ZERO STARS!!!! I need everyone that has or is thinking of a VASA gym membership to read this. Don't do it. I have been charged over $800 in personal training fees even though I will never use their training. I was told in November to not worry about it and it's been taking care of when i asked to no longer receive personal training as it was expensive and i was moving back to texas. what i was told was furthest from the truth as I was texted mid april saying I had 8 $60 dollar training that i had been charged for after my conversation in November being told I no longer need to worry. they asked if i am ever coming in to use the trainings I had unknowingly payed for...? I had said to cancel everything and refund the money to me since i won't be using these trainings and they had said they won't be able to do that. They still charged me for two more sessions after a call and email sent to their "support" saying i will not want any training and a refund. yall they will not listen to their customer and they do not care about you...they care about their money. I am a college student and have never had such little amount of money since attending college. please don't sign up as they will only wish to take your money as i have seen from my experience. Also, if you move in with your parents and give the real excuse of moving somewhere that there are none of their gyms near your new location then they will not work with you as they have said they need utility bills as a proof of move...I don't pay bills for utilities in my parents house. Horrible administration. $15 a month sounds great, but after 2 months, they charge you $40 for a "monthly payment stabilization fee", and there is a pretty heavy cancelation fee. I have never had such a poor experience with a company. Most companies are going above and beyond to take care of customers during this pandemic. I have a compromised immune system and can't go to the gym. They refuse to work with me on freezing or canceling the account without charging me. They continue to charge me to freeze my account and do not enforce any health guidelines to keep their patrons safe. They didn't ask permission to charge my account to freeze it as well as charged my wife for the monthly membership dues right before charging us again to freeze it. read more

Great gym. Can be crowded at times but never to the point where you can't get a good workout if your willing to wait a few minutes between switching what you're doing. Two stars... Man, that is way too generous. I am sure others can chime in on other things here but my review will focus on the cancellation policy. I was in Utah for only a month and before joining the gym, I made sure with the employees that there would be no cancellation fee. She said it was month to month and no fee of that sort. I wish I got that in writing. When I went to cancel it, I had to pay $25 cancellation fee... I went to the gym, tried to explain and they said there is nothing they can do about it. These are just poor college kids working so I was like whatever but this BS policy they have put in place to just basically scam their customers is very disgusting. Unfortunately, VASA is a nasty big corporation and nothing will probably happen and they will continue to keep pulling off things like this but here via this review, I am just helping out someone looking for a gym at the moment. They moved all of their bands that you can use for stretching to the personal/group training area and won't let you check them out. When i asked an employee about it they were very rude. This is the kind of thing that this gym consistently does. They move more and more of their equipment so that it only exists in the personal and group training areas. Probably better off finding a different gym or just buying the equipment yourself, but not exactly what you want to do when you have a gym membership already. That compounded with their customer service should make you steer clear if you can. read more

