I found Dr. Sink through my insurance's list of in-network providers that were currently accepting new patients. I called the office looking forward to setting up a PCP finally. I was caught off guard by how short and rude the staff member was that answered the phone. She spoke down to me and informed me Dr. Sink has not been accepting new patients for quite some time - as if I were somehow supposed to be aware of this. I apologized (not sure why) and explained that my insurance still listed her as accepting new patients. Then a few tense moments of awkward silence and she begrudgingly offered to set me up with another physician within the practice. I could tell she was irritate when I asked to confirm the address and throughout the whole interaction she made it very clear I was an inconvenience to her. I actually got on Yelp! this morning to look up their phone number to reschedule due to some work stuff that came up and ended up reading all of their reviews. It appears my experience is not unique. I have worked as a front desk staff at a local hospital for a few years now and understand the importance of making that good first impression with patients in person or over the phone. This practice does not seem to value that level of customer service. I look forward to the no-show fee and credit card processing fee. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I know my body so it was no problem just talking and getting a prescription. The nurse practitioner, Marsha Evans took care of me last time. Stupid is too smart for this woman. She performed an unnecessary exam humiliating me for no reason. When I explained to her how to make the correct differential diagnosis without waiting for lab results, the simple logic completely escaped her. Add to that an attitude of racist power abuses and you'll see Optum is a for profit medical group designed to unnecessarily test poor people. I had to make a big scene to her medicine for the discomfort because stupid Marsha wanted to feel like she owned me instead of trying to heal me. With lousy cold hearted horrible medical professionals like Marsha, the huge new headquarters in Nevada May be pushing up the daisys as they perform unnecessary tests to boost their invoices to profit from poverty. Dentists do it all the time with exposing patients to radiation from unnecessary X-rays. After I complained about Marsha Evans for her sadistic pleasure in making me beg for the correct medicines and her obvious low level of intelligence, Dr. Bressler sent me a scary looking certified letter informing me that he and his institution won't be serving me anymore. I was seen in the office 9 days ago for a horrendous cough and serious breathing problems. At the visit I was told to take prednisone a certain way. The dispensing was incorrect. I was told I would get a chest xray order which was not given to me. Then at the end of the visit I was told she couldn't even see me anymore because she's administrative. Why was I not scheduled with someone that could actually take care of me then?! I called 3 days ago because I am still no better and need help! I didn't get a call back until today. I was asked to get the chest xray done which I am totally willing to do. I asked the order to be sent to SMIL. They can't even do that right! They faxed it to SimonMed. Sad fact is I am a nurse and I used to work with this woman. There used to be proper patient care but this whole facility has made my experience with Optum AWFUL!!! I used to really like this doc but would not recommend anyone going here now. Here is what happened on my visit on Monday: "What's Gleevac?" I tell her it is chemo. "Why are you on chemo?" for the leukemia, I answer. "You have leukemia? is it a new diagnosis, there isn't any record of it in your chart." Um, no. I have been in 3or 4 times since I was diagnosed a few years ago. I was just in right before my surgery in November. "You had surgery? We have no record of that either." You guys did the EKG that I needed before the surgery. "We did?" *bangs head repeatedly on wall* I swear the staff works on commission too. You call to get a recommendation for another doc and they make you come in, my EKG I needed for my surgery- they wanted to make me come back in for another appt to send the results to the surgeon, even though they said it was fine when i had it done. They called after the surgery (after the hospital notified them I was in) and said I HAVE to (yes, in just that tone) come in for a follow up with them. I told them no, I would follow up with the doc who did the surgery. What a shame, because Dr Sink was really good. read more

