I am a lifelong endurance athlete, and I was a patient at Optimal Performance Center twice in the last 10 years. Both times for injuries affecting my training and daily activities (e.g., ability to walk, work, etc. - let alone race). To me it is important to share: This practice crossed very serious ethical and professional boundaries during the course of my care. When I raised concerns in an attempt to resolve the issues, my concerns were not addressed. The issues persisted and in fact escalated. Rather than addressing any of this, OPC instead terminated my care. Following termination, I dealt with repeated contact and inappropriate behavior from individuals associated with the practice, actions which were intrusive and extremely distressing. All of this significantly affected my sense of safety and well-being and continues to do so. Patients enter clinical care expecting professionalism, boundaries, ethical conduct, and accountability. Those standards were certainly not upheld. I have had great experiences at many other practices across the St. Louis region. I cannot more strongly recommend that patients look elsewhere. read more

UPDATE: let me first start by saying I am still a patient. That being said, you need to be prepared for borderline absurd waiting. I am extraordinarily busy so I try to get his earliest appointments, often scheduling 6 weeks in advance to make sure I'm the first person. The only reason I'm writing this review is I'm at my 7:20am appointment and it's 7:42 and he still has a patient ahead of me. Targeting About a 30 -40 minute wait time. Again, my time was 720am. I'm supposed to be home feeding my.little girl who has down syndrome. My wife has waited as long as 2 hrs past her time. Again, we are still patients. The wait is worth it as our issues are getting resolved health wise, but you'll want to plan ahead like bring a book like war and peace or build a house while waiting or I don't know solve time travel. You'll have time for all of those. read more

I have suffered from migraines for most of my life but after just a handful of visits, the severity and frequency of the migraines was drastically reduced. now that I have been seeing Dr. Laiderman for a couple of years, my migraines are few and far between and are small headaches in comparison to what they used to be. read more

I can't say enough good things about both Dr. Laiderman and Dr. Luitjohan. I have been coming to the center for 2+ years to deal with numerous issues but recently have started seeing Dr. Luitjohan. Some of my issues are based on my spinal structure and some lifestyle. I've had to give up hot yoga a number of times which killed me. I was also told I should have a discectomy which I declined. Through working with Dr. Luitjohan I am now doing hot yoga again and feeling better than I have in almost a year. He dealt with both my acute issues and chronic, e.g., sciatica, teeth grinding, hypermobility and facet degenerative disease, in a different way than any other doctor I've been to. He is amazing and one of the nicest most knowledgeable people you'll ever meet. He listens and has a gentle approach that does not jar the body. So if you are hesitant to see a Chiro or don't like to get jerked around when being adjusted, he is the one for you. I cannot recommend him and Dr. Laiderman more enthusiastically and Natalie who runs the office is organized and one of the most upbeat pleasant and likable people you'll meet. Hi everyone! I have been going to Optimal Performance Center for a few months now. If you have not experienced good chiropractic care, you may be a little skeptical. I'm posting this review because I want you to know that this is not your normal chiropractic center. First and foremost, both Dr. Laiderman and Dr. Specht are incredible practitioners. Both of them listen to your history and your current situation and they take it into consideration with your treatment plan. They work with you to achieve the results that you're looking for, and they're very skilled at making muscular-skeletal adjustments to help you make progress along your treatment plan. Second, their results can be amazing. Today I walked into their office with a pain rating of about a five where I would avoid doing any activity if it was going to trigger sharp pain. I left after my adjustment with the pain rating of about a 2, where my pain was in the background and not interfering with anything that I wanted to do. No, I am not pain-free yet, but I am supremely grateful! Third, there is a price to pay for their amazing services. In order for my adjustment to benefit me today, the doctor spent at least 30 minutes with me. Since the normal appointment time is scheduled for 20 minutes, this means that everyone had to wait while I was being cared for. I consider this to be the greatest blessing of this practice, because they take the time to get it right. It is also their greatest curse, because some people cannot take an extra 10 minutes in their schedule. So don't look for instant gratification! Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not mention Natalie. She is the office manager, insurance claims person, receptionist, scheduler, and person who handles a lot of unscheduled jobs. Her attitude is awesome, and she always brightens my day. With that in mind, here's is my punchline... If you want to be healed, these are the people for you. If you are on a tight schedule and do not care about the outcomes, go check out someone else! read more

When I went to see Dr. Laiderman back in June I could not run a mile without pain. After 2 visits I was running again. I continued to visit OPC offices for the summer as Dr. Laiderman continued to treat me with active release and some adjustments. Not only did my knee remain pain free, but my lower back pain got much better. As my training intensified over the summer Laiderman addressed any minor issues that came up. Thanks to his help in November I completed an Ironman. The team at Optimal Performance Center are fantastic, they can help you get back to your active life! I saw Dr Laiderman for my wrist. Being a nurse, I naturally sought consultation with a hand and wrist surgeon. I was told that the cartilage between my bones had worn away and could not be fixed. I had a cortisone injection, which did nothing to improve pain and function. So I figured I would have to live with it or have surgery which would limit my range of motion. My trainer suggested seeing Dr Laiderman. I figured I had nothing to lose. In 3 months my wrist has become painless and functional. I am thrilled and grateful. Dr laiderman is one smart guy. The entire staff at OPC is extremely friendly and positive. I enjoy living an active lifestyle, which for me, includes marathons and triathlons as well as team-based sports. Dr. Laiderman is an endurance athlete himself, so he understands what I'm putting my body through in training and on race day. He has helped prepare me leading up to a race so my body is in optimal condition on race day as well as treating me post-race so I recover more efficiently. He's also given me tools that I can employ at home to identify areas that need attention and keep my body fine-tuned over time. Additionally - and this is something I really did not expect and would have never even considered or realized possible - but he helped my wife and I conceive our first child (after over a year of struggles) by ensuring both of our bodies were working as efficiently and freely as they are designed to do. Love OPC! I was having IT band pain during every run. After a few appointments at OPC I am now running pain free. This isn't your typical bone cracking chiropractic office. The Drs are very sports minded and look at how the whole body chain is affecting your problem area. I was sent home with specific stretches to aid in the healing process. read more

Dr. Brian Laiderman is hands down one of the best doctors that I've been to. The most important thing to him is his patients welfare, not the 'business' side of being a doctor. He spends time with his patients to really understand what they have going on. With the different techniques that he uses, he has helped me with shin splints, a hamstring injury, a shoulder injury along with my general well-being. He's also helped me improve my running form, my breathing, stretching and diet. He's allowed me to continue running as well as keep up with my other workouts without the pain I used to have. I went to see Dr. Laiderman because I was new to running and needed someone who could assist with the pain I had. Being a runner himself, he knows how the body is affected by running and doesn't just focus on the hips, back and neck like most chiropractors. He also addresses the affects activity has on knees and ankles. I've recommended him to my friends and family and would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a chiropractor or is only just satisfied with their current chiropractor. read more
