I arranged to have my drive way sealcoated on Monday June 24, 2019. Due to the rain in the area that day I was not surprised to find the driveway had not been coated when I returned home. I was surprised that I did not receive any notice advising me of this or that the crew would be out the next day. Fortunately I heard them trimming the driveway and was able to move my car out of the garage or it would have been sealed in for two days. I don't believe the crew was here more than 20 minutes.
Everything seemed fine and based on the fact Options had sealed my driveway for the past 4-5 years, I did not expect any problems. That afternoon I noticed that the daylilies at the end of the driveway had been shredded with a weedwacker 18' high leaving a very unsightly look right at the entrance to my drive. This will not resolve itself until they grow back next year. This had never been an issue before.
The next day while walking on the driveway, I noted numerous (100's would not be an exaggeration) hairline cracks where it appears the seal coating was not properly applied. I contacted Options and a crew came out in the next day or two. Unfortunately while they did fill some of the larger cracks, they did not address the fact the seal coating was not covering, or filling the hairline cracks.
I again contacted Options and was told by Ashley that their product is brush applied and while it may not seem like the seal coat is filling the cracks, it was there. Obviously I don't do sealcoating for a living but I have sealed my drive myself and I'm familiar with past results from Options. This was just a poorly applied product.
Two things are really irk me. First, their office is about 8 miles east of my home, maybe a 15 minute drive. Yet when I asked on several occasions if someone could come out and I would show them what my concerns were, I heard nothing. Second, if this had been acted on immediately, it would have taken a crew about 20 minutes to reseal the effected areas.
I must admit their bill collecting service was top notch as they called me twice to remind me I hadn't paid their bill.
I leave you with their Commitment to Service posted on their website.
