it's been six months since i had my wisdom teeth removed here by dr. jelmini, and I can confidently…read moresay that my experience was wonderful. the healing was smooth with no complications, and I was back to eating pre-surgery within weeks. if you're reading this, you may also be like me and have the largest amount of anxiety thinking about needing surgery. honestly, my dentist when I was in my teens casually mentioned you probably want to get your wisdom teeth removed at some point, but one came in fully and they never were a bother so it was one of those things you can file away and forget about. until you can't. in my late 20s now, I suddenly had gum pain near one of my wisdom teeth. dentist took one look and explained the tooth was rubbing against the gum trying to grow in and will keep this irritation cycle going -- the solution long term is removal. yikes! I spent a lot of time scouring the inter webs trying to find a trustable oral surgeon and my search led me to Three Rivers. I had originally planned on getting a second opinion, but honestly, there was no need. the first appointment was a consult. I had a pano X-ray taken and then dr. jelmini went over the X-ray, agreeing that I should remove them. he patiently answered my antsy questions, reassuring me with honesty about what to expect. we talked about anesthesia options, and me being the antsy person I am, decided upon IV sedation. I was curious about PRF because I'm quite the science nerd and had been reading about this optional add-on, and dr. jelmini was more than happy to honor my request. a few days before the big day, prescriptions for helping with pain and nausea were sent over to the pharmacy. the big day came and I was SO nervous! the thought of going under! the whole process was so smooth. I checked in, took care of payment and then waited a couple minutes before being called back. Lindsay was so patient noticing my stress. honestly, everyone here was so calm and professional and it really helped calm my nerves. before I knew it, the IV was in, dr. jelmini asked how I was doing, and--- I was out! seriously, when you hear people say propofol is like a nap, they aren't kidding. I honestly have no recollection of the moment I was given propofol and it felt like a minute later and I was waking up. very groggy. the whole procedure must have been what 45 minutes tops? plan on getting lots of rest. I was so pleasantly surprised to see dr. jelmini call later in the day to make sure I was doing okay. make sure you follow the post-op advice for a smooth recovery! every day got better exponentially, and within a few days I was feeling more like myself. it just takes a bit of time to get used to the modified diet for a few weeks. I'm so glad I'm on the other side of wisdom teeth surgery, but if I could, I'd tell my younger self that it'll be okay and you're in good hands with the professional and kind staff at Three Rivers. Dr. Jelmini had excellent bedside manners, understands the anxiousness and knows what he's doing. I really appreciate how all the doctors here are up to date on the latest science, presenting regularly at conferences. Thank you, Three Rivers! I sincerely hope I never need oral surgery ever again, but thank you for advancing the field with kindness!

This is the second time I've been here for surgery. The first time Dr. Brandon Rehrer removed my…read morewisdom teeth and he did such a good job I didn't need to take any pain medication besides ibuprofen. I can't recommend him enough for wisdom teeth. So when my general dentist said I needed an implant, he was the only surgeon I felt comfortable seeing. Today is the day after surgery. I had no pain yesterday, only taking ibuprofen. I have no pain today. I used ice and ibuprofen for both surgeries. The only thing that was a pain was the bleeding, you do have to bite down on gauze to get it to stop. Which is actually nice because I believe ibuprofen is a blood thinner, and that's why you bleed a little longer, but you are trading that for no pain!! So I was and am definitely willing to trade. Of course its not bleeding today and I am perfectly fine. :-) I also want to mention that the anesthesiologist's assistant was so nice. I was very nervous and I don't remember her name, but she was great. She even tried to distract me because I do get scared :-) When I run my tongue over the implant it is completely flat, and feels similar to the way it felt before when there was no tooth there. I am kind of amazed. (My general dentist will put the cap/tooth on the implant later.) I can't recommend this doctor enough, he does these surgeries every day. They give you the paperwork the same day you talk to the doctor, so you are not "well-read" enough at that point to ask the appropriate questions, so I suggest you read through the material when you get home and call the office with any questions. While this is a routine and simple surgery for him, it's probably not one for you. In my experience, if you give him a chance he will do an excellent job. Thank you Dr. Rehrer!

Dr. Geisler and her team operate with the highest level of care, professionalism, and…read moreconsideration. I had an impacted wisdom tooth that had been causing discomfort for a long time. I was attempting to wait it out and avoid dealing with it until I had dental insurance again, but I could feel the problem worsening to the point it became too hard to ignore, so I decided to bite the bullet and find a surgeon despite my lack of insurance . After initially scheduling an appointment at the dental school in an attempt to save my pocketbook, then getting nervous due to some alarming reviews and cancelling that appointment.. I decided that it would be worth it in the end to throw it on the credit card and do some research and choose my own surgeon for the job. Yelp did not lead me astray. I was impressed by Dr. G's education, experience, as well as her generous aid work with underserved populations. At my initial consultation with Dr. Geisler, my anxieties were almost immediately put to rest. She exudes positive energy and It doesn't take long to see that she is a healer who is in the profession for benevolent reasons. I appreciate how conversational and respectful her approach is. She doesn't just examine you to then tell you what will be done with you. She will ask questions to make sure she has the full picture of your history, situation, and concerns in order to tailor a plan that works best for your unique situation. She did not blindly write a script for the medications she thought I should have.. but took the time to talk to me about each one in order to make sure that I understood the benefits and risks of each of the options. She asked for my input and consent for each and ensured that I felt that I was in the driver's seat of my care, which is something that I believe really should be more common in health care. All fees are informed ahead of time so there are no surprises when the bill is presented. I left her office following the consultation with complete trust that I would be in good hands. The morning of my surgery went smoothly. The staff were all prompt and kind and made me feel like a VIP. I elected to stay awake during the procedure. The sounds of the saw were the most unnerving part, but I felt no pain during the procedure and Dr. Geisler explained what was happening the entire time. I requested to keep my tooth and my request was honored. She checked in frequently to make sure I was tolerating everything alright. The covid precautions in place are better than standard with proper PPE seen donned by staff at all times, sanitizing taking place, and a special air filtering device in the procedure area. Following the procedure, I was given a goodie bag with some healing aids and briefed throughly on what I should do for after-care. I received a call from Dr. G the same evening to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. I was somewhat concerned that the small amount (comparatively to what has been prescribed following surgical procedures in the past) of prescription pain medication might not be enough to to last as long as I needed it to for adequate pain relief. However, with the opioid epidemic, I understand why practitioners are being conservative in dosages and encouraging patients to use the lowest dose for the least amount of time possible. Overall I am healing well. The surgical site looks great and I feel great relief to have a problem that has been plaguing me for a decade finally taken care of. I would definitely choose Dr. Geisler again should I need the care of an oral surgeon again and will be recommending her practice to friends, family, and I'm sure a few strangers too. Solid work, Dr. Geisler and staff. Thankyou again.

I will say the office staff is polite when talking to them on the phone.
