Have been coming to this location for approximately two years. My appointments were on time and the Optometrist was knowledgeable. There is a large selection of frames from economic to high end and many different options for lenses. They accepted my insurance with ease and always checked to make sure I was doing well when looking around at frames. The glasses I have worn have helped my vision to a key and have been correct for my needs. They were upfront about the costs and gave me several options in case it was too much. As for the other negative review. The "puff" test is done as a measurement to test your eyeball pressure reflex. It is not the end-all-be-all test but it is the starting test to see if you may or may not have glaucoma. If odd pressures are detected you are moved to other testing; more sophisticated testing. Overall: I have had a pleasant time at this facility and they have tended to my needs appropriately. I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of appropriate care. read more

I waited almost an hour for Reyna to take 2 minutes to get me my glasses. When I told her that the wait was unacceptable, she told me, "How is that my problem". It's almost laughable how people like her can get a job. There was no sense of urgency at all, no regard for guest satisfaction. There was at least 6 people waiting just to pickup glasses and she stepped out to take a 10 minute break 20 minutes before the store closed. I guess that was a priority, right? But it wasn't my problem that I had to wait so long for something that took 2 minutes. This is my second 1 star review in 4 years. I absolutely will not go back! read more

We have been going here for years! And now things have changed, they make you sign a no return form, then they claim to charge you the retina test if you want the results (when insurance covers it) they also don't have newer models, they charge more for oversized or no frame under lenses. These charges shouldn't be extra, they should be included in allowance. We are definitely going somewhere else. These types of things are bad for business. Sorry Optom eyes but you guys need help managing your business to keep customers and this is not the way to do it ! read more

Optom Eyes has been my eye doctors for many years but after my last appointment I will be changing. The doctor that saw me didn't even have me do the normal examination. He asked me if I like my contacts and I said yes but my near vision was getting more blurry. He had me put on a new pair with the same prescription and had me read something. Then said I was already at the highest strength in the contacts I was using and since I could read what he gave me I was good with that prescription. Very helpful unhappy that my insurance only pays for me to go every two years and feel this was a waste of that. read more

This location used to be great when it opened and was great for many years until recent experiences. Last couple visits were bad and my latest visit has made me decide to never go back. I was held at the waiting room for multiple hours just watching people that came after me get helped first and finish their appt while I still waited. My wife complained to front desk and the eye glass sales people and they all told her the Dr had been in a bad mood that day and was holding back patients that had insurances that made her do extra paper work. If that is true I believe that is not the patients fault and I should have not waited 1-2 hours to be seen. That is very unprofessional of her part and have caused the business to lose 3 patients. it was like herding cattle... and they hurry you from one thing to the next without giving you proper time to think and make decisions without being rushed. Was told that I had mites in my eyes and then told to just buy something at walmart and moved to the glasses section. I was rushed into making a glasses decision eventhough I have never worn glasses they made it seem weird that I didn't know what I was looking for. Bought a pair and then paid and was out and have to wait 3-4 WEEKS! I realized to late that its all a process to get you in and through to the glasses side for the purchase. I'll be calling to ask for a copy of my prescription and going to Costco for my optometry needs next time. Stay away! read more

Optom eyes was always a trusted source to go in the Imperial Valley for many years. The last visit recently has made me decide I am never going back. I scheduled my appointment a month in advance to be called two days before my appointment while at work stating my primary optometrist would not be available, and that I would need to be scheduled later in the day to been seen by somebody else. I stated I couldn't respond at the moment and that I would call back when finding a break during work. When calling I was answering back to the most annoyed staff member and she did not give me options about when I could reschedule the appointment or what the latest appointment was on that day only rushed me and kept talking over me saying "okay,okay,okay" she then proceeded to give me an appointment next day and told me that the was they only available one. I decided to take it and just go with it even though it was a working day for me and I decided to go. I show up and staff we're polite when receiving me, only when its time to pass into the pre-screening area where they take measurements for your eyes they started to argue about my check up in the lobby area complaining about it quite loudly, making a show, mainly complaining of having to ask any Dr. available to take my appointment. It was such a big issue for them to just go ask?! When I accommodated my time, my resources to go when I now live an hour and half away and get told my actual appointment was not available when I had booked a month in advance? When asking staff what the issue was, they proceeded to give me such nasty attitude when trying to discuss with and figure out what the ACTUAL issue was and it didn't make sense honestly. I decided to leave. They waste so much of your time there. Some people wait hours or others are given such nasty looks if they're not specific insurances I am never amazed at how unprofessional they keep treating new clients and old ones as well. Optom eyes has been lacking professionalism in staff for a couple years now, this was the cherry on top for me including other incidents that have occurred here before. If you want an actual professional experience I would muster the drive up to San Diego or even show up to Costco eye-wear then here. read more

