Then Tim somehow fit me into his busy schedule that very same afternoon, came out, got everything working again, and did a full inspection. Total: $149. Then Tim gave me the shock of the day -- and thankfully it wasn't electrical. He explained that my panel may not need to be replaced at all. Instead, he can do a tune-up/service on it for WAY less than the cost of a brand-new panel. No one has ever suggested that option to me before. I really appreciated Tim's honesty. He could have easily agreed with me when I was ready to throw money at a full replacement, but instead he actually inspected the system and recommended what made sense. I went from "Replace everything!" to "Wait... I get to keep my money?" Tim was prompt, honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. Bee Thumb Electric absolutely earned my business, and Tim will be the first person I call for electrical work from now on.

He explained the issue clearly, installed a new EV-rated NEMA 14-50R receptacle, and found that the wiring back to our panel had burnt conductors too. Tim was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk us through everything. If you need EV charger installation or electrical repair done right, call Bee Thumb Electric.

Called Chris back and he was so kind and SUPER helpful and walked me through getting the breaker flipped back (he said you have to throw your body weight into it lol) Got it back on then he walked me through how to find the outlet in the garage to reset it. We needed a new Electrical Panel on my Mom's house replaced. It had the original panel that was…read moreinstalled when the house was built in 1958. My brother needed an RV jack installed so he quit popping the existing panel every time he visits from out of state. I called 5 different contractors for quotes. Only 2 contractors physically came to look at the panel. Ralph came out himself to give us a quote. He explained everything to my Mom and I telling us about the existing panel we had & the kind of panel he would install. He explained what was going to happen. He explained the SMUD would assign us an engineer to help us know what need to be done before we started. What trees would probably be in the way and how long the project would take. Ralph was the only one to give us a complete detailed estimate of everything they were going to. His price wasn't the lowest nor was it the highest but it was the most professional. Once we got the trees removed from in front of the old electrical box and in the tree that the SMUD cable was in, we called Ralph, he set up a day and time with SMUD and the County inspectors and kept us in the loop with all the emails. On the day of installation, his crew (Andy & Austin) showed up exactly at 8:00 with the lineman from SMUD who turned the power off. Andy & Austin worked diligently until 3:30 getting the old box removed and installing the new box. The inspectors came out approved their work & gave the OK to turn the power back on. Shortly thereafter two SMUD lineman came & connected the cables back up. On the hottest day of the year they all worked cleanly and safely and answered any questions I had. Working with Lori in the office was so easy. She sent me an email with and invoice for the deposit, I paid that online, and then after the final inspection I went back to the same email and paid the rest of the invoice. I paid it all with a credit card and got a receipt immediately that I had paid my bill. If we ever have any electrical needs again, the only company I would call would be Bonham Electric and would recommend Bonham Electric to any homeowner who needs their main breaker panel replaced.

First, I'll admit this review is for work done years ago, and they could be much better now... but…read moreI just uncovered more work they did in my house that has pushed me over the edge and a negative review is warranted, which I almost never give. They were hired as a sub contractor for a remodel I was doing. I ultimately fired them after uncovering incompetent work that Sam was doing himself. I then re-did most of their work while the walls were open, but I didn't catch all of it apparently. Now after years, I keep finding surprises... the latest of which was a ceiling light that they decided to use the ground (bare copper) as a shared neutral and use the hot and neutral both as hot so they could install a switch to control the light and fan separately without fishing another run of romex. I was in the middle of a major remodel, and would have happily had them cut all the drywall to run a new line to the fan... but nope... they took the lazy way out and just did some backwoods electrical crap. Thanks Sam... this is truly fun... I love finding all the things you took lazy short cuts on. I'm glad I fired you when you couldn't figure out how to wire a GFCI in my bathroom because of a shared neutral. I feel really sorry for the average home owner who is trusting that the work is done right, and the poor electricians that follow Sam and have to explain to home owners that they have to fix everything done before. And note, if you think that the county code inspectors will catch these things... 99% of the time they won't.

His experience comes through with his quick understanding of a customer's needs and wishes, and he provides options where he sees them. He provides a detail estimate plus recommendations he notes. In our case, he identified that our 49 year old electric panel was one found to be a risk by insurance companies. "Zinsco electric panels are a fire and shock hazard and are no longer approved by electrical codes due to a history of malfunctioning circuit breakers that can melt to the bus bar." Garritt changed out the panel in just a few hours. Then efficiently added three new garage circuits, one for lights, one for garage door motors and for electric water heater. He first thought a two day work schedule was quite much but with his attention to detail and strong work ethic he got all the work done plus some additions early. Garritt W. is highly recommended and we will use him for our future electrical needs. The Morgans, Roseville
