While the catering was outstanding--the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive, offering a variety of authentic Mexican dishes--the bartending experience left much to be desired. The bartenders came across as standoffish and unwelcoming, which discouraged many guests, including myself, from returning for another drink. The coordinator seemed a bit overwhelmed but was clearly making an effort to keep things on track and honor the wedding traditions. Overall, this is a nice venue with great potential. I work for a non profit and had decided to host our staff Christmas party at the Ebell center. We…read morehad a limited budget and were stretching it to have here. Our coordinator Majalla was a sweetheart. Unfortunately the day before the event they called to say they had forgotten to add tablecloths to the contract and we were responsible for paying an additional $700 if we wanted to have our event the next day. I requested to not use the table cloths as we were already over budget for the event. I was told that was not an option as they had already taken delivery of them. Then I was told they would comp our drink station to try to meet us part way. Then I get an email from the Angie the director who changed the contract and lied about the drink cost trying to make it seem like she reduced the price, when the price had already been reduced in the original contract. The food was subpar, many complaints from our staff about the quality of the food. It's extremely shady business ethics they have and I would warn anyone from doing business with them! If you are already scheduled, save original copies of the contract as they will try and bait/switch you, then lie about it. Very disappointed overall.
