This was mid-May, and daily temps were up into the 90's . So, I reached out to IV Air and asked if they could come out and troubleshoot. Eric and Alex came out quickly within an hour or so and got to it. That led to the call you don't want to get, that the unit was in trouble and more specifically that it would need a new compressor. I had kinda been thinking was going to happen at some point soon due to the unit's age. Sure, I could have spent $1500 on a new compressor and had it working, but probably not for long. Eric recommended that due to refrigerant change and unit age to consider replacing the unit itself, it would be a much smarter long term investment and would likely reduce my power bill by installing a more efficient unit. Well, we did decide to move forward with that luckily equipment was available so these guys went and picked it up. I gotta say that the process was handled so professionally and was done so quickly that when I arrived back home everything had been completed. AC was on and running and the house was cool, the kids (and us) were happy! Remember, as I mentioned before, I was out of town the entire time this happened....so it was a real blessing to know that there are still guys that run companies out there such as these two who take care of business and are trustworthy, skilled, competent and easy to work with. One downside of how great Mike and Marcus and his crew is is that they are so loved, when the summer comes, they have to work 20 hours a day to keep everyone safe, cool, and happy. Because I have contractual obligations to my client and could not obtain a clear timeline for the project, I decided to cancel the work and hire another contractor. After I canceled, I was informed that I would be charged an additional $380 for a second visit and a cancellation fee. These charges were never disclosed to me beforehand, and I was not provided with any written agreement explaining cancellation fees or additional service charges beyond the original visit fee. My experience was frustrating because of the lack of communication, the absence of a clear project schedule, and the unexpected charges that appeared only after I decided to cancel. I encourage future customers to obtain all terms, timelines, and cancellation policies in writing before making a deposit.