When the office contacted me to remind me of the appointment, they asked for my ex-husband. I told them the appointment was for me. The next day they called again asking for my ex-husband because my insurance couldn't be verified (because I have different insurance than my husband). Again, I told them the appointment was for me. When I went in for my appointment, they stood in front of me holding my ex-husband's file saying my insurance can't be verified. Now a 3rd time, I reminded them I wasn't my ex-husband. They called me up to fill out paperwork ten minutes later with my husband's name on the paperwork!!!! Can we say HIPAA violation? They asked me for a copayment twice before realizing that my insurance doesn't require a co-payment for a physical. Why do I have to educate insurance verification staff? After I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to see Dr. Sink, she rudely interrupted me as I was describing my symptoms and said if I wanted to talk about health issues, I needed to make another appointment and pay a copay, this visit was for a physical only. I offered to pay the co-payment so I wouldn't have to wait such a long time. She said my appointment time has already been booked as soon as the office realized I was a physical only patient. She then went on to give me a lab form for blood work with my maiden name on the form. I had a name change 4 years ago and have been to that office since the change. I've been a patient here for over a year and they still don't care if you're sick. They shove medication and lab work down your throat. I would give less than one star if I could. This place has Dr. Tara Ostrom who when I went for a physical she refused to give me my annual mammogram. I was 48yrs old at the time, have excellent medical insurance and I told her I would go somewhere else. She said that I didn't need an annual exam until age 50! She reluctantly gave me my mammo slip and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer! When I spoke with her to obtain my medical records prior to my lumpectomy I told her that at some point someone would listen to her because she's the dr and that she and I know she could have killed me. She said it was the "Govt guidelines" that made her not want to give me my mammo since I wasn't 50. Seriously? I went to the Mayo and spoke with someone from the American Cancer Society and asked them if the age group has changed when you should begin having your annual mammograms and they said no, that it's still suggested annually at age 40, sooner if you have a family history. I would not return to Tara Ostrom (she's hardly a Dr.) for a throat culture!! I have never returned to that awful office! She refused to give me my breast exam or my pap. STAY AWAY!!! Where to start... I had an appointment with Danielle Sink, looking for a new primary care provider. I showed up to the office(which is poorly marked) before my appointment time(showed up to office approx 4:20, appointment was at 4:30). The first thing that I noticed upon walking into the office is there was quite a few people in the waiting room and the atmosphere was extremely tense. This was my first warning sign, but I decided to see how it would go. I started filling out forms at which point the provider asked for a $2 service charge for using a credit card... This was my second warning sign and this is the first place I have ever been that charged this fee(which is against the Visa merchant agreement for processing credit cards). About 5 minutes into the wait, a patient with a different doctor asked the nurse who was bringing another patient back how long it would be(they appeared to have been waiting for a while) and was rudely told by the nurse that she worked with a different doctor and had no idea how long the wait would be, with no offer to find out how long it would be or any assistance of any kind(this was at approximately 4:35). Then, after waiting about 15 minutes, another patient with the same doctor I was visiting went to the front and told them that they had been waiting for approximately 45 minutes and was wondering how long the wait would be, the office said that it would only be another 15 minutes(this was at around 4:40). I waited until about 4:55 until I decided that I wanted to get an accurate time on how long the wait was(again, the appointment was at 4:30 and I had scheduled dinner with my father at 6:00pm) and was told by the receptionist that it would be at least 30 more minutes. At this point I decided that I was going to leave and that I wasn't comfortable with the way the patients were treated. I asked respectfully that they credit my card the $17 for the copay and that I would find a different provider. This point they said that they could see me immediately and I responded that I wasn't comfortable with using this doctors office. At this point they became very rude with me and said they could not refund the copay and that if I were to leave they would charge me a missed appointment. I asked to speak with the office manager at which point I was told that I couldn't since she was busy. I was asked to leave a note and I detailed that I wanted a refund on my copay and they were *NOT* to charge my insurance company for any services, since none were rendered and that if they tried to bill me for a missed appointment that I would take appropriate