Truly Remarkable Service -- Good value for the price. Orange Roots Lawn Care took care of our front yard as well as our backyard and did an excellent job at both locations! The backyard had a challenging project for them since there were large two-foot weeds throughout the entire backyard, and Joel and his team handled it with no mess at all! It was a complete transformation! Joel is truly committed to making things right for his customers, and he also pays a ton of attention to detail. In addition, Joel is a super nice guy, very easy to communicate with, and will return (without hesitation) to fix something that you think needs to be touched up or worked on again. The amount of commitment to follow through with his customers is hard to come by and well appreciated! The crew itself is something special. They work together as a team -- they provide hard and efficient work -- and, to be honest, the excitement they have while they are working their job was super surprising to us. You just feel good when you see a group of guys that loves working together and take pride in their job they provide to you. *Beware*.....We were interested in hiring a Gardner and we reached out to Orange Roots with Joel and he came by and gave us an estimate. We were interviewing that day five other gardeners. We decided that we were going to hire him because he came across as very Professional. I told all the gardeners that I was interviewing that day I would get back with them that evening. So we tried to reach out to Joel and offered him the job, but we had a few questions. Joel's phone went to voicemail which was no problem. He returned with a text the next morning that said I will call you today at 10 AM.....Well, 10 AM came and went and my husband called back at 12 o'clock and he called us back. We had just a few questions and one was we always pay at the end of every month when the work was completed.... We have had a gardeners before for over 5 years. Joel replied, that he would need to be paid for the full month upfront. I said no business that is reputable pays for full services for a full month upfront. I do however, understand that some companies need to have materials paid for upfront, but you NEVER pay for services rendered until the job is completed. So I told him that we would not be hiring him and he hung up on my husband and I that was very rude...Then he texted back and said well I need money upfront to pay my guys... I don't care how you pay your guys, but you never pay in full until services have been rendered.... Joel was extremely immature and very rude and THAT is not how you deal with potential customers.... He should've said, "I'm sorry, but that is how I do business, but thank you so much for your interest in Orange roots and I wish you well on finding a new gardener" that is how you do business... Joel with Orange Roots Lawn Care has been doing my front and back yard for a few months now. He shows up when he says he will. His rates are definitely good and he does an amazing job. The reply to my review of this business by the owner is completely inaccurate. I did not walk around the job site after he finished hob as I have a mobility issue and couldn't get off the porch. It was not weeks later that I notified him but a couple of days later and he did come back to see what I was talking about and agreed to return to make it right..he talks a good game and my mistake was trusting he was a young man of his word, but obviously he still needs to learn that. Anything he saw regarding leaves or things he agreed to clean up was what he didn't clean up the first time which was a couple of days earlier. I even asked him if this looked like a job that his Mother would have been happy with if she had hired him for the same thing and he said he saw what I was talking about and would return to fix it. I hope that anyone doing business with him in the future gets all your expectations down in writing and don't pay him a penny upfront until you see that everything you requested is complete. That was my big mistake, I should have certainly not given him any money without someone that I knew doing a walk through, I have no excuse, I know better but for some reason my good sense momentarily left and I was left with shoddy workmanship and $250.00 less to my name The saying "BUYER BEWARE" is oh so true.. read more

I never do reviews. You can check. This was not a good experience for us. Joel was rude and bordered on harassment through text when he did not complete the job as agreed. He gives discounts for good reviews so I guess that is why he has so many. I am actually a bit worried to do this negative review that he might retaliate against my home but feel it is important that anyone who hires him knows what they are getting. If you are looking for someone to just mow a lawn and edge, than he is fine. We had a big job and he under bid it and did not compete all the work and argued back and forth through text about it. I am sure he will respond to this review to say all of this is not true. Yelp did not send them all the information I typed in, but they were able to do most of what I requested on the day of service. Company had reply issues due to phone service. Once they got to my place, the service was A+. Also, they came out on a holiday and I am super grateful for that. Out of 3 estimates Orange Roots had the best pricing. Joel was very responsive and polite. He did a great job with the yard work that was needed at my home. After contacting him, he made it to my home the next afternoon. He got there at around 4 pm, which worked out perfectly because I'm off from work at 5 pm, so I got home around the time that he was finishing up. He greeted me and we did a walkthrough of the work he had done and he was happy to cut down any additional trees/bushes that I didn't want. He hauled all of the yard waste, including the weeds, branches, and bushes that he cut down. He quoted me $250, which was fair, given all the work that was needed, since I hadn't had my yard done in months. I would highly recommend Joel for your garden or yard.
