I arrived to my scheduled CPR renewal class early, only to find no one there. Moments later,…read moreCheryl Ward (the owner/instructor) called me and said she was running 5 minutes late. Then about 20 minutes after that, she called again saying she is "just up the road" and would be there shortly. Finally she arrived to class about half an hour after start time, and the first thing that she told me was "let's hurry and get you done." She then asked for my pre-test, and I said what pre-test. She went on to say that this was only a Skills Pass Off class. Never in previous communications, whether via email or phone, did she mention the requirement for a pre-test even though I clearly stated on the phone that I was scheduling for a renewal, rather than a new certification. I then told her that I was not aware of this pre-test and asked if there was anything she could do to help me, especially since I drove an hour, and arrived on time, just to get to her class. She replied, "No.. sorry." So I ended up leaving without completing the scheduled class, and having my job in jeopardy since i was not able to renew my certification.

I went to EMT Utah for my Basic EMT and it was probably the worst education I have ever received…read more Instructors were inattentive, lacked communication, and disorganized. While taking the course there were two days when instructors did not even show up to the class. And when they did, they often did not know what they needed to go over that day because there were so many different instructors and they would not communicate with each other. It took 3 attempts to pass the NREMT as I felt like the education was lacking and I had to teach myself everything in the textbook after class was over. Of those I have talked to from class, only about half of them say they were capable of passing the NREMT, showing a huge flaw in the education received from EMT Utah.

The instructors are amazing and really hold you to a higher standard, meaning that they are providing you with more knowledge and education that most other institutions would ever consider, which overall prepares you better for the national exam. I paid Utah EMT Academy for EMT training expecting a clear path to Utah licensure. After completing…read morethe course and passing the required exam(s), I was later informed that my licensure approval was delayed due to issues with the program and that I would need to complete additional in-person psychomotor training hours at another approved training center--at extra time and cost. When I asked for updates and requested a refund, I did not receive one. After disputing the charges through my bank, I received threatening emails demanding payment and referencing potential legal action and reports to credentialing/licensing bodies. I'm sharing this so prospective students ask very specific questions up front about Utah authorization/compliance, psychomotor requirements, and the refund policy in situations where students can't move forward as expected. I can't recommend this program based on my experience.
