I visited Optique Vision Center to update my glasses prescription. The receptionists and employees were friendly and helped me get my paperwork situated. The optician assistant was approachable and kind, and she made me feel comfortable right away. Dr. James was friendly and helpful and made sure to ask if I had any questions. I was in and out of the store within 30 minutes and hardly had to wait before getting helped by the optician assistant or being seen by the doctor! Side note - I personally felt safe in regards to COVID. There were hand sanitizing stations, the center seemed very clean, the assistant mentioned that the equipment had been sanitized before my use, and Yelp mentions that all the employees are vaccinated. However, none of the employees were masked, in case that is a concern to any patients. Great experience. Would recommend! read more

Their unfriendly receptionist is going to be their downfall. A year ago I went for my vision exam here. I told them I wanted the minimal vision exam covered by my insurance. Then I was handed a form and was rushed to fill it out. Unbeknownst to me it was a form to have an additional exam, where they analyze all of the blood vessels/veins/whatever in your eyes. I went through with the exams just figuring this place must be more through in their yearly exam.. Then at the end the receptionist told me the total, and I said I had told her only wanted what was covered by my insurance. She acted as if I stole this extra eye exam, an exam I did not want and specifically stated I did not want (unless it was covered). Since I loved the female doctor here I decided to let it go, and schedule for my second yearly exam. I called today and was told the wait was two weeks, she was unfriendly and cold during the whole phone call. I asked to be on the wait list and her attitude was crazy. I would never want someone like this representing my business. She acts like her life is absolute hell working here. I've gone to pick up contacts here once and it was the same way. I called another eye office in Edmond and was treated with kindness, so I canceled at Optique. read more

My request to have my contact lens prescription refilled was denied because my Rx was 48 hours out of date. Really? I tried to refill my order online, but that was also shot down by this office. There is a distinct unwillingness to cooperate unless you pay even more money. In this case, I'm not paying another $130 for an eye exam I don't need. Maximizing cash flow appears to be the MO here. We were one of the first customers for Dr. Mike's office. What we really like about them is that they pay very close attention to the trends in market. I have been using eyeglasses since I was a child, and what I like about Dr. Mike is his involvement with finding the best brands, at excellent prices and working with all kinds of different insurance to make these things possible for his patience / customers. From a service perspective they are truly outstanding and they never like you to be unhappy or unsatisfied. They will work with you very well. For the past four years, I have been heading towards Dr. Mike and will continue to do so. If there is anything negative to mention to keep this as subjective as possible: we find that turn around on staff is a bit too quick, and we like the personal service that his wife provides, when you deal with some of the staff it is not necessarily the same. Optique has been my optometry provider for the past two years. I have thoroughly enjoyed my appointments with both Dr. Grindstaff and Dr.James. They have helped me find great solutions for my vision needs. The staff, especially Dr. Grindstaff, are all very passionate about making sure that their clients are seeing perfectly. I am in town for vacation, and needed contacts quickly due to allergies. I had accidentally left my spare contacts several states away and was calling around to get into and I doctors as quickly as possible. Optique vision center was my third phone call, and I am glad that the first two were booked. I was helped by Star, and I'm now able to enjoy my vacation only hours after speaking with her. The staff was incredibly polite as well as understanding of my urgency. Whether you live here or just visiting, I highly recommend this vision center. I came in for my eye exam. I asked them to not do anything my insurance did not cover and I would just pay the $20 copay. They asked for both my vision and my medical insurance and the patient questionnaire. I provided both. They filed with my medical and not my vision insurance without my consent. With my vision, I have a $20 copay and insurance pays the rest. (They are a provider for my vision insurance). I got a bill for $39 and they consumed my $500 of free health insurance I get before my deductible kicks in. What a SCAM! Won't be going back. DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE IF YOU HAVE VISION INSURANCE and THEY ARE A PROVIDER FOR YOUR VISION INSURANCE.....THEY WILL RIP YOU & YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Actually, I like him so much that I have kept going to him even after my insurance changed and he is no longer covered. He listens well, and has a very easy going personality, while at the same time seeming extremely knowledgeable about the courses of action to take. Best eye appointment I've ever had. I saw Dr. Whitney Cox and her patient care is phenomenal. I was a new patient and she showed and explained multiple areas of my vision that have never been explained to me before. It was so informative! Great experience as always! Dr G. and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Dr G. takes time to educate the patient on any eye issues - past, current, or potential future problems. I had an issue with the lenses of some glasses that I ordered (reflections and glare around the edges) and they were able to make some adjustments to solve the issue within minutes! A couple of years ago, Dr G. noticed a potential issue with my retina from the Optomap images. He referred me to a specialist and sure enough, I needed to have laser surgery to prevent a possible retinal detachment. I highly recommend Dr G. to anyone looking for a great eye doctor! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an optometrist. The staff and doctor were friendly and helpul - right until the sale was made. Then they became unfriendly and condescending. My first clue should have been the feeling like I had just gone through a sales pitch at a car dealership - or perhaps pushed through an assembly line. I did not get the simple solution I came in for - instead I was sold something new and high-tech. When I finally got the glasses, they were just awful. Rectangles became odd-sized trapezoids. To read a line across a computer screen, or to read up and down required moving my head from side to side and up and down constantly. My head had to be at a fixed distance - an exact fixed distance - from the computer screen, or everything was blurry. I would become nauseaus to the point of throwing up with just a few hours of use. So how about some sort of satisfaction guarantee? Forget about it. You cannot expect even one penny of a refund no matter how unsatisfied and how bad the product. After this bad experience I went to one of the older, more experienced optometrists in Edmond. The experience was completely different, totally professional, and most importantly I got a pair of glasses in less than a week that worked perfectly. And the cost was less than a third of what I paid at Optique. read more