action. I received a call about 1 hour after my appointment which was calling to see if I had left and if so I was going to miss my appointment. I looked at my credit card statement and they haven't issued a refund nearly 4 business days later. This is my personal experiences with this doctors office and needless to say I will never be visiting them again. Should be interesting if they try to bill me for a missed appointment or try to charge my insurance company(which would be fraud). EDIT 7/23/13: They have now charged me for a missed visit fee, deducting the copay that they collected and refused to refund(which means I was physically present). Amazing business... My wife came in to discuss migraines, a lump in her breast, and to look for help losing weight. We drove 2 hours to get there and specifically requested a longer appointment because there were several issues and we live in a remote town. NP Marsha Evans did nothing but lecture her on eating too much, and she already considers eating poorly eating 1200 to 1500 calories per day. She has PCOS and other issues which cause weight loss to be horribly difficult, but she would hear none of this. Her basic answer was "well, if you have to eat 700 calories a day than that is what you have to do." Even though every other doctor we have ever seen and all the research we have ever seen has said that a starvation diet like that should be done only under strict supervision and with supplements and a specific plan. We came there to GET A PLAN AND SUPERVISION! What we got was a lecture and shoved out of the office! Even worse, she literally used Nazi concentration camp victims and Ethiopians as an example of how eating less works to lose weight, period. No kidding, what we were looking for was a HEALTHY plan, not the Nazi diet. Want to talk about the lump in her breast? Sorry, you need another appointment, day off work, and two hour drive for that. Want to talk about debilitating migraines? Sorry, that requires yet another appointment. Want to be berated and talked down to again and given a one-size-fits-all boilerplate answer that makes you feel like doctors just do not listen or care? Absolutely! Please see the front desk to schedule your next humiliation. NP Marsha Evans is the definition of a bad health care provider, with her ears shut, her mouth open, her mind made up before getting even a small portion of the information, and a time-table that is more important than the health of her patients. Looking at other reviews, and with our own experience, it is clear that they are trying to make up for falling profits by nickel and diming patients to death and providing no customer service. Horrible experience!! First time there today and it will be my last, for sure. I work in the medical field and specifically at a doctor's office and I KNOW how to treat patients... its all about customer service in this industry now - unfortunately this clinic did not get the memo. First, we walk through the door and this man who is obviously handicapped is trying to sign in. It takes him a good amount of time to write his name down and when he finally finishes the girl at check-in tells him he signed in at the wrong counter and that blood work is across the room and he has to sign again. FIRST OF ALL: poor customer service! She receptionist should have greeted him when he walked in and asked him why he was there so she could have pointed him in the right direction BEFORE waiting all this time for him to sign in, poor guy. The two girls at check-in were hispanic and spoke Spanish to each other. Very rude when you have a patient standing at your window. Then we had to wait 30 minutes to be called back by a medical assistant (???) I don't even know what her title or name because she never introduced herself, she was wearing wrinkled scrubs that didn't match... did not communicate with us, did not greet us or ask why we were there. Then was rude about the paper work we filled out prior. We had to wait for AN HOUR in the room without anyone telling us how much longer it would be... only to be disappointed later!!! The best part is yet to come... Dr. Danielle Sink finally shows up - she did more writing than interacting with us. My mom explained she's not feeling well - in lots of pain; and Dr. Sink didn't even look concerned. Didn't even do a proper head to toe assessment - she left the room without saying goodbye or that telling us what to do next??? The medical assistant comes back asks us if we need instructions printed in a different language?? Hello - we speak english! Then hands us this paper with instructions to come back in two weeks for a follow up... follow up to what??? Dr. Sink didn't go over any instructions or explain what to do about this pain. Then the MA said goodbye and we were lost - had to ask for how to get out of the office. Very awful, rude environment. They take people's money and give horrible treatment. I have visited Dr Sink twice, in February 2018 and March 2019. Both times her nurse was extremely hard to talk to, understand and communicates with. This last time I saw Dr Sink,March 2018, I was her last patient and she did not have time to talk to me or treat me properly for my asthma. Now over 2 years later I am getting a bill for my first visit with her. So apparently their Billings department is not good either. read more