In my opinion VASA for the most part deserves roughly 2-stars. It provides an adequate gym experience for a decent price. I do use the words "adequate" because well it's Vasa and you can expect machines to be broken, hidden fees, and unfriendly employees. This vasa location gets an extra star taken off because of the horrible experience I had with the staff. I was looking to change my gym location from the 9th east location in Provo to here. When I walked in a noticed a manager legit berating one of his employees. I was trying to get help but I instead witnessed a shouting match. When the yelling ended, one employee begrudgingly helped me. When he pulled up my account his first reaction was, "oh my gosh. You haven't been to the gym in a while." Super unprofessional. My keys were STOLEN inside the gym and they did nothing but give me the hard cold shoulder, rolling their eyes, telling me they were too busy to even consider the issue as a priority, of course, the safety of my vehicle and my house are not their concern. I have had the absolute worst experience that I have EVER had with any company EVER. today I went into the gym as I do every day literally, now my boyfriend originally had bought me this pass and pays for it. When we signed up it was online and he accidentally put his information in instead of mine but we had already paid the months fee, the enrollment fee and we had talked to the employees of the Saratoga Springs store and they informed us we could not change our name listed only the picture and to change the profile picture to a picture of me and thats how they would know that I am the one that the account would belong too, we had added on the guest privileges so that my boyfriend and my mom would be able to come to the gym with me. When I went into today the desk attendant Jamie who was working informed me that our membership had been cancelled since October and we had only been paying for guest privileges which I do not understand how that is possible since on my app it says we are enrolled and vasa HAS been charging us the full amount. She informs me that since the account is not in my name I was performing " theft" I informed her the situation and told her we have talked to corp and the employees front desk beforehand she did not seem to care at all and proceeded to be very rude, I asked her if it was possible to renew the membership and then she told me she had cancelled it, which I NEVER asked her to do. I really wanted to workout that day and I had brought my mother with me and I remembered that VASA offers trial passes on their website so me and my mother went to the car and signed up for a free trial pass and I figured I would sort out the problem with corporate and my boyfriend since gis name was on the account. I go back inside and I informed Jamie that I would return tomorrow with my boyfriend to sort things out but me and my mother had trial passes to use for today. She then proceeded to tell me to use a trial pass we had to have NEVER been to Vasa before, I was extremely frustrated and asked her to show me where on the website it says that. I handed her my phone and she kept saying the same thing over and over that it didnt matter what it said I wasnt "allowed" to use a trial pass since I had been to vasa before which made NO SENSE. it did not say that ANYWHERE on the website, I kept asking her to show me WHERE it said that. Instead of answering my question to told me to leave the building or that she would call the cops on me for "theft of service" which was RIDICULOUS because my boyfriend had been paying and it was NOT our fault they have been charging us wrong. She then proceeded to call the cops in front of me and yell at me for not leaving the gym, after that I walked out and I have never been more ANGRY and disappointed in a service ever before. read more

The first $50 fee made sense because they want you to come in and of course will tell you it's $10 a month to get you in the door but once you refuse the upsell of $20 a month then you have to pay an upfront $50. But I never suspected that I would be hit with another $50 fee on top of my $10 a month. That's a new level of shady. If I did that with my marketing and advertising business, I would have no clients. At any clients I have would be thoroughly pissed off. A LITTLE BACKGROUND: Now this isn't my first time being at Vasa. We still get a free membership because of the place we used to live. During that time we thought it would be great to get personal trainers. we had a great time working with personal trainers for my wife and I. I'd say that we even built a little bit of a friendship. We ended up moving and it didn't make sense for us to continue. That's why this was my first time sign up. ABOUT THE UNFRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT: Now this time around I already felt like when I'd walk in to scan my barcode the first few times the staff was pretty unfriendly, no smiles or "welcome to VASAFitness" and talking only to their friends. I mean don't they say "how can we uplift you?" So now today sitting at their personal training desk early in the morning while I'm preparing a new workout for myself one of the former personal trainers that we hired here at Vasa told me that their personal training desk wasn't a place to sit to prepare. "It's not for that" she said. I had been sitting there for a little while (30mins) and was about to get up because I was almost done and no one was around, so I didn't think I was getting in anyone's way, she had just walked up. This is someone that my wife and I have had a relationship with because of signing up for training in the past. Didn't expect that from someone you develop what I thought was a friendship. She even invited us to her wedding. I met her mom, seriously. She also said "we're trying to make this place a little more professional." I totally get that for the people that come up to meet their personal trainer, but what about me? Am I the one bringing this place down because I'm sitting at a desk? What about "i'm sorry, we're expecting clients here at this desk but you can sit at the empty seats over there to plan your personal workouts." No I don't blame her, I blame the environment that she has to work in. She is a very warm and sweet person and I would never expect that from such a kind individual though I would expect that from an organization that is focused on a getting your money and get out environment. I'm not upset at her i'm just blown away by the fact that, in a way I've been invited into Vasa's home and I'm paying them in addition to their hidden fees and they can't make me feel welcomed or like I have a place for me. It's like they say "Come on in!", "How can we uplift you?", "oh you can't sit there, The personal training desk is not for you to plan your personal workouts we're trying to make this place more professional." I tried to cancel through the app, since that is the way they advertised, and was unable to because of an "error" even though the app was displaying my account. After reaching out to the support email, it took over a week and several emails to finally hear that my cancellation would be processed. EXCEPT I would still have to pay next months fee because "of the terms of the contract" even though my next charge date was 25 days away. BUYERS BEWARE!... there are all sorts of hidden junk fees that they may or may not tell you about, and most people won't be aware of, but are hidden cleverly in the contract you sign. If you sign up and then want to change your plan, $25 downgrade fee, if you cancel within the first 6 months $25 fee and then there's the $50 yearly fee after 2 months... and when you decide to cancel they need a "30 day notice" which translates to you pay for next month's charge also!.. oh and don't forget they charge you $2.50 extra for using a credit or debit card on every single itemized charge. Just visited after the renovations and the free weight area is way more spacious. This gym's open space is so much nicer than the Provo location. So many treadmills. Love the open "grass" area. Sauna and pool is way nice. Machines are usually in good condition. The free weights are much better quality than they were; used to be missing or ripped rubber. If you are thinking about getting a VASA membership, save yourself all the hidden fees and mischarges and go somewhere else. My account got "mischarged" all but one month for a year. First month, after I downgraded, they charged me the upgraded price. Second and third month, they charged me twice for the "rate guarantee fee" (what kind of BS is that? Just charge an extra $5 a month; don't sneak in some fee in to up your monthly revenue). Then they said they would credit me 5 months free for the extra $60 charge. They didn't. THEN when I cancelled my membership because of all of this, they charged me a cancellation fee! None of these charges were brought to my attention by VASA; I had to catch these and bring them to their attention. If you have a VASA membership, check your bank accounts; stealing from the unaware is VASA's business model. (I only reviewed this location because it's the corporate office. I have nothing against this gym specifically.) read more

