year off for some career choices I made. When I rejoined in November of 2018 my experience was far surpassed what I remember the previous year. I have been so impressed with the staff they make me feel so welcome and always go out of there way to check in with me and my progress. I definitely would recommend OTF Orem to all my friends and family. read more

This is the best HIIT workout! I am addicted, and I absolutely hate exercising! I love the fact that I can get a full workout in 1 hour, but it's different every time I go. I also love that as a member of Orangetheory Fitness, I can workout at any location around the world when I'm traveling! I have been at Orangetheory Orem for more than two years now. The workouts are awesome and they really do push you to be your best. The coaches are awesome and very dedicated. The MCs are awesome as well and extremely helpful. However, recently I have been extremely disappointed with this Orangetheory Studio due to lack of proper management. My wife, Coach Madi worked at Orangetheory Orem for three years. She was so passionate about being a Coach here and ever since I met her that's all she talked about. Eventually she became the head coach and gave pretty much all of her time to this job. However, when the COVID-19 hit they laid off all of their employees with no idea when they would open again. That was totally understandable because no one knew what was going to happen in the world at that time. I was going to be gone for the summer and originally we were going to do long distance. She decided to come out and work with me with me since Orangetheory was talking about reopening in July or August which is about the time we were coming home anyway. She ended up getting a job with me for the summer. However two weeks into the summer out there, the regional director told her that Orangetheory would be opening again in two weeks and she would have to be there and that they would be significantly reducing the pay. My wife explained the situation that she had gotten a job out there and that she didn't think Orangetheory would be open for awhile. She said that she could come back in June and that she would be willing to step down from the Head Coach position and return as a regular coach there. The regional manager proceeded to say that "if she was really a leader, she would come back to Orangetheory." My wife decided that there was no way she could be back in two weeks on such short notice especially because we were living on the opposite side of the US. She told the regional that she couldn't do it and decided to step down. The regional director has given her the cold shoulder ever since. Which is crazy because of how much time Madi put into going to every single training and doing whatever this regional asked of her. In the meantime me and my wife continued to go to Orangetheory where we lived. When we were about to come back to Orem I decided to freeze my membership because I didn't know if I wanted to go back to Orangetheory Orem just because of how the regional director had treated Madi. I requested a freeze form. The studio manager didn't send a form for THREE weeks after I requested it. Come to find out the reason that she wasn't able to sent it is because she was super busy ( being super busy at lake Powell and apparently never coming into work when she said she was going to). Finally got the freeze form filled out and decided to cancel. Took another two weeks to get a cancellation form ( again apparently the studio manager was super busy). My wife decided that she wanted to stay at Orangetheory to workout even with all these letdowns. Yesterday my wife had an appointment go a little too long and texted Orangetheory Orem to take her out of one of the classes before it started. The studio manager (the super busy one) then proceeded to say that it would be a $12 late fee charged. When I signed up for Orangetheory I remember them saying if you call before hand and can't make a class, they could take you out. I also thought this was extremely disrespectful to do to someone who worked there for so long and gave so much to Orangetheory here. Come to find out later that the studio manager texted all the MCs and asked them not to take Madi out of the class if she asked them to. We have had a lot of our Orangetheory friends complain about the studio manager here and her lack of work ethic. I used to have quite a few friends go to Orangetheory and had many who were interested in joining. However, since they learned about how Madi was treated by the regional and the studio manager they have either quit, or decided that they weren't interested in joining the Orem location. This is sad to me because I did like this studio for so long. This doesn't reflect Orangetheory as a whole, but as far as this studio goes I would say to pass on this due to a faulty studio manager and incompetent regional director. read more

Average workout. Basically a half hour of treadmill jogging and rowing with some random ab workouts. Not worth what you're paying at all, considering if you want to try it for a month, you'll be paying for at least 2 months because of their monthly billing cycle BS. Basically you're paying $15+ hr for someone to tell you to run on a treadmill. Buy a year worth of Vasa membership for the same price as a month here (which is only 4 hours by the way). read more

OTF is more of a hobby for me than anything else! The workouts, coaches and staff make it so much fun to be there that I actually look forward to my workout everyday! Wish they would have sent me a notice saying that my classes were expiring. An email, text, something on the app saying, "by the way, you have until ____ to use your classes." Nope, instead they never send you a receipt by email or tell you that you just spent $200 on 4 classes (When you really bought 8). Workouts were great, not worth dealing with money sharks. read more

Alright, WOW! OrangeTheory Fitness of Orem has more than exceeded my expectations. I was hesitant to sign up for the free introductory workout because I'm not "gym guy" and truthfully I was kind of intimidated by the thought of failing at gym stuff. However when I walked in I was greeted by friendly staff, obviously trained in taking new people and making them comfortable no matter what their fitness level. They were genuinely focused on finding out where I was at with my personal fitness and building from that level, and they explained how each class is tailored to accommodate my own ability while pushing me to make improvements during each session. My first few workouts were pretty pathetic-these are legitimate, tough workouts-but it was so evident from day one that OrangeTheory was a place that would ultimately help me get into shape in a fun and safe environment. All in all, I would highly recommend taking advantage of the free introductory class. Come meet the trainers and MC's (they are "gym people" in the most endearing way) and experience working out in an environment where you are sure to lose weight, burn calories, tone up, and get in better shape.