Often they will only give you a months worth and demand you follow up with another appointment, even for maintenance drugs. Multiple times they have tried to overcharge me for my copay. Have had two of my PCPs quit the office without a heads up, so I keep changing onsite doctors. Sometimes hard to get Dr note for work. Lab next door closed down so now 1 tech runs a humble lab onsite. Long wait times but that is not uncommon, in my experience. read more

Ive been here a few times and I keep giving them chances because the location is super convenient and the nurse I saw, Donna, was fantastic, and Dr Sink was OK. However, the front office is ridiculously rude and unapologetically incompetent. My first visit, they kept me waiting in the exam room for 75 minutes after my appointment time before someone came in and took my vitals, and another 15 minutes before the doctor came in. After I switched insurance, I made a specific trip there to give them my new card so things would go smoothly, then got a bill from them and had to go back and explain that they billed the old insurance. I work in medicine & know shit happens, so I went in there not really bothered, but when I walked to the front desk and said hi, the receptionist made an annoyed face and kept typing for another 10 seconds before asking what I needed. I was furious at that point and asked to speak to the office manager, and she just slapped a piece of paper on the counter and said I needed to write my complaint down (I'm guessing from that, they're used to complaints). When I ignored the form and explained my bill, she said they had billed my insurance right, and then someone who was likely the manager materialized, apologized, and said they would rebill my new insurance. Last visit, I told the receptionist I had an appointment to get to & could I just get in and get my prescription really quick? She shrugged in a bored way and said she didn't know how long it would take. When 25 minutes past my appointment went by and I was thinking of leaving, the nurse came up and said she thought I had no-showed and she happened to find my file. Front office clearly can't communicate and no one is holding them to doing their job competently. The nurse was great and got my prescription as fast as she could, but there is absolutely no reason for her to sweat and stress because someone else can't do their job right. The only reason at all they get one more chance is because it's super close to me and the nurse had a fantastic attitude. It's a hassle to find someplace else, but if you're looking for a doctor, I'd suggest passing these guys up. EDIT- LOL I didn't read other reviews first because I didn't want them to bias me. Looks like I dodged a bullet since I only went in for my usual Rx, not actual medical advice. If I could give less than one star, I would. I am an MD myself, and I have never seen such poor care from start to finish. I went to the appointment with my father and although we arrived on time, we waited for 2 hours The doctor, Dr. Sink, was not familiar with my father, his care, or the consultants care. When I asked her about his lung nodule and what they were going to do next, She asked him "what did the pulmonary doctor tell you", since she did not know or remember that he even had a lung nodule. She did not know his medications or the dose and had to leave the room to look it up on the pharmacy web site. She also missed the tear in his knee. We filled out a request that for his medical records and paid. We were told it would be 6-8 weeks. We never received them. Called today and they say no record of of the request. I am not surprised since they are the most disorganized doctors office I have ever seen. Charts are everywhere, the office is filthy and they are grossly understaffed. There are so many things wrong with this office, 1st the front office staff and Medical assistants looked miserable and never once greeted me. 2nd I saw a NP and explained that I needed my asthma medication refilled. I also asked her about some hyper-pigmentation on my face that has really started to bother me, I read in several places that hydroquinone cream is a first line treatment for darkening of this skin. The NP kept going back and forth talking to the doctor for about an hour, when I started to question her she said she was a NP in training and that her supervising physician does not want her to prescribe this face cream for me(you would have though I was requesting pain meds from the way she was treating me). this medication. Oh and instead of giving me my normal asthma RX that i always get they decided to change it to QVAR which turned out to be A LOT more expensive and I couldnt even fill the prescription so to sum in up, I waited forever, never got greeted, and left empty handed with no good explanation as to why read more

My experience here was absolutely ludicrous. They had no idea what my appointment was scheduled for and were incredibly unprofessional and rude the entire time. My insurance company called them to verify everything but were also spoken to very rudely. My insurance company actually cancelled the appointment so I could just walk out and they will file a complaint and reschedule me elsewhere. I HIGHLY recommend utilizing another establishment at all costs. If they feel it is okay to treat patients this way then there is no way that you should trust the work they are being paid to do for you. There is clearly no pride or integrity here. I went to Dr. Christopher Dressler because of a referral from a close friend. I needed a follow up appointment from a previous hospital stay and also wanted to establish a doctor in this area. I expected to be rushed through, but was pleasantly surprised! Dr. Dressler was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and very kind and patient. I made the right choice! Then to top it off I had some blood drawn from Alan who has a great, humorous personality and was also very knowledgeable in questions that I had. This is my new Clinic and I would recommend them to anyone! You will feel comfortable with both of them. read more

My Company secured the referral services of Best Doctors to insure that our employees connect with the very best doctors in town. After moving to the Phoenix area, I leveraged this service while looking for my primary physician. Acacia Internal Medicine (Dr. Tara) was top of list. Much to my surprise, the Yelp reviews were less than flattering and I almost went somewhere else as a result. So glad I trusted the service as opposed to these reviews. After visit #4 (very positive experience each time), I can say with confidence that these negative reviews are ridiculous in nature and come from vindictive individuals that simply may derive pleasure with their slander (seriously, get a hobby). I've been going here for 5 years thru 3 different insurance providers and I've never experienced the problems discussed here. I see Dr. Sink. She's the best pcp I've been seen by. She's attentive and caring, answers all my questions, and explains everything about the treatments and lab results to me. There is a long wait sometimes, but I've never been to a medical office that didn't have long waits. I guess people who are happy with their service don't tend to write reviews. Also, it's nice to be able to get blood work done in the same place, same day they're ordered. The lab technician is nice and has a good sense of humor which helps me a lot with my needle/ blood anxiety. read more