I have been a member of VASA Fitness for about two years. My experience at the beginning was negative because of the snap judgements I placed on the facility because of the types of people who I commonly saw working out. However, once I took a look at the facility and the people who work there without the people who attend the gym, I saw something quite different. The equipment was recently updated and is in excellent condition. There are 4 Olympic weight-lifting stations with all the weights and ranges anyone would need. They added another deadlifting station, and places it appropriately near the other stations as well as the squat-racks. My only quarrel here is the lack of decency people have in not putting away their weights. (Hence my 4 star rating). The Employees are great! I once had an employee give me a pair of socks because he saw me put away my weights. That meant a lot to me as a customer to know that I was appreciated. I even had a Spin-instructor give me a VASA towel because I helped "hype up" some of the people in the spin class. That also left a great impression on me. I recommend VASA Fitness to anyone in the area looking for a great place to work out. If you plan on staying, the fees are all in the contract so you know what to expect. This is an organization that asks for a little effort in return for many benefits. read more

Yeah, the gym isn't perfect. But compared to the myriad gyms I've been to across the United States, this Vasa has great amenities and the price is unbeatable. There are hidden fees ($70 a year or something like that), but all the equipment is high quality and generally in good order, like at any other gym. We joined VASA when the community gym underwent renovations. It's a fight to get a parking, it's a fight to get a machine. There are always broken machines supposedly in the process of getting fixed. Keep in mind this is a brand new gym; it hasn't even been open for 6 months yet. It's way too crowded. VASA closed another gym nearby before opening this bigger gym, but it's still not big enough to house everyone. Do they have restrictions on how many memberships they can sell?? People are constantly illegally parking because there just aren't enough spaces. Nearby businesses are posting no parking signs to protect their spots. It's a mad house. Also, my daughters joined and were working out between extracurricular activities. We just decided to cancel their memberships because they weren't using it enough. I understand you have to give 30 days notice. It's obnoxious to pay a $25 early cancelation fee, but I knew that was the deal when signing them up (if you cancel before 6 months of use, it's a $25 fee). But the real kicker is that VASA will not cancel your membership at the front desk! Seriously?! They have clerks standing by doing nothing, but they cannot cancel my membership at the same computer they signed me up on?! Instead, they give you a number to call within 9-5 business hours M-Th. You wait on hold for forever, and then the recording eventually offers to call you back. How about you use the bored clerks at the front desk?Thankfully, they did call back and I eventually got it taken care of, but this is ridiculous. Collecting fees isn't enough? Come on. When you ask the employees to do their job... They cry about it and say that the guy that does that job is out of town.
