After making an inquiry on Bankrate, Rozell Soto, Senior Loan Officer, promptly gave me a call. At that stage of the mortgage process, we already pulled quotes from two other lenders, so I was shopping for due diligence and posterity. However, Rozell was confident that she could help us get the best deal through Optimum, and ultimately she was right. In addition to providing the best deal, Rozell's friendly and professional approach sealed the deal for me to choose Optimum over the other lenders. Even further, and with the understanding that it may not be possible in all scenarios, we closed early. Incredible!! I had initial reservations about working with a larger lending company, as I had been told that local lenders were ideal; however, Rozell's superb communication and attention to detail made the experience better than what I experienced with local lenders, and Optimum had the capacity to provide the best overall deal. Optimum has access to an array of loan products, and Rozell found the one that was best suited for my situation. Throughout the process, I had hundreds of questions. Rozell addressed every single one respectfully and diligently. She finished the process with the same level of enthusiasm that she started with and never wavered. In the latter half of the process, I was introduced to Kim White, Processor, to assist with the loan application. My unique scenario required specific documentation. Kim helped me navigate those requirements with the same kindness, respect, patience and unwavering support as Rozell. And here we are; I am writing this review from my new home! Working with Rozell and Kim was the BEST part of the mortgage acquisition process. I have recommended them to several friends and highly suggest you choose them for your mortgage lending needs. read more

Erik understood from the beginning that we were well-qualified buyers that were going to shop around for the best rate, as this was not our first home purchase. Erik was willing to compete to provide the best rate, terms, and guaranteed on time closing. He provided a quick pre-approval letter that was needed to make a more competitive offer to the house sellers. He was transparent on budget and the money down that would provide the pricing. Following the home inspection and our intent to proceed with staying under contract, he provided the best loan estimate and fixed rate with no points from a pool of five different lenders. After we committed to using Optimum First as our lender, we generally had no issues with loan processing and providing necessary documentation or follow-up info for underwriting. One word of advice is I would recommend as soon as you know you want to stay under contract (likely after your home inspection) and proceed with the house, obtain your final, bound homeowners insurance policy with your preferred provider (not just a quote) as soon as possible. This will be needed with Optimum First for your clear to close letter and any buyer financing requirements stated in your contract. read more

Sean Dibsy made our mortgage refinance experience incredibly smooth from start to finish. From the first conversation, he was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely focused on finding the best outcome for our situation--not just pushing a generic solution. What really stood out was his transparency and attention to detail--there were no surprises, just consistent communication and follow-through. Sean also worked efficiently to keep things moving, which made a big difference in locking in a great rate at the right time. I've worked with Lee W. on multiple transactions now -- a purchase and a refinance -- and each time has been a smooth, professional experience. Lee takes the time to actually explain your options rather than just pushing you toward whatever's fastest to close. He was responsive throughout, kept me informed at every stage, and made what's usually a stressful process feel manageable. What stands out most is that he clearly knows the details of the loan products, not just the sales pitch. He walked me through rate/term tradeoffs and answered every question I had without making me feel rushed. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone buying or refinancing. I'm soo glad I went with Optimum First and got to work with Jeff Clark. Not only were the rates the best I found (even beat my own credit union), my refinance ended up being somewhat complex and even had to be redone at one point, which was all handled with compassion and eagerness to help. I appreciated Jeff's 30 years of experience, his attitude/demeanor, availability/long working hours, dedication and ultimately his willingness and tenacity to continue exploring options until we could find a way to GET IT DONE. Brendan Marumoto was exceptional to work with to finalize a mortgage on my new property. He got me a rate that was 0.377 percentage points lower than the best and final offer from other lenders. When I approached the other lenders for rate matching, they were shocked at the rate Brendan was able to secure and told me to go ahead with him instead. Brendan was super communicative and thoughtful throughout the process and got the deal done on time while I switched lenders late in the game. He is awesome and I would definitely work with him again - I highly recommend him for your mortgage needs. read more

I was quoted a 5.5%interest rate for 0.898 points as of April 9, 2026, prior to authorizing a credit pull and submitting financial documents, which led me to proceed with the application. After review, despite no change in the information I provided, the rate increased. The Sales Manager later confirmed in writing that the original quote was not based on verified data and resulted from a human input error. This discrepancy raises concerns about the accuracy of initial rate quotes provided before credit authorization. read more
