So I just came from giving this a try because my wife said it worked for her. Upon entering the young lady at the front desk had really bad energy. She wasn't friendly at all, no smile just dry. After the paperwork, a nice lady named Shantilly escorted me to the room, got me setup and began the procedure. The tube hurt and I was very uncomfortable. Every 10 minutes I couldn't take it and had to take a break. Nothing ever came out through the tubes, even with the water that was being pumped in. I feel like it was a total waste of money. I injured my back from yoga about two weeks ago. It was one of the back bends which I've been doing for years. I felt something get tweaked in my back instantly however I didn't think much of it. As the days passed, the pain in my upper right back became worse. After about the fifth day, it hurted to even breathe. I never had this type of pain ever in my life. I knew I had to get help but over a plathora of options that's available, I didn't know where to start. Luckily my sister and another friend of mine has been going to Optimal Health for the same back problems (from yoga). Apparently Curtis (the massage guy) fixed my friend's back with one session. My sis recommended that I go see him and take it from there. I made an appointment the same morning (skipped work) because the pain was unbearable. Curtis was able to squeeze me in the same afternoon. I met with him and I told him all my symptoms. First off he is extremely knowledgeable, thoroghly listened to me and attentive of my needs. He started off with a deep tissue massage and really focused on the "hot" spot. I later learned the area in chiropractic terms is called "T-6" zone. Apparently the muscles that were affected were close to my ribs which explains the excruciating pain when I breathe. Then he did electro magnetic accupuncture on my back. It was my first accupuncture ever. It felt weird at first but I was desperate and ended up dozing off after a few mins because it felt so good. He then tried to crack me in a few areas. Then he finished me off with large pad of salonpas (icy cold at first and got super hot). My first salonpas too. He took the time to explain to me the different remedies I can do at home myself (i.e. epsom salt baths and heated water pads). He even took the time to google how the heated water pads looked like for my ref., since I didn't have any clue. Then he also recommended I see Dr. Peter Ziegler for a few mins so he can adjust me. Dr. Ziegler is another awesome staff here. He took me in right away even though he had a patient waiting. He tweaked & cracked me. He also urged me to come back for another visit for a full session of treatment. Well the very next day, I went back to 45 mins of spinning and 90 mins of poweryoga. I must say the pain was almost non-existent. Working out definitely helped as it brought heat & blood flow to my back. This is something that Curtis had mentioned I should do. I'm not about to quit yoga soon....it's just a realization that I'm not young anymore and more prone to injuries (sadly). Since my last visit, I continued to see Dr. Ziegler and my back problem is definitely getting better. And Curtis...I'll be back! read more

UPDATE: so Alex recommended that I buy enzyme pills, but when I took the pills I was constipated so I went online to see the side effects of enzyme pills and one of them are constipation so I'm not quite sure why she recommended those to me and they were $14 so I am not happy about that ! I was trying to switch my appointment because there was an accident in the 405 Fwy. Not thrilled with this place. I bought a Groupon, and they sure did treat me like it. Even when I was booking the appointment, the lady on the phone was rude. Got there, filled out the paperwork and the lady doing my treatment wasn't terribly nice. She explained everything, health benefits and such. But once we got into the treatment (which is really uncomfortable and even painful at some points), she wasn't compassionate or sympathetic at all. She even told me "Don't be a baby". Not exactly the best way to speak to a customer who's in such a vulnerable position. The facility was clean though, and they did advise the best parking, which is 2 hours free across the street. I can't speak more highly after being recommended by a friend after hurting my back and being in really bad consistent pain. I was desperate to be fixed. They thankfully had an appointment the next day for new patient (he books up fast!) Normally people think snap crackle pop with chiropractor but he first did an extensive health history which I loved! It all came off very eastern medicine which I appreciate in a western world! It seemed like he barely touched me! The next few days radiating pain was gone! After three visits everything is back in order! Absolutely horrible service. By all means stay away from this dishonest and unprofessional company!!! I purchased a