Then about 20 minutes after that, she called again saying she is "just up the road" and would be there shortly. Finally she arrived to class about half an hour after start time, and the first thing that she told me was "let's hurry and get you done." She then asked for my pre-test, and I said what pre-test. She went on to say that this was only a Skills Pass Off class. Never in previous communications, whether via email or phone, did she mention the requirement for a pre-test even though I clearly stated on the phone that I was scheduling for a renewal, rather than a new certification. I then told her that I was not aware of this pre-test and asked if there was anything she could do to help me, especially since I drove an hour, and arrived on time, just to get to her class. She replied, "No.. sorry." So I ended up leaving without completing the scheduled class, and having my job in jeopardy since i was not able to renew my certification.

The instructors were informative and patient- (special shout out to Shay the MVP for always being present and setting up first thing in the am/ helping us avoid any bad habits from the day prior). The students were friendly and helpful- we became a little crew lol. Often you would work together with another classmate to get your pre-trip/ backing dialed in. Going out on the road was great- real time experience away from a parking lot! Going up and down Parley's canyon was the highlight of my road experience- lots going on and so many other drivers to maneuver around. I better understood the importance of speed/ brake management. For the overall time I spent in this class I would say it was worth the value of the class. I learned a lot and as a bonus I made new friends that I will likely keep in touch with for years to come! The founder is one of the most ignorant people I have ever encountered. She initially comes across as sweet and down-to-earth, but once you sign the contract, I felt like I was treated more like a check than a student. Throughout my time at Summit Dental Academy, I felt there was very little understanding or flexibility when unexpected or abnormal circumstances came up. The program also lacked structure, and much of the material felt outdated. The hands-on training felt rushed which made it difficult to actually retain and feel confident in what we were learning. On top of that, the reading material contained so many grammatical errors that it was difficult to get through a page without noticing multiple mistakes. If you genuinely care about your education and academic success, I strongly recommend researching other programs before committing to this one. As someone who takes a lot of pride in my work and education, my experience with this program caused me an immense amount of frustration. Read the contract completely before signing. There are additional fees that I personally found unreasonable, including a $20 fee on top of tuition for what felt and looked like an Amazon graduation cap and Dollar Tree frames for our certificates. These are the kinds of details that left me feeling like the program was more focused on collecting money than creating a positive educational experience. I also think it is important to look closely at the reviews before making your decision. Notice how many of the positive reviews are always posted around the same time. Students receive EXTRA CREDIT FOR LEAVING REVIEWS it does not have to be a good review but I still think that is important context when looking at the reviews. Could you imagine trying to leave a completely honest review when your certificate is still at risk? Even if students are technically allowed to be honest, there is an obvious pressure that comes with knowing the person you are reviewing has control over something that important to your future. I would encourage anyone considering this program to look beyond the reviews and speak with current or former students if possible. I also want to acknowledge our instructor, Mandy. She was amazing and did the best work with the material she was given. That being said, she was given very little guidance or support while being expected to instruct the class. We witnessed her being disrespected in front of us and being blamed for issues that, in my opinion, were beyond her control. Seeing the way she and even the founder's husband were treated was extremely uncomfortable and gave me the impression that the founder did not value the people working for her. Overall, I regret choosing this program. I went into dental assisting school wanting to learn, grow, and build a foundation for my career. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and honestly disrespected. Do your research, read every part of the contract, ask questions about additional fees, and seriously consider your other options before committing to Summit Dental Academy

Internexus is not a hard school as far as language institutes are concerned, and they don't seem to be too strict on their attendance policy (I know students who passed with only showing up the first couple days a session, and missing class til the final). Students who buckle down and take school seriously will be successful here, but if you don't take classes seriously, you will not be successful at Internexus, because they don't really hold students accountable. I will say this though-they are very helpful for students seeking help. My boyfriend was in a situation a while back where he was finishing his English language courses at the U, and when he told them he was going to transfer to SLCC to start his academic courses, ELI at the U cancelled his i-20, and it was in the middle of the semester. He panicked, and we found ourselves going to Internexus because we knew they had monthly sessions, and were hopeful we could get him in for the next month. In less than 48 hours, they had accepted him, got his info from the U and SLCC, and processed a new i-20 so that he could buy time and not go home for the remainder of the semester. Sabrina, who works at the front desk, is extremely helpful and patient with the students, and does all she can to make their time at Internexus a pleasant experience.