You are better off going to the Phoenix VA Hospital. The staff have a combined IQ of 30. The routine is just like "The Money PIT" ..want an aswer...coem back in "Two weeks" Sure, come back and give us another copay and you get another diagnosis in ...you guesssed it "two weeks" at your next appointment. They are more interested in how much they can bill the insurance than they are about their patients. We are changing PCPs, this place is HORRIBLE. We always arrive 15 mins prior to our appointment time & are lucky if we get called in less than an hour after our appointment time to only get 5 mins with Dr Sink or a PA. Today's visit was the last straw, PA Donna spent 5 mins with my sister then sent in some nurse or aide that knew nothing & couldn't answer any of our questions. The doctors here are OK but the way that this facility is run makes it completely not worth it to waste your time here. No one at the front desk is eve able to help or knows what is going on. When you ask for help, they transfer you to a back line and you never get a response. I have requested to get a copy of my referrals from this facility for three months because they do not send them on their own (even though they tell you they will) and I still have not recorded them. There is always a long wait and they do not allow you to reschedule even if the wait is over an hour. I am personally a doctor and I would never think of making my patients wait as long as I have had to wait for multiple different services. It is unprofessional and disrespectful. read more

Do not use this doctor! I've been going to them for 10+ years and that has been a mistake. This office continues to nickel and dime you instead of taking interesting I your actual care. I put up with it because I've never actually had a major health problem, but I shouldn't have as it borders on malpractice. Their staff is rude, they are non responsive, they don't keep their promises, and their motvation is money versus your actual well being. I was referred to a specialist as my condition was beyond their expertise, but they demanded that I see them again to refill a prescription to get me through to the first available appointment with the specialist when I had seen them less than 30 days earlier. Specialist appointments are hard to come by and it feels like malpractice to demand that I be seen again for an extension of my prescription to get me through to my specialist appointment when you've clearly stated that you can no longer treat me for my condition as it is beyond your realm of expertise. Needless to say I am going without my heart medication until I can see the specialist as I refuse to pay $100 for them to give me a refill. Also, their voicemail says to please wait a week to be contacted about you lab results...I waited two weeks, no call and when I did call, yet again they demanded that I schedule an office visit with no explain when they already referred me to a specialist. I asked if I could speak with a physician and I was told "the doctors don't speak on the phone" and I was promptly hung up on. As a general comment, I've had to wait a minimum of an hour past my appointment time every time to actually be seen. Then they take my blood pressure and weight and it is another half hour plus to actually be seen by the doctor. If you choose to use this doctor, budget a lot of time for the appointment! I've been forced to take conference calls in their waiting room and treatment rooms due to their tardiness. If you truly value your health, do not use this physician! You are putting your life in jeopardy for the almighty buck. I will be writing them and the board a formal letter of my complaints so they are documented, but their negligence is a danger to all and you should be forewarned. read more

What makes doctors think that their time is any more valuable than my time??? 1 time I went asking for something for hot flashes and night sweats, she tried to give me antidepressants, 1 time I went for something for anxiety, and again she tried to give me antidepressants. Do yourself a favor and see another doctor. They are not worth your time. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but alas I still failed. After a couple years I gave up and was fortunate to locate my former doctor who had left my insurance group--which ended me up at Acacia. Now he has joined another practice who actually takes my insurance. YEAH!!! No more hour-plus waiting for me. My time is valuable, too. read more

Best doctor visit I ever had. Don't believe all the bad reviews... this is a very efficient office with excellent care.

I waited 1.5 hours for each of my 2 appts with Dr. Sink. She's a great doctor, but I don't like waiting. Saw PA Dunbar for a lingering cold-she was unprofessional & rude. Realized I was out of my thyroid med & called in for a refill-was told I must be seen before any refill is given but no appts w/Dr were available-only w/ rude PA. I explained I had appt with Dr. in 7 days & only needed 1 week refill-didn't matter. So I am switching to another Dr. (my husbands) who sees patients on time & has friendly customer service on the phone. read more

This organization tricks new patients into appointments just to bring in new patient paperwork then charges a redicious amount to your insurance co.Plus makes you pay a co-pay. My husband and I were to bring in paperwork as new patients, I chose to take them in to the office, thinking of dropping them off when I was ushered to give them to a person(not a Dr.). in the back.. They needed my husband to bring his in personally? My Husband did the next week, and as they did me, they ushered him to the back where they took his paperwork. Now mind you we both paid co-payments for this plus later our insurance co. was billed 318.00........For What?????? We were not sick! Also we have been getting billings for a so Called Missed appt fee of 25.00. for my husband for not coming with me the first time. Never once did they mention this fee when he came to turn his paperwork in . Not until after the fact and they took our co-pay plus billed our insurance Co. We never had an Appointment, Our understanding was to fill out the paper work and drop it off. No conf. calles were made to us before because they didn"t have any of our information. The billing department will not listen to any kind of reasoning and are very rude and unprofessional as is the whole staff.