Groupon for two hydro-colon therapy sessions. After the first treatment I was recommended to use the other one a few days later. I used it a few days later. After the second treatment I was highly recommended to purchase a package of three colon therapy sessions for $240 to maintain my good health. I purchased the package and was NEVER TOLD that the package or amount was final sale and not refundable. After the second treatment I had medical side effects and had to be checked by my doctor. The doctor told me NOT to do any more of the treatments. Again, a DOCTOR told me not to do anymore treatments as apparently this place had done some damage to my body!!!! I did not use ANY of the 3 treatments in the package I just purchased so I called to get a refund. I spoke to the manager in charge of billing and as I explained the situation, how a doctor told me I could no longer use them and she said she would refund my money with a very rude attitude. MY MONEY WAS NEVER REFUNDED NOR WAS I EVER TOLD I COULD NOT GET MY MONEY BACK. With that being said, I had no choice but to request a charge back via my credit card company and an investigation was underway. Optimal Health was dishonest, not upfront with their refund policies and is not a trustworthy company. Even though they have my $240 for services I have not used, I will never give my services or recommend this company to anyone again. I've been to Optimal Health 3 times now and have had nothing done. Is that weird? I guess so, but I still would like to put in my two cents, because I've come with my mother and my husband on different occasions for moral support. Let's face it, when you are having a tube placed into your anal cavity, you may need a little help walking through the door. Both of them came with the Groupon that was $92 for two colonics, which is a great deal. Both of them also had the procedure done by Osa who they both raved about. I have had a colonic, but I had it done with another Groupon offer from Florade Wellness done by Hilda. This colon hydrotherapy was a great experience. I have done the open system before so this was the first time with the closed system, which was a whole lot more awkward. The colon hydrotherapist was AWESOME, though. Very sweet and walked me through the otherwise awkward process. It was very helpful to get ALLLLL the stuff stuck inside out of me. She massaged my belly, which I believe vastly improved my results. All in all, I loved it and I would do it again NO DOUBT! Both Curtis and Darren have given me great advice regarding herbs and dietary supplements to keep me feeling balanced and healthy. NO RESULTS I bought a groupon for two hydrocolon therapies. I did not enjoy the experience for two reasons: Received wrong information, Nothing came out. I've been a vegetarian for a while and I don't appreciate hearing I need to eat meat. I was also encouraged to use the next cleansing right away. And of course! I should buy the package of ten sessions. The problem is that there was very little extracted out (coming out?). The liquid was a little dirty, few feces and again dirty liquid. Both times I expected to see more dirty coming out and it didn't happen. In addition, I didn't feel any improvement in my body. The lady who adjusted me was chatty and they were nice. One of the best parts about sites like Living Social, Pop Sugar (not really feeling Groupon at the moment), Gilt City LA is the ability to learn about all of our cities little hidden gems. Gems I may otherwise never knew existed. My experience at Optimal Health highlights this. I consider myself fairly well versed in alternative health methodologies. I also am a HUGE fan of infrared saunas - no seriously I want to build one in my living room. I had always used the sit inside wooden spacious varieties though and swore to myself those "lying down weird ones" would make me claustrophobic. Last night I went to Optimal Health and this theory of mine was put to shame. I started my treatment with Nicholas (who is easy on the eyes ladies to boot). He gave me a 30 minute + deep tissue massage. Oh my god - he is gifted! Again, I have had lots of massages. I know my body very, very well. He put just the right amount of pressure (and it's never enough for me. I like very strong hands). I practically floated out of the massage room and was led to the infrared sauna area. I stood surprised it looked easy and carefree - and I wondered why I ever was so fearful of this format as opposed to the other. At around 8:30 I started to feel a little bad as I heard the building prepping to close up - not the suite but other suite owners. I got out, and said to one of the owners "Next time I will come earlier, I feel bad making you stay until 9pm" He said "no its fine , seriously, not a big deal at all." We ended up chatting for a bit more, I bought a few products I am excited to try AND they informed me they decided to extend this particular promotion.
