The staff are always friendly, professional and helpful. The food is always amazing quality from rolls at lunch to the best chicken pie in the evening. We turned up without a booking just wanting a summer time drink but when we asked if we could possibly have a table they managed to fit us in. During lockdown we visited several times. Everything was really professional. We felt extremely safe but none of the enjoyable experience was compromised.

Staff was friendly and the place's ambiance was exactly what you'd expect an English Pub to be. Had the Steak Pie and jacket potato. Food was well done and there is a lot of "steak" in there. The Bell & Gate only done well in one area that being the product, great pint, their pipes must be well maintained full marks there and let's face it thats what I went in for. The place needs a good make over as it's well passed it's prime, shame really as it's a lovely looking pub from the outside. It has a wonderful garden but again needs to have some money spent on it like replacing the fence and improving the play area, over all if you like football and a good pint go!
