Let me tell you about my optum experience. 6 weeks ago I had a sports injury on a Saturday. Monday I went to the walk in clinic where they did an x-ray and general overview of my foot. Results come back negative for any broken bones, but it's really swollen and there could still be issues so I'm going to send you to the specialist for an MRI, deeper dive ect. Left the walk in with some questions answered at least. Few days later I arrive at my appt for the podiatrist at the gunderson building. Guy wiggles my toes around a little, feels around the area of my foot i said hurts, and he decides it's still pretty swollen let's see ya Ina month for a x ray... huh? I already had one. I leave some paperwork behind for work and left with more questions than answers. I call the next week to pick up the paperwork, it's not ready, they give me a day that it will be. Ended up taking almost two weeks to get the paperwork back to give to work for my work restrictions. Fast forward a month I show up for my "x ray" and I should have known things were not right when he walks in and says "you're not a new patient right?" And I say no, he goes I didn't think so.. guy wiggles my toes a little bit again, says it's still a little swollen/inflamed I'm gonna order an MRI... lol soonest I can get in for that is another month. So just bleeding me dry on co pays, and I still have zero answers about what the hell I did to my foot 6 weeks later. To top it all off I needed more paperwork filled out for work to extend my light duty, and by paperwork I mean one sheet of paper with some check boxes and a few things to fill in about what tasks I can and can't do, and for how long. What a nightmare this has become. So I guess be prepared to do all the leg work yourself. Feel bad for anyone answering the phones in the front that have to deal with all the blowback from this kinda thing. Do you know how frustrated you have to be to leave a yelp review for a podiatry office lol read more
