It first involved grafting bone to her jaw to hold the implants in place; a couple months later the implants were surgically inserted into her jaw. Bryan Mclelland performed the surgery. His nurse and assistants are pretty incredible as they assisted during the surgery. The implants fit perfectly and everything went great! My personal experience was equally as good. My dentist referred me to Bryan because it looked like I had a small crack in one of my teeth. He thought it should be pulled. After looking at the Xray Bryan suggested we watch it for six to twelve months and then determine if it needed to be pulled. It's refreshing to hear that I could just wait and see what happens, I might never need to have it pulled. I felt like Bryan really cares about his patients, its not all about the money! Dr. McLelland was the third oral surgeon I had gone to after meeting 2 doctors in CDA who I just wasn't feeling: I liked the doctor but not the front office and vice versa. With Liberty Oral Surgery, I loved both. Let's start with Dr. McLelland. In a word: fantastic! He has such a great bedside manner and inspired confidence that put me at ease instantly. I was extremely apprehensive about having a tooth pulled and an implant installed but he put all my fears to rest. He listened to my concerns and clearly explained my care plan. He's also just a super nice guy who takes pride in what he does. The day of my both surgeries, I was greeted by his fabulous staff who were efficient and friendly and put me at ease: Briget, Denise, Megan, & Katie. Dr. McLelland explained my post-op instructions for successful results and they have been! He also called after each surgery to check on me. Who even does that anymore?! At my follow-up appointments, I had the pleasure of meeting Cliff & Staci, who both went out of their way to put me at ease about my progress. His front office is also awesome. Terri, the Finance Manager, was approachable and walked me through a cost breakdown. She clearly explained where my benefits would apply and was timely in terms of submitting my claim. I was recommended by my dentist, Dr. Wilson of Sodorff & Wilson, for my gum grafting. From the moment I interacted with the receptionist and all through my initial appointment, it was very apparent to me that everyone here is both personable and opinionated. That can make one feel both uncomfortable as well as more connected and aware. So it's a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. If you like the customer service facade of many medical practices then this may not enjoy your experience here. Dr. Nygaard and her assistant are both very experienced and very opinionated women and they don't hold back on bringing up their critique on your health, even in areas you didn't come in to talk about. I will disclaim that while this may have been a bit more stimulating emotionally then I bargained for, it ultimately is not something I dislike; I appreciate that the medical world is in flux and filled with new research and approaches, so I find it refreshing and valuable to have real discussions with my doctors. I want to talk to my regular dentist about some of the things Dr. Nygaard recommended as far as my dental hygiene (she told me to try switching to a different toothbrush, changing my brushing technique) because I was given some ideas I have never heard before. Anyway, I think there is a wholistic health approach here, for sure. And it makes you feel like Dr. Nygaard is very very passionate about what she does and she is really thinking about you as an individual. That being said, I can see why some people have a negative experience. Most important, Dr. Nygaard is amazing at what she does. My gum graft looks so good. There is a full coffee bar and your order gets taken before your appointment so your drink is ready right when you leave. The hygienist, Nikki, was the most sweet and caring person and made my first appointment incredible. She was very kind and explained the entire process to me, what she saw on the monitor, and why the treatment plan was recommended with opportunity for me to change if I wanted to. Dr.Derek was very nice as well and both were sensitive about my oral history as well as genuine with how we will move forward. This office puts every other dentist I've ever had to shame because Dr.C's office has the most competent and knowledgeable crew you will find in Washington. My molar had a failed root canal and was cracked and needed to come out. For those complaining because it only took 5 mins. and you paid a grand, be happy! I paid the same and got to enjoy about 20 minutes of cracking, crunching and pulling. It was my choice because I only wanted a local anesthetic and was awake. Doc Skinner did the deed and prepped the socket for an implant sometime down the road. He knows what he is doing and it's worth it. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

I was told for years that I needed to get the treatment and was incredibly reluctant because of the time, braces and cost. However, I ultimately decided to pursue treatment. It has been due to the professionalism and service of Dr. Lang and the entire SOMFS team, that I am willing to fly back and forth between New York City and Spokane, WA to receive treatment. Over the last few years, Dr. Lang has been gracious, helpful and considerate when answering my questions (via email, phone and in person consultation) and the SOMFS team was extremely helpful when it came to scheduling the surgery, dealing with insurance (which was a nightmare...but ultimately we prevailed) and treating me with respect and care during and after the surgery. The surgery was successful and the advice and care I received in the months following my surgery has been extremely thorough. Long story short, if you need any sort of oral or maxillofacial surgery, SOMFS is the place to go. The price is right, the care is great and the doctors and staff are top notch.

I went in for Invisalign and that process was good but when it came time to do other work I was…read morescrewed out of thousands and thousands of dollars. I asked three times, two assistance and the dentist himself, before having a procedure done if insurance was going to cover it and was told yes, all three times. I had concerns over whether or not my procedure was medically necessary or would be considered cosmetic and was told it would be medically covered. In the end the insurance denied the claim saying that the dentist did a procedure that was more expensive than what was needed and should have offered or provided a different procedure. I was never presented a second or alternative option and I was never told one might not be covered over the other. No preauthorization was sent prior to the work being done. I argued for months and even appealed with insurance and in the end Weber dental just threw their hands up and said oh well, here's a bill for thousands of dollars. They refused to accept any responsibility and refused to help me with the cost at all. They did allow for me to make payments but it took me a very long time to pay it off.

Working with the billing department, they helped me get the most important teeth done and getting it to fit into my deductible and maximum allowed amount, leaving less important issues for next years plan. I could go on and on, but I'll just end with price... being from the Seattle area, I am amazed at the pricing. My crown was about $500 less than what I would have paid with dentists on the west side of the state, so I was able to get a lot more done too!