1 If there were a 0 rating I would choose that one. I chatted with nice young man and picked up my distance vision glasses. Further conversation revealed this young man seemed competent and knew my husband's family so I decided to get a pair for reading as well. He asked if I wanted a different frame, etc and I asked if I needed a new test and he said no. I paid for the glasses and waited for the call that they were ready. Meanwhile my place was flooded in the storm that hit suddenly on Oct. 15. Water ran through my office and storage area obliterating my filing boxes and my receipts. I went to Optum Eye at the mall to see if my glasses were ready and they had no record of my order or the receipt of any funds. They took my money and Ivy said they would look into it. Been going here for years. I love it. Havent found a place like it now that I live in Phoenix , so i make the trip back to EC for it. they greet u as soon as u walk in. The exam is so fast, and best of all.. 9/10 times they have my glasses ready in 45 mins. Like how???? They are amazing. read more

Well this is part of my review, I will update at whatever date my second pair of the two pair of glasses I ordered comes in. I received the first pair a week after the latest date I was told they would both arrive. I have quite a story to tell but until my second pair of glasses arrive and are on my face, we shall continue to wait...... Let's see how long this BS takes! Today's date is 06-05-2019 The excuse I received to date is their outsourced lens lab is 100% to blame. Did I mention I was called once and told they were in, (both pair) and after driving from Brawley to the mall, neither pair were even there. After about 15 days I called to check in the glasses and was told both pairs were in and ready for pickup. Well I only received the one pair that day. The ones I have on now as a matter of fact. I switched to Optom-Eyes about three years ago and have been going back every single year. I LOVE the hours of operation! As a busy working mother... it is very difficult to get time off of work and I do not like disrupting my children's school schedule. Optom-Eyes scheduling has worked excellent for my family. The wait time is about an hour or so long but what DR's OFFICE has a short wait time? Even with an appointment? PLUS I do not feel "rushed" when I am with the doctor. They take the necessary time to explain my current eye health and answer any questions I may have in detail and make sure I understand everything. Their customer service is excellent as well. Everyone is always wearing a smile, they are courteous, knowledgeable, and very friendly.......... Their selection of glasses is AMAZING!! read more

It's ok until something goes wrong - and a lot went wrong. You can tell the salesreps are not really interested in helping when they won't be making a major sale. One salesrep just left us & never came back. I won't ever be going back to this place. I got prescription sunglasses. They were good so I got new lenses on my old clear glasses. Even though I made sure they included on the order roll & polish of the lenses they didn't do it. Had to return the glasses after clarifying it was ordered & paid for. Then the sunglasses frame leg came off when I took it out of the case. Then I noticed small cracks at the top of the clear glasses. The cracks continued to grow. I returned the glasses & got on the warranty (plus another $25 each) to fix the sunglasses frames & replace the clear glasses lenses. Decided it was a fluke & order spare clear glasses. Again they didn't do the roll & polish. The salesperson implied maybe it wasn't possible to get it done. They couldn't get the sunglasses frame fixed & had to pick out another frame. Another salesperson basiclly said it was my fault they fell apart. read more

As a matter of fact I have tried other places in the "valley." Your office is not the best. Other places offer just as good selections and way better experienced service . Why do you have to just do better than the valley why can't you step up your service and compare it to the current technology?Yes you might have great location but that's not what everyone will keep coming back for. Little by little your company will crumble just like your last office. You are not here for the people but for $$$. I have gone to two other eye doctors whom I liked, but their staff were snobs and not helpful at all so I decided to try Optom-Eyes Vision Care and I am glad I did. They staff is super nice and helpful, and I love the doctors. These doctors take time and tell you about your eyesight and how your eyes can tell about any health problems you may have now or in the future. And the staff is super helpful. My daughter is studying abroad in Spain and needed her prescription to get more contacts. I called and asked if they could email it to her and within 10 minutes, she had her prescription. I call that GREAT service! Plus, I feel their frames are much more reasonably priced then other offices. read more

I am displeased with this place due to the fact that they are over-priced and do not give very good customer service. I ordered new (replacement) lenses for my Prescription Sunglasses. They told me 2 weeks. At first they charged me nearly $190.00 for Single Vision (simple refraction) polarized plastic lenses. Then they called me and told me that they wouldn't put lenses in my frames because they had "solder joints", these are TITANIUM frames, cannot be SOLDERED, must be LASER WELDED. He told me he would call me back on Monday,the next week (no call come Monday). I finally called them, they said they had to send them to another lab. Then they call me back and hold them hostage by telling me that they decided that my lenses were "OVER-SIZED" and that I had to pay more for them. Finally after about a month (more than 2 weeks) they called to tell me my glasses were "ready" to be picked up. When I got to the store, they were not ready, they were smudged with finger prints, the lenses still had "lab markings" on them and they did not clean the frames. I have since checked, any place else, these lenses would have cost me a lot less than $100, not the OVER $200 this place likes to over charge due to their high over head. I will not return and surely won't recommend them to anyone. read more
